Norquist: Romney Needs Ron Paul's Endorsement to Win in 2012

Mitt Romney now has three decisions to make: One, who is his vice-presidential candidate? Two, who will be his chief of staff? Three, how will he convince Ron Paul to speak from the main stage at the GOP national convention?

There is only one endorsement that Mitt Romney needs between now and November 2012. The only endorsement that would bring votes, support, and party unity: Rep. Ron Paul’s. It is wasteful to leave the energy, votes, and enthusiasm outside; suicidal to drive it into a a third-party movement.

The corrupt just don't get it.

We won't sell out or compromise.
We won't sell our children into slavery.
We won't settle for anything less than restoring our constitutional republic.

We won't take their bait. We mean it when we say there is no difference between Obama, Mitt, Newt, Rick (or even Jeb). We saw others of both parties run on platforms promising no nation building, open and transparent government, ending these wars, etc. We even have witnessed them give lip-service to the Constitution on occasion.

We are tired of lies, tired of government in every part of our lives, tired of two-faced sell-outs selling our freedoms for 30 pieces of silver (or more aptly stated 30 FRNs).

I will never vote for evil by voting for the lesser of 2 evils. You still get evil and evil begets evil. Corruption begets corruption.

Already Setting us up For Blame

Should Mitt get the nomination and then go down in flames in November, as he is bound to do, the GOP will need a fall guy.

And who better to serve that purpose than the dastardly Ron Paul and his evil minions?

Why, I can see Paul now with his long black coat and top hat, twirling his evil mustache as he ties poor little Mittens to the train tracks. Shortly thereafter, the Obama train rolls right over him.

Well then old Mitt's up $hit creek...because that's one endorsement he will never get. Never.

I simply will not

cast my vote to elect anyone who is a part of the Federal Reserve Note Party.

Someone who says they would have signed NDAA2012

the only way

I could support this (maybe) is if Romney agrees to let Dr Paul oversee a full audit of the Federal Reserve.
But if he did that THEY wouldn't let Romney win.

Romney/Paul 2012, or it's Obama/Biden again.

The only way I vote from Romney is if Ron Paul is VP; or if Ron Paul reluctantly has Mitt Romney as his VP.

Any other way and I write in Ron Paul.

Paul ante portas.

I'm right there

with you.. I'll have to check on the constitution party candidate but other than that.. I'll will not hold my nose and vote.. I WILL VOTE FOR SOMEONE I BELIEVE IN!! If I have to write their name in.

Ut uh!

No way Charlie!

Another thing. This Sarah Palin thing. Keeps pushing Newt. By her doing this. She is stripping Ron Paul of Tea Party votes. People that would not vote for Romney. Would be split between Frothy and Ron Paul. She has to come out for her choice. The Newted. Or shut her freakin Pie Hole!Show her true colors. She know his veiws on abortion, Amnesty, Healt care and so forth. She is just trying to get the party to national convention without one person with all the delegates. So she can be placed in the ring and try to become the nominie. She has lost all confidence in her words. Time to show what a ditz this lady is. Anyone with a knowledge of videos could put together a montage showing Newts stances alongside hers and put it out and ask why?

She was moot the second she signed on with McCain. I couldn't believe how dumb some people were to trust her after that. She HAD to be co-opted to do that !

They might get it because he might be saying

that Mitt will have to offer an import position in his administration, maybe even VP, to get our votes. But I doubt that it is going to happen (esp. the VP slot).

the VP doesn't have any power.

The horror

"Dear loyal rEVOLution supporters,

After 30 years of sticking to my guns, being laughed at for having non-status quo beliefs, being abused by the establishment and the media for sticking to my principals, after persistently voting 500-1 to support the constitution, and having iron strong conviction in non-aggression principles, against legalized mass-murder, and being against a criminal central banking system...

I'm throwing it all away at the last minute so I can support Mitt Romney, in the hopes that some votes in this one presidential election will favor the establishment Republican instead an identical establishment Democrat."

