South Carolina- Influential State Senator Tom Davis Will Announce his Endorsement; Hints at Paul! Could be Huge...

From his Facebook:

In the next few days, I'm going to announce support for the one candidate in the race for president who has consistently stood for taxpayers- one who has a plan to balance the budget RIGHT NOW.

And from an article about the upcoming endorsement:

"He supported interventionist policies in lending, TARP and ethanol subsidies, and he seems to support currency manipulation instead of sound money,” Davis wrote of Romney on his Facebook page earlier this month. “Do we really know what we would get with a President Romney?”

(full article here: http://www.fitsnews.com/2012/01/11/tom-davis-to-endorse-in-s...

Folks, if those (and other subtle indications from his Facebook posts) don't point to a Paul endorsement, I don't know what does...

This could be a BIG boost.

UPDATE: He posted this on Facebook Tuesday!!!:

I just enrolled in a course offered by the Mises Academy on Ludwig von Mises’ classic work, "Theory of Money & Credit." Attention will be focused on Mises' theory of value to money and development of (what we now call) Austrian business cycle theory. I highly recommend the academy's courses. I took one on Rothbard's "Man, Economy and State" last fall and loved it.

OK... so what's...

... the delay? Time is of the essence, Senator. These people in power always wait for the "sun to stand still," before they make their momentous statements. Spit it out! Don't talk in riddles. Tell us straight and tell us now.

Agreed... to an extent. The

Agreed... to an extent.

The tease is news in and of itself, which garners more attention to the eventual endorsement. This maximizes the impact from a marketing standpoint when he does finally make the announcement.

There's also strategy involved. If he announces TOO soon, some of the lesser informed may be swayed momentarily, but there will be too much time for them to be influenced back against Paul by mainstream media lies and deceit. If he holds it until a certain closeness to the election, those types will not have time to be brainwashed backwards...

All speculation, of course, but things to consider.

That being said, I wish he'd just come out with it already.

Looks like Tom Davis is now

Looks like Tom Davis is now an Austrian. I hereby welcome Tom to the revolution for Liberty, Freedom, and Peace. Then Prosperity.

Is that a whistle in the distance I'm hearing?

Could it be the Paul Train headed to SC??
All aboard!!

I've read in some of the comments below that say it could possibly be Bachmann or Perry. I don't believe he has left any window open for any other candidate other than Ron Paul.

So here's what I gather (Jay, thanks for posting by the way)
Consistently stood for taxpayers = only Ron Paul
Balance the budget right now = only Ron Paul

Romney view and contrast
interventionist foreign policy / non interventionist Ron Paul *ding! ding! ding!*
Tarp bailout support / hell no vote from Ron Paul
manipulated currency / sound money preachin' good Dr.

There's no mistaking that one! Get ready, here it comes!!

Bachmann likes to read Von

Bachmann likes to read Von Mises on the beach. Are we sure he's not endorsing her?

She's

out of the race.

how "influential" is davis in SC ?

how popular is he? what percentage of the vote did he get when he was elected? does he have a very pro-liberty voting record ?

Endorsement at Rally on Saturday????

That would explain Why they opted out of the televised debate on saturday with Huckaby. This endorsement in SC will dwarf the debate in the news there.

Ron Paul 2012

"Got Liberty"?

Alright, the dude's an

Alright, the dude's an AUSTRIAN. We got it in the bag already. Why the hell doesn't he just endorse now? Is it better that he wait?

RIGHT...Now is better than later.

Do it now and every day till the election...Jeez it's not like he's getting the word of God etched in stone...

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

Still a politician

Wants to get maximum impact...get it on TV....WE want that, too!

OK, wow, I'm getting excited now

This does seem to point to a Paul endorsement, and now that I know more about Davis: this could be the biggest news of tomorrow.

The only possible wrinkle I see is that he said his choice has a plan to balance the budget "right now"; Ron's plan doesn't (quite) do that. But, nobody else has a plan that even approaches that, right?

