Video: CNN reporter Dana Bash gets "Snowballed" by Ron Paul supporters

Here's our video of CNN reporter Dana Bash receiving some choice words from supporters after the primary rally on January 10th in NH. Perhaps Ms. Bash should have taken notes from Sean Hannity before maligning the good doctor:

I respect what you're trying to say

We need to be calm and respectful like the good Doc to win people over. He is a good example for us.

Having said that, anyone who blatantly lies and attempts to manipulate the perception of people is going to be called out and stood up to, hopefully in a professional manner like in the video above. The American people are making the phrase "home of the brave" relevant. Get up stand up.

haven't you made your point already red dot?

I mean really, how many posts do you have on this thread?

it's obvious there are a lot of strong feelings in that . . .

room, but I felt that the RP supporters handled themselves well--

as for Ms. Bash--

well . . ., I didn't construe her original words that way; it sounded as though SHE were worried about Dr. Paul getting the nomination. Journalists aren't that poor in speaking; they can't be--but oh well.

I would have lost my temper, which is why I stay out of those rooms. Stay on 'boards' where I can edit my words--LOL!

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Bash Unabashedly Biased

That one "worried" line (which may or may not have been misinterpreted) may have been the spark, but it certainly is NOT the only fuel Dana has provided against herself. Dana Bash (and CNN as a whole) is most unabashedly biased.

How about the question bringing up a single attendee who whined about not getting to meet Dr. Paul after the media flash mob crowded out all the supporters, knocked over tables, exceeded safe capacity, shoved his wife, even had a cameraman trying to start a fist fight. Rather than discuss the media flash mob and its terrible behavior or any of the scores of actual supporters willing to crawl over broken glass in support of the message, she singles out one non-supporter whose sole concern was her own selfish desires over the safety of anyone else or Dr. Paul. Is that objective? How about the repeated third party questions? What is the motive of doing so over and over again? How about her just dismissing out of hand all of the feedback she just received simply by irrationally labeling them all blind and saying it was a Palestine-Israeli issue. Huh? What in the world does that have to do with the pointing out her lack of objectivity? And she certainly has no idea what issues are of concern to the speakers. The economy, economic collapse, the federal reserve system, monetary destruction, excessive spending, accelerating deficits, spiraling debt, preemptive warfare, nuclear first strikes, nuclear war, NDAA, indefinite detention, end of Habeas Corpus, end of due process, SOPA, Patriot Act, ….. Of all the issues of concern, the Palestine-Israel issue is way down the list of importance if it is a concern at all. What Dana is doing is projection. She is projecting her concern as everyone else’s. Blind describes her willfully refusing to objectively listen to the feedback or objectively review her and CNN’s reporting and interviewing.

How would you like others to twist Ron Paul's words?

Golden Rule folks - let's not twist her clumsy words, because we wouldn't want others to twist Ron Paul's words if he happened to say something a little clumsily.

Be smart.

They do it all the time, Bash included.

Besides, if she had a consistent and principled record of objective journalism, then people would be less inclined to misconstrue her phrasing.

It's the fact that she is already obviously anti-Paul and not objective that her comment was taken that way, and it won't die.

Not fair is attacking someone

Not fair is attacking someone because of the way they look.

Fair is attacking their positions when they are wrong or biased.

Dana Bash did not say she's worried about Ron Paul

If you watch that video closely and take her comments in context, she's saying that she too is hearing from Republicans who say they are worried about Ron Paul.

We should give reporters the benefit of the doubt. They are people and therefore biased, but so are we. With our bias it's very easy to watch that piece and misunderstand what she said. Now, try to be objective and watch it again.

She says to John King, "I'm sure you talk to Republicans, who are worried about him, just like I am..."

The "just like I am" meant "just like I am talking to Republicans", not "just like I am worried about him".

Duh.

It's a poorly constructed sentence, to be sure, but it's clear what she meant, if you put your bias aside.

We're not winning helping Ron Paul by misrepresenting what she said here.

