Video: CNN reporter Dana Bash gets "Snowballed" by Ron Paul supporters
Submitted by Ron Paul Films on Fri, 01/13/2012 - 02:31in
Here's our video of CNN reporter Dana Bash receiving some choice words from supporters after the primary rally on January 10th in NH. Perhaps Ms. Bash should have taken notes from Sean Hannity before maligning the good doctor:

Shaming her was the right thing to do.
I don't feel sorry for this "objective" journalist one tiny bit. Why shouldn't viewers and voters speak their mind about those "journalists" who are part of the propaganda machine? The MSM is evil and is responsible for promoting a very evil agenda of wars and economic warfare on the middle class. They need to have all their shenanigans and inconsistencies pointed out. These people, even the lady who was a bit emotional, did not appear as crazed and hateful idiots but as frustrated individuals who took the time to call Bash out on her bias. It was actually good for her to see that these people were normal people from every age and background and not crazed people sending hate emails. They all covered important aspects of her bad reporting and if that is the kind of reporting she opts to do then she will hear about it from those who disagree with it. If she can't take the heat for her opinions then she shouldn't give them. I hope people will continue to call her out on her propaganda and will share the criticism with any other reporters who are part of the propaganda machine. The disinformation is wrecking our country.
Great video
It's nice to see the tables being turned once in a while. And I'm glad someone asked her about the "I'm worried too" comment. It's too bad she lied about it.
We should do this wherever there is a network station on air
her insanity makes it almost laughable
The role of a farmer, in Fukuoka's mind, is an observer, not an intervener, of the natural order in his/her particular landscape. How is that any different than Hayek in regards to Economics?
Politics 101: Cultivate the press, don't antagonize them
Criticize the "media" all you want, but when you're dealing with an individual you will win them over by praising their good work rather than insulting their bad work.
I can't imagine a more counter-productive effort than trying to make an enemy out of the correspondent who filters the Paul campaign for CNN viewers every day.
I agree with this to a point.
Correspondents like Bash have huge egos. If you want to gain instant access to their ears, force a glib compliment on the one redeeming factor you can find in the person. Once they have let their defenses down, you can then proceed with your logical debate. I certainly wish people luck with this daunting task.
Labels divide us. Find common ground and build coalitions, but don't compromise! (I heard that from some guy somewhere.)
I've heard Jesse Benton say that too
But the ECHO echo echo chamber here of course doesn't like dissenting views. your comment contributes to the discussion in a meaningful way so it shouldn't be blindly downvoted.
That was a terrible, terrible peice..
I second that notion!!
Except for the first woman,
I think they were all pretty calm.
But I have to think that she totally hates her job right now, and is likely too damaged by the backlash personally and professionally to be able to be believable as "objective" anymore.
If instead she were to be able to come to believe that we are willing to be as objective about her reporting as she claims to be about Dr. Paul, perhaps the relationship may be mended over time.
When she slipped up about being worried about Ron's campaign "dragging on," I could only think that she already hated her job, and could feel her hopes for a short gig dissipating.
Now it's even worse. So we have to follow the Doc, and Golden Rule and Forgive our way on through this. CNN will never be, and CAN never be on our side. Even if corporate isn't dictating to her, it has to at least be in the back of her mind that she is walking a fine line.

Defending Bash (fixed link)
In my post below I botched the link and can no longer edit that post to fix it. Here it is:

There are two possible ways to interpret this:
The idea that anyone who has sat through more than a week of any journalism class intended to convey with these words the meaning in #2 is absurd.

says who?
I think you made a good analysis, Minarchist
I watched both videos...the one in question regarding her quote "I am worried as well"...and the video in this thread with the supporters coming up to her voicing their complaints.
I agree with your assessment that Mrs. King (Bash) meant to say, "just like I am talking to Republicans who are worried as well,"...and only she and God really knows the truth.
What I do know is... "to the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact both their minds and consciences are corrupted." (Titus 1:15).
I appreciate that you choose to look for the good...to give the benefit of the doubt to a person...and this quality is what I love about Dr. Paul too...he continually is wanting to see the good and 'overcome evil with good'.
I understand why many feel frustrated and want to confront those they feel have continually marginalized Dr. Paul.... and yet I do not agree with intimidating a journalist to the point where they actually feel 'fear' and are 'scared'. After watching Dana, I felt she kept a tremendous amount of composure and actually did listen to those that expressed their concerns politely.
Dana Bash has also got to understand that many have legitimate concerns with her abiltity to be 'objective', considering her family relationships...(her father executive producer for GMA on ABC...ex husband chief of staff for Leon Panetta in both the CIA and Defense Dept. ...her mother a very active supporter of Israel).
Dr.Paul always handles himself with the utmost of grace towards journalists....wanting to woo them...win them over to the cause of liberty...my prayer is that all those who support Dr. Paul would also be aware of their actions and how their actions will be scrutinized by the press and will be used against Dr. Paul and the Liberty movement.
Peace.

