Campaigning For Father, Rand Paul Asked About Future White House Bid -CBS News
Submitted by AnAppealToHeavenWash on Sat, 01/07/2012 - 18:34CONCORD, N.H. - Now that he's joined his father Ron Paul on the presidential campaign trail, Sen. Rand Paul is starting to get the question himself: Will he someday launch a White House bid?
On Saturday in Concord, the younger Paul said he's focused on helping his father and that "I can't answer questions beyond that."
But then the first-term Kentucky Republican offered an indication that it might be on his mind: "I am interested in the long-range goals of changing the country to having more limited federal government having more local control of our government. And you do that by speaking to the media, to groups around the country, or sometimes running for national office or maybe in the Senate."

After Rand said today that he would vote for the status quo if Ron doesn't make the ticket, I doubt that I would vote for him.
Rand is thinking about the future!
Assuming for a minute Ron doesn't win and the country doesn't completely go to hell over the next 4 years.... Rand will most likely be making a bid for the white house! I also think that he has discussed this with Ron and I think that if Ron doesn't win, he has already decided not to run as a 3rd party!! If Ron did run 3rd party (i'm sure Rand would support him he'd have to and no one could blame him for it) but if he doesn't... Rand cannot be seen as someone who worked against the republican party by supporting a 3rd party bid that helped re-elect Obama!!!! "People" are irrational, and the main theme of the life long republican these days is "anybody but Obama" It doesn't matter what their policies are and what they have done, they are gonna walk into that ballot booth and mark republican regardless of their policies!
Rand wouldn't stand a chance in 2016 if he gets portrayed as the guy who helped re-elect Obama by taking away votes from the republicans!!!!
Remember, we are trying to win the hearts & minds of a nation of ignorant people who vote republican because they believe the democrats are evil and people who always vote democrat because they believe the republicans are evil!!! The Left vs. Right paradigm isn't going away anytime soon! At least not during this election cycle!!! Also, there are still too many people who don't vote third party, because they feel they are throwing their vote away... so they vote for the lesser of two evils!

I'm voting for someone other than Obama
with reluctance. Why write in Dr. Paul's name if he's not getting elected? I like neo-con teapartiers except on foreign policty.

We need to keep the republican base afraid that we will go 3rd party and vote against them in protest if Ron isn't the nominee! If we can keep that little bit of fear in the back of their minds, then we will start to attract some people that will say, "shoot, I don't really like everything Ron is saying, but I'd rather have him than Obama... If the anybody but Obama thing is legit, then that means Ron Paul as well.
We must keep the Ron Paul or nobody theme alive because it forces the republican voters to fear a 3rd party run that would give Obama an edge in the general election!!! That fear will drive some to back Ron to keep him from running as a 3rd party!!! (there is a distinction between voters and the establishment... the establishment would just as well see their puppet Obama re-elected than Ron take the White House)....
THE FEAR OF A 3RD PARTY BID IS GOOD!!!!

I hope and I pray every day that we will be successful this year! I am optimistic, however, I do realize that this battle may not be won! I do not say this to dampen the campaign, but I want new supporters to recognize that Dr. Paul and some here have been fighting this fight for decades... Long before I joined the R3volution! I also recognize that the country is in great peril and the support that the movement has gained this year is truly wonderful! We must continue this campaign at all costs!!! Think of how many people have been woken up over the last 4 years!! We are putting Rand in a wonderful position for 2016 regardless of what happens this year!
I have read the book of Revelation, and as a Christian, I know that this world is going to experience some terrible times one day.... that may be within our lifetimes or it may be 500 years from now! No one knows when Christ will return... Many battles will be fought but evil will only prevail for so long! I know how Revelation ends and who will have final victory! But if by my life, and even at the expense of my life, I can bring even one soul to our Lord, then my efforts will be worth it!
We must view this campaign in the same light! I have found that reaching people with Ron Paul's message of liberty and economics is as daunting as bring them to Christ! Do not be discouraged with all of the attacks and false information... It only means we are reaching more people and becoming stronger!

Ron is John F. Kennedy.
Rand is Bobby. I really believe he is with us all the way. But I think he doesn't himself realize how imminent the end of "life as we know it" really is.
I think Ron should and will run third party if he gets screwed by the GOP at the convention...
Who cares about 4 years from now? The end is coming soon and the politicians and their cronies know it. That's why they're all clamoring for more of the shrinking pie. It's got to be a revolution or everything remains hypothetical.

My comment above may be too hopeful about the future of this country! I think you may be right, if we are not successful this time, it may not matter in 4 years!
If we lose, the only hope is for states to begin succeeding! Maybe we can convince Sarah Palin to get Alaska to do so... LOL!
