Holding the flag of the Republic (poem)
Submitted by legalizeliberty on Sun, 01/08/2012 - 04:14High upon the hills as lanterns of Liberty
Soldiers of the Continental Army
With few blankets and broken shoes
Sacred flames in their starving bodies
One unseen hand keeps them warm
For they have abundant faith
Many fires stir clouds
Watching them from above
And stars amazed seeing their glory
Do you see they have
Last 25 bags of flour?
They keep their oath!
Troops in blessed readiness
Holding the flag of the Republic
Inside compartments of their hearts
Today they ask Americans in one loud voice
Are you unfit for duty because you are barefoot
Living on a cold bleak hill sleeping under frost?
No need to leave your wife abandon your house
No need to donate your blood for the cause!
Ask your hearts
What sweet price
To place on freedom

Thank you, Tom!
That was truly beautiful and powerful too!
Yes, we might be tired and worn out, and no, we are not going to quit anytime soon! And to put "soon" in perspective, it was entertaining for me to realize that I am on DP for 4 years, and 4 days (as of today), and I rarely register for websites when I start following them...
I envy people who can say that they voted for RP back in '88, but then I was (not yet knowing the word) libertarian in soviet Russia... Demonstrations with DemSouyz, etc. I am sure you can relate to that, others might not.
Thank You!
Paul B.
Thank you Paul
The fight goes on.
I have a Russian friend in New York Tatiana she made over 600 phone calls to NH to spread the message of Dr. Ron Paul the message of Liberty.
Here is her website with some beautiful poems:

and her store with Ron Paul items she designed:

so you see you are not the only Ron Paul supporter with Russian roots.
Nothing can stop the Liberty train.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback.

We enjoy the result of their toil and sacrifice,
let us emulate their fortitude and virtue.
Freedom is not: doing everything you want to.
Freedom is: not having to do what you don't want to do.

I consistently remind myself
I consistently remind myself that Washington lost nearly every battle; that the fire of Liberty was very nearly snuffed out; that so many have given so much for my own freedom, and that this sacrifice shall not have been in vain.
Thank you for these inspiring lines. We must persevere. We must strive even harder. And we must never, NEVER give up.

Thank you Scott
To those who might think of giving up I say: do you want your own children to hate you when they grow up as slaves?
If people give up on freedom they might as well give up on breathing and eating food as well.
There are at least several million Ron Paul supporters in America - what if they all give up on eating lunch one day and instead donate the money to the campaign?
Fasting is healthy.
Better to skip one lunch a week than to get fat and watch country go belly-up with another war that would seal the fate of the country with final collapse.
Thank you Scott.

Thank you my friend
When I read the letter George Washington wrote in obvious distress saying that many soldiers in his army have no shoes and have to be in a hospital or in farm houses...voice inside me said: just write and your words will stir some people to donate money to Dr. Ron Paul's campaign.
We continue fighting their good fight.
And just as at their time one hand kept them warm the very same hand from above keeps us warm.