They don't get it! Unlike other supporters, we are individualist

I don't believe Ron Paul would endorse Romney, but even if he did that doesn't mean most of us would follow his lead.

We are unique in that we don't blindly follow anyone even our beloved Dr. Paul. We aren't like a typical party who will support our leader no matter what. We are supporting the message of liberty.

Ron Paul can ask me to vote for

Romney or any other GOP and it is NOT going to happen.
I will not vote for anyone other than Paul.
I will vote third party again - if I don't write in Paul.
Even if they stick RP in their administration I don't think that will merit my voting for a war monger president.
Just not going to happen.

No Way!

The thought of Ron Paul endorsing Romney or being his V.P. makes me sick.
If this is how it will end, we might as well forget about the money bombs.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

I am with you - endorsing romney is disgusting.

Any deals or alignment with Romney is disgusting and will not work - Romney and his establishment team are good power brokers and I do not want to see Paul getting underhanded and Romney backstab him as soon as he gets what he wants from Paul. He has been running for 7 years, it is ludicrous that anything new he says now is credible and trustworthy.

I don't get this - Paul supporters should have a zero effect

as I've read on here, no Paul supporters are going to vote for either Romney nor Obama, so the election tallies wouldn't sway one way or the other; we would just count all along with all the people who didn't bother to vote come November.

If Romney does some sort of hail mary type play at the end where he promises Paul supporters something he 1) could never concede enough (he's going to go anti-war and anti-fed??? That would be table stakes, the minimum) and 2) we wouldn't believe him for a second.

Also, this population isn't just reformed republicans. There's some progressives and libertarians on board, and probably many republicans who don't just find this a temporary, cozy alternative.

With this, wouldn't Obama be just as big an actor to make the same bogus promise to us? Would you find it any less disingenuous if anti-fed, anti-war promises came out of his mouth? These promises should be MORE credible from a theoretical progressive.

I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this. I know it is sexy to think that we have power to swing if Paul isn't the nominee, but I don't see where it exist unless we're actually sway-able as a collective towards a politician's sudden disingenuous change of heart and some sloganing.

I'll try to make this brief.

The RNC, Republican leadership, and the rest of the neocons are a completely corrupt organization.
They are liar, thieves, cheaters, underhanded operators, backroom dealers, double-crossers, etc.

They have no credibility, honor, and can never be trusted under any circumstances.

Therefore, any compromise with them on any subject is the same as total capitulation, because they will never honor anything that they promise to.
They will give lip-service to the speech, maybe. And they will act sort if accommodating up until the election, so that they can fool as many voters as possible with their scheme.
If they do win and get into power, there will be a total purge of all RP supporters out of the party like you have never seen. Everybody who even talked about RP will be thrown under the bus.
They are the epitome of evil, and that is what they will do. You can expect it.
Because that is what they are.

They will not have to

They will not have to "purge" me, I'll be long gone from the Republican Party. Like so many, I'm only registered "R" because of Ron Paul. Without Dr. Paul there is, imo, no reputable Republican Party.

Right, they sold out

And they are not capable of understanding why they can't get the RP supporters to. That's the way the game has been played for decades. They think they can toss us a crumb and have RP give a speech at the convention and we all fall in line and vote Republican? Grover Norquist is absolutely correct, they can't win without RP supporters, the only way that happens is to have RP at the top of the ticket, IMO.

Norquist: GOP Should Let Paul Speak at Convention

"If Ron Paul speaks at the GOP convention (as he was not invited to do in 2008), the party will be united and Romney will win in November 2012. If Ron Paul speaks only at his own rally in Tampa, Florida (as happened at the 2008 GOP convention in Minnesota) the party will not be at full strength.

"Gingrich, Santorum and Rick Perry divided up 20% of the New Hampshire vote – less than either Romney or Ron Paul received. They will now divide the non-Romney, non-Ron Paul vote in South Carolina.

"Unless something else happens."

I think we'll see rapture

I think we'll see rapture before Romney gets the golden endorsement of Congressman Ron Paul.

Norquist and Romney will be left behind
