Iowa you broke it, you own it

How can Iowa elect a man with 1/3 the IQ of Dr. Ron Paul ?
Does this country deserve Ron Paul as president ?

san francisco a factor

The California Republican presidential primaries are no longer winner take all.
So, one gets the same number of delegates for taking San Francisco in the primary as for taking orange county.

I've seen this quote a million times...

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
-mark twain

But now I am really understanding it...

Ron Paul people take note.

I live in a rural county in Iowa. I have been calling Republican voters since Oct. Just so everyone out there knows, there were many many Ron Paul supporters who told me they liked RP, but said they were not going to the caucus. If they had attended, I believe he could have come in 2nd instead of being in a close 3 way tie for 3rd. Reasons for not attending were many:

Will be busy
Will be out of town
Will be on a flight back to school
And the most common and most sickening reason of all-
It's a wasted vote. He can't win...Well you wasted your vote by not attending the caucus. You people who had all these excuses, YOU blew it for your children and grandchildren.

For the rest of this nation I'm telling you, We could win this. But you can't sit at home. You can't make silly excuses for not going. Don't be like these people here in Iowa.

And to all the Iowa Ron Paul supporters who showed up for our man, thank you. Actually, even with these Iowa slackers, Ron Paul did great considering he is rarely mentioned in the news.

I did my part for the country(Disabled veteran) Now Do Yours!

Like you said" Can't win/wasted vote, why bother voting"....GRRRRRRRRR!
Why can't these people do theirs, for the rest of us, and get out of their easy chairs, put the remote down, and actually do something rather than make up excuses?

Guess they want a draft in 09?
All talk, no action. Then they cry and complain when things aren't going the way they wished they would(because they did not take action, when action was needed, not just talking, or voting on AOL Polls only!).

Religion won!

War mongers won! These are likely those "proud americans" still behind dubbya.

Tonight was a cold cold shower! Sometimes it's good to get a cold shower. It energizes you!

Let's think ahead and forget about IA! Chins up!

To New Hampshire in 5 days!!!

Misdiagnosis

IQ is not the issue. Intelligence is not the issue. Iowa may be provincial--America may be provincial.

We need to figure out how to appeal to these people. Dr. Paul's integrity, his practical Christianity, his pro-life stance need to be highlighted.

We have to get the evangelicals, especially the leaders This article is excellent--posted today:

What about going to the churches with literature--Ron Paul is the logical choice for Christians.

http://revolutionradio.org/2008/01/03/an-open-letter-to-amer...

I'd be careful about diagnosis...

...after all, VOTE COUNT is the only thing that matters. If you can't verify the vote, you can't rightly say people voted the way the results are reported.

One possible scenario is Huckabee becomes President, then goes on a tyranny spree and we, the people blame the "dumb religious" people for voting blindly. However, without verifying the vote right from the start, we misdiagnose and the religious people are "persecuted". Let's focus on VERIFYING THE VOTE.

A fellow from Lyons county in Iowa was on the conference call tonight. He reported Hunter got 9 votes from his precinct and that CNN reported Hunter received ZERO votes. This is a clear case of fraud which affects everyone, including our Dr. Paul.

The flow of information goes from precinct > Iowa GOP > AP > CNN. Conclusion: after the votes left the precinct, they changed. If this info is correct, you can see where the problem starts.

It's important to have transparency through eye witnesses, affidavits, even audio and video recording devices, and act on them immediately if there is a discrepancy. We must have irrefutable evidence and report it immediately, else the media will use it's influence people that everything is fine. Everything is NOT fine - we mustn't let our votes be stolen!

Sorry but born-again and evangelicals are not logical!

If they were the universe would be older that 6000 years!

Please! There's no excuse for self-imposed ignorance!!!

The Segment (larger than Evangelicals) is Catholics

That's where Dr. Paul could really pick up Christian votes. But it would take a tone-down of the libertarian rhetoric that scares many Catholics (remember these are people who have been slowly shedding Democrat historical ties for decades). The emphasis would have to be on the pragmatic aspects of libertarianism: greater emphasis on local govermnent versus federal government (it's called subsidiarity in Catholic thought); fiscal responsibility (called stewardship); his pro-life position (called culture of life); his anti-war position (called the just war theory); etc. What won't win you Catholics is phrases like "military-industrial complex", "statism", "the state is evil", etc. But if you can convince them to be pragmatic and concrete (i.e., no way is Dr. Paul going to be able, as President, to enact the libertarian's wet dream of a government) versus theoretical and abstract, they might see him as a real candidate. Catholics have been bemoaning for close to 12 years now the fact that they feel trapped with no options in either party. There's a good chunk of them that are ripe for the message if it's delivered properly.