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.

Yes. No one else (of course)

Yes. No one else (of course) is proposing anything even remotely close to Paul's $1 trillion in year one, which almost balances the budget - surely that's what the Senator is referencing. "Right now" is just a figure of speech - I mean, even if Paul were balancing the budget in year one, it would be 2013, not literally RIGHT NOW, LOL.

Hints

Here's some other subtle hints:

Here's a tweet he made 6 hours ago:

@senatortomdavis Mitt, Paul winning Facebook Primary http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0112/71345.html

And also, from 12 hours ago:

@senatortomdavis I am not a fan of Mitt Romney's, but Newt Gingrich is way off base with this particular criticism. Looting? Give... http://fb.me/Ngbxkq39

@senatortomdavis Yes. Paul's plan to drastically reduce the size of government and increase individual liberty should be embraced by the GOP.

And....if you have free time, there's a lot of Ron Paul retweets from before Jan. 11th.

Also interesting, these are the number of times a candidate's name appears on his Twitter feed between Jan. 10th and now by tweet or retweet:

Paul - 50
Romney - 8
Santorum - 2
Gingrich - 1
Huntsman - 0
Perry - 0

Jan. 5th:
I don't think Romney wins the SC primary or, if he does, such will inconclusive as in Iowa. He received only 15% of the vote in the 2008 SC primary, and his poll numbers this time around have flat-lined at 20% for the past few months. People here know him well, and that seems to be his level of support (or "ceiling," as the pundits like to say). I think Gingrich, Paul, Romney and Santorum all end up within five points, plus or minus, of 20% when the votes are cast on January 21.

I just made..

.. a special request. You know...

This guy is the real deal. I

This guy is the real deal. I just read a couple of SC articles about him and he is true blue. He is DEFINITELY endorsing the good doctor - and it will be HUGE. Go tO his Facebook page and "Like" it now. https://www.facebook.com/senatortomdavis?ref=ts&sk=wall

Yes, lets give him the DP

Yes, lets give him the DP bump with 10,000 likes so he knows the people are behind him when he sticks his neck out against the establishment!

Just to give you a heads up...

If he isn't talking about Paul, I think he would be talking about Perry because Perry said something about "Currency Wars" the book and acknowledge Paul as the person who opened his eyes about that topic. So it's doubtful that Perry could be the one, but it's also possible...

That's not hitting about endorsing... that's applying for VP!!!

Who CARES!!!!!

Am I supposed to be impressed by some politician's "endorsement"?

Does he expect a fanfare of trumpets to announce his decision?

It's even funnier when some news-paper says that they are endorsing a certain candidate.

People- think for yourselves!

Billy Jack's picture

It matters in the world as it

It matters in the world as it is, not in the world as it should be. And this particular one seems to mean more than any other in SC, including the sellout governor (she got 36,000 from Romney PACs for her 2010 election).

Cos Cob, CT

Biggest mistake people make

Biggest mistake people make is applying THEIR thinking onto others. You are making that mistake. Because you devote your life to Ron PAul and research doesn't mean everyone else does. They do NOT! They listen to the media and influential people.

And try to be more positive... Miss. Debbie Downer..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Alright, I'll be more positive!

I'm positive it's really rediculous to be influenced by the aforementioned.

Are people really as stupid as you make them out to be?

Wow

RS,

This is politics....

And there are many people out there who will vote for a candidate because that candidate was endorsed by their senator or congressman.

Get out of your head and into the heads of the sheeple

"think for yourselves" works for about 10% of us, maybe.

The rest are sheeple. Endorsements like this help.

Yes

However we need the sheep to be lead by leaders.

I look at it this way. I've had a dozen of my friends tell me that they will vote for Ron Paul because of my passionate support --- and they haven't even really looked into him yet. Is that ideal? No. But their votes count just as much as mine, and so I will take it for now.