Oh, I agree with you
I have no doubt that she meant to say "just like I am talking to them" (as in your point number 1). Nevertheless, I can't say that I don't feel some glee about this - maybe this will teach them how it is when someone's words are misinterpreted and twisted around as they have done 1000 times over with RP.
Okay
That's a much more reasonable approach, and dovetails with my hope that our reaction (arguably over-reaction) will do more good than harm.
1. The good is that it might make them be more careful.
2. The harm is that they think we're stupid and disrespect us.
Hopefully there is more of (1) than (2).

go for choice 2, why the long-face? Maybe next you can defend Ann Coulter or Megyn Kelly but so far you're 0 for 1. RP2012 No Time For CNN Hacks!

Nobody's defending anyone as
Nobody's defending anyone as a person or a reporter. We're just pointing out the fact that a lie is a lie and she didn't say what you're all claiming she said. Plain and simple.

I beg to differ Minarchist, I
I beg to differ Minarchist, I think fairness, as in how WE deal with HER is at issue here. She used sloppy grammar perhaps, but she didn't AT ALL say what some of us are claiming she said. When pressed, they suddenly say, "well, she's just been hostile overall..." Sure, I'd agree with that, but to claim she said she's "worried" about Dr Paul succeeding is just stupid. You have to seriously feign ignorance of the English language itself to make that leap. It just saddens me that so many are willing to lie to make a point.
okay, it is about fairness
It is unfair to treat her this way, but I wouldn't go so far as to say people are lying in order to make their point.
It seems to me that the (wrong) interpretation was genuine.
What I'm bothered by is that when we point out the error in the interpretation, many here seem to not want to hear the obvious truth. That's not a good trait, and is contrary to Paul's approach and philosophy.

I only took ENGLISH classes
so maybe you are right, considering the pathetic state of journalism today, but anybody who took ENGLISH classes would find interpretation #1 to be the absurd one.

This is what I posted:
Thank you, everyone who spoke to her. You should have asked "Dana, suppose you were applying for a job, and all we said to your future employer was that you'd screwed your way into all your jobs and that there wasn't a brain underneath all your dyed, fake hair? How about if we said that over & over everywhere you applied for a job, and instead recommended Kim Kardashian as a reporter & EXTOLLED her incredible reportorail abilities? How'd you like that?"
What!!
She said: I actually say it's almost like the uh, Arab-Israeli conflict. They don't see anything else".
I like it!! We are not going to "see" anthing else either!
Go on President Paul!!
Bash did not say she was worried about Ron Paul
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=keD...
She says to John King, "I'm sure you talk to Republicans, who are worried about him, just like I am...".
The "just like I am" meant "just like I am talking to Republicans", not "just like I am worried about him".
In other words:
She might be biased against Ron Paul, but this particular statement is not evidence of that.
Using this against her is exactly the kind of semantic game-playing stunt some people use against Paul. Not to mention that it makes us look stupid and lose respect. To think that a reporter like Bash could possibly even mean to express her personal opinion like that in this kind of report reveals a shocking naivete.
As user RedDot said below:
Let's stay on the high road folks. That's Ron Paul's road, after all.

Wow, I honestly expected more
Wow, I honestly expected more from our community here. If you persist in attacking rather that winning over this woman WHO's WITH US FOR THE DURATION, you're not doing Dr Paul any service here.
She was not attacked by Ron Paul supporters.
They were very courteous, IMO. They only held her accountable. That is all they did.
Thanks for the support and
and thanks for not using profanity in this post. It would be nice if you continued to do both.
Thanks!