Sigh...

Put me in the camp of "illogical" then. You may have spawned from plankton, but I was created. Why don't you keep your anti-religeous rants to yourself and focus on including everyone in Ron Paul's tent.

We could call a truce.

No more Christian/creation bashing AND no more bible quotes.

Hear, hear!

Let's all tip a cold one to a recital of Thomas Paine's "The Age of Reason".

Postville

Read the book " Postville". All will be clear about Iowa. My husband brought the book home last year & we recognized so many of the attitudes & how provincial that area of the country is. We lived 17 years in Nebraska & it is very similar--- quite a change for 2 people who grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. Anyway, I highly recommend this book.

I disagree

I don't think New Hampshire is our last hope. We got cash and support in other places.

Yes I think thats the case

I've seen a lot of support on the West Coast. I was in San Francisco 3 or 4 weeks ago and I so several signs for Ron Paul in 1 day. I lived there for 10 years and I never saw a sign for a Republican.

In CA though - San Fran won't be a factor...

... or other dem strongholds. Orange County and Farming Counties in the middle of the state elect the republicans.

Too bad, because the San Frans would be sympathetic to the war stance, the 'government should get out of regulating marriage' stance and the marijuana position.

Probably not so much on gun issue or eliminating social programs.

The Democrat's dream come true. Do you believe it?

Huckabee?
The poll numbers end up being amazingly accurate? Do you believe it?
Does Iowa even have internet?

It is any wonder why the

It is any wonder why the elites have contempt for ordinary Americans?

Food for thought. Why didn't you support Ron Paul in 1988? Maybe this is the reason Iowans didn't vote for him today...

I'd have had his baby

If I came across Ron Paul in 1988 I'd have offered him my womb and I was only 17 that year. That was the year I changed everything. I knew something was not real with reality and I decided to find out the truth. I am a very sad but wiser person now. Islam is the truth, but where are the Muslims. I think they are the Italians. That is how confused I am...

Is why Im leaving the Country too.

In a nut shell. Dont feel bad about it. Lets work on NH. But remember that the majority deserves the government they elect. Its a reflection of them with more power. The power of the Government. Lets do better in NH. Nuff Said.

After this election I am considering leaving the country also.

Becoming a bartender in a resort hotel in a tropical country really seems attractive lol. I will fight this until the end for Dr. Paul but really I may come up with a plan to eventually get out of the USA.

And let me tellya why

Another of his Gomer Pyle statements.

Personally, I've just lost a lot of respect for many Iowans. I commend the ones that have done their research and voted for the good Doctor. When they are going to a funeral for their sons and daughters fighting in the Mid-East or wonder where their rights have gone when they get tased, I hope they remember their ingenious decision to vote for Gomer and the store items he made them pay for.

Gomer won't win, but it disgusts me how so many people have no clue what is really going on, and many, not willing to listen.

KEEP IN MIND---LITTLE EXPOSURE

No media...or bad media. On ground troops only===can't reach everyone in Iowa.

Got to get the message out.

I asked a cabbie here in Boston yesterday. "Do you know RP" He replied "never heard of him."

Why I live in the Bahamas

Why I live in the Bahamas

Why I left twice! First

Why I left twice! First time for Germany 10 years, then came back , remembered my reasons again and left again for Panama this time. I'm looking for a reason to come back again and this is NOT an encouraging sign!

Never Voted for a Winner

I always vote for the loser, but I still love Ron and I don't care. Thats the difference between a movement and an election.

Good luck Ron in New Hampshire. New Hampshire, you are our last hope!

NH is NOT our last hope

NH and IA combined have only about 1% of the US population. Symbolic significance yes---our only hopes, absolutely NOT. We've beaten the conventional wisdom silly so far. IF we play our cards right we'll do so in the long run, too. Don't get discouraged--get going! It seems to me (and several Iowans that I visited with there) that the campaign made some serious strategic and tactical mistakes in Iowa; hopefully we have learned from them and will do better next go around. There are, what?--WY, ME, NV, MI, SC, and FL coming rifght up as well as NH. Then there's Super Tuesday, then there's another 20 or so states after that! The race is not to the swift, but to the sure. Let's run and not be weary!
