Need cleaner link to actual numbers

That link has too much data.

The only candidate whos support is not all over the place

Its just steadily increasing as time goes on. Look at the ups and downs of the others in the poll graph. Highlights there completely flimsy support. They havent added this national poll to their list of polls but with it our percentage should be closer to 14 or 15% nationally.

Which is correct?

RealClearPolitics has the Reuters/Ipsos poll with Gingrich at 20 and Paul at 16.......?

Republicans only

The 16% Paul and 20% Gingrich is for Republicans only. When they added in independents Paul is at 17% and Gingrich is at 17%. They also only assume that 20% of the primary voters (100 in sample) would be independent and 80% (400 in sample) would be Republican, so Paul's numbers may truly be higher if independent turnout is over 20% and some democrats switch over.

Here is the original poll: http://www.ipsos-na.com/download/pr.aspx?id=11293

Anyway, 16-17% is

Anyway, 16-17% is HUGE!!!
This is a national POLL. HUGE!!!

I just want to say two words

President Paul.

"Ron Paul Surges..."

Music to my ears...

2 more RP converts!

A couple that I have been working on in FL called me today and told me that they will both be voting for Ron Paul!

I love hearing that!

I wish RCP

used this data rather than the data with Republicans only.

Republicans only: Romney 30%, Gingrich 20%, Paul 16%.

Republicans and Independents: Romney 29%, Paul 17%, Gingrich 17%.

These results are from BEFORE NH 2nd place finish

The results of the Reuters/Ipsos poll were released prior to Mr. Paul’s 2nd place finish in the New Hampshire Primary.
the Texas congressman has jumped 5 percentage points since Ipsos Public Affairs last conducted a GOP poll between December 8th and December 12th.

Indeed. Steady as she goes:

  1. June: 8%
  2. October: 12%
  3. December: 12%
  4. January: 17%

But also, and perhaps more importantly, among "Republicans only", Paul has jumped from 7 to 13 to 12 (Dec) to 16% now, just 4 points behind falling Gingrich who is down from 28 in Dec to 20 in this group. This means Paul is doing almost as well among "Republicans only" nationally as he is among "Republicans and Independents". That. Is. Huge!!!

In the "Republicans only" group the only real threat besides Romney (29%) and Gingrich (20%) is Santorum who jumped impressively from 4 to 13% between Dec and Jan. Perry has fallen from 12 to 7%, and Huntsman fell from 5 to 3%!

Can't wait to see what impact the NH win second place victory will have on Paul's national, SC and even FL standings.

Great analysis - Paul does well with Republicans and Indies

Thanks for the context, minarchist.

It's actually not news that Paul polls well even among regular Republicans.

Even though Ari Fleischer claimed Paul was supported by liberals, independents, and Democrats in NH, he also took second place among both self-identified (15%) and registered (14%) Republicans. Second among "somewhat conservatives" (19%) and also took 18% of "very conservatives" behind Santorum and Romney. And took 23% for second among "fiscal very conservatives".

Unfortunately for Ari, "very conservative" voters do not dominate any of the primaries even in the South. Paul is doing just fine with them given the number of candidates competing for that slice and his strength among other groups.

And South Carolina is an open primary that allows all registered voters to participate: Republicans, Independents, Democrats, liberals, moderates, libertarians, somewhat conservatives, very conservatives, fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, neo-conservatives, paleo-conservatives, and even constitutional conservatives.

Wow! That is HUGE!!!!!

Wow! That is HUGE!!!!!

Paul is the Anti-BushBama....

Freedom Candidate.

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Could someone with the skills, please capture a photo of Doctor Paul pumping his fist in the air and yelling YEAH at the post NH rally.

It would look nice on Drudge.
This may be a first for the good DOCTOR.

That was very close to a Howard Dean moment

I loved it personally, but we were joking around here if he had held that note for just a moment or two longer it could have been a PR disaster.

Do you have a link to the video? I can do a capture or a frame by frame extraction...

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Paul really IS the anti-Romney

Push that Paul is the only other choice

The campaign statement calling on the other candidates to drop out of the race was more of a message to the voters of SC: "If you don't want Romney, Paul is the only other choice that can do it."

I can't wait to see the next poll out of SC... see if we are making headway with our recent successes. The 'electability' issue should be finally gone to rest.

I believe there is a debate on Monday? A FOX debate? Paul has to (and will) be ready for questions about freedom vs. social conservative issues.

The only way the Republicans

The only way the Republicans can win is with Ron Paul. They know that most of us will never vote for an Establishment Neocon which just another variation of the Obama/Bush puppet. And a lot of independents will either stay home or are just as likely to vote for Obama as Romeny, Santorum or Gingrich.

Ron Paul is the ONLY Republican that can attract the independents and some Democrats. The GOP Establishment must know this, but they are more committed to protecting the current agenda of robbery and perpetual undeclared war than to victory in the election. Rank and file Republicans had better wake up to the fact the the GOP Establishment is a Fifth Column in the Party.

The Party bosses prefer defeat to Constitutional government.

The campaign should advertise the CBS poll

The poll showing Paul, Romney, and Obama in a statistical dead heat would bring in all those people who WANT to vote for him, and want an alternative to Romney, but are afraid to do it. That would settle the electability question.

It was up on their web site

Before the primary it was pushed in the blog and news releases.

I agree it should be worked into an ad in South Carolina though. Along with "I served".