I think you are reaching here...

If she had said "I'm sure you talk to republicans, just as I DO, who are worried about him", then that would be one thing, but she didn't say that and I don't think that is what she meant.

You actually misquoted her in your defense. YOU SAY that she said "I'm sure you talk to Republicans, who are worried about him, just like I am...", but what she ACTUALLY SAID was "I'm sure you talk to republicans who are worried as well, just like I am, that Ron Paul will continue on..." The "just like I am" followed "are worried about him as well", not "you talk to republicans". The "am" clearly refers to the descriptor "worried", especially when she says "as well", and does not refer not to the verb "talk" (which would have called for the word "do", not "am").

If she is supposed to be taken as some sort of professional journalist who doe LIVE reporting, she ought to know how to communicate clearly. If she doesn't then she deserves all the flak she is getting over the comment. Do you have a clip where she clarifed that she meant something other than what SHE SAID? You appear to be bending over backwards to defend her while suggesting her critics are biased. Why?

You're Wrong!

If she'd meant she was talking to other Republicans who are worried about Paul like she apparently is, she would have said " Just like I have " ... not ... " Just like I am ".

If she'd meant that, she would have said "I'm sure [you're] talking to other Republicans, who are worried about him, just like I am"

She flat out says "Just like I *** AM ***", as in she herself is worried about Ron Paul going on.

She's not saying he's talked to other Republicans just like she has, she's saying she herself is worried.

That B**ch got what she deserved, not only for that one liner, but for many other times she's pulled the same crap.

Stop thinking that you are so

Stop thinking that you are so clever for pointing out grammatical inconsistencies. It doesn't matter.

The argument is not that she formed a perfectly good English sentence. The argument is that she awkwardly phrased a sentence. People do that. There is clearly another way to interpret what she intended, therefore no excuse for blowing it out of proportion.

The grammar even doesn't matter, but you are not even right! There is not a problem with her saying "just like I am" if she is currently talking to Republicans. She is. She is currently on the ground reporting, talking to Republicans -not back in the studio. Perfectly fine tense to use.

The problem is that people want to hate her so much and want to catch her in something like this that they will betray their own better judgment and convince themselves this was intentional. This is just like how Glenn Beck and Hannity rile up anger with their listeners against Dr. Paul. Forgive me for not wanting to be like them.

Videos that intentionally chop her sentences up to mislead are only fueling this fire.

It is clear that she does not like Ron Paul, and it is fair to question her about frivolous and misleading questions in interviews, but lay off this nonsense.

Dana Bash can clarify on air

I didn't vote the comment down. Dana Bash can clarify her ambiguous comment about Ron Paul. Instead she leaves everyone who pays attention to the dubious media coverage to wonder.

If you're going to vote this down

Please comment and explain why.

Two sophisticated trolls..

Three trolls actually, "iowakureba" added.

our disgust for Dana Bash

our disgust for Dana Bash goes far past one comment. It's a multitude of comments and questions. If you support Bash around here, don't be surprised if you get lots of minuses.

“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy.”
― Ron Paul

So therefore anything that

So therefore anything that demonizes Dana Bash is OK, whether true or not? You are letting your hatred take over your rational thought. That is exactly the way the Republicans and Democrats act. I thought this place was different.

What do you mean true or not?

What do you mean true or not? Are you still trying to reason over that one comment? Most of us don't even care about that comment, it's the hundred other ones.

Is she your cousin or something?

If you don't care, then why

If you don't care, then why is everybody referencing it? Why are there conspiratorial videos posted all over this site about it? That's what I'm trying to purge because it is wrongheaded.

No, she's not my cousin. I never said there was no reason to criticize her. I've actually said that I enjoyed the above video of the RP supporters.

I don' like her one bit. I just hate angry mobs even more.

Rank these questions in Importance:

1) With a gold & silver backed currency, would then the treasury still issue Paper Certificates like they once did?

2) Tell us more about your Transition Programs Dr. Paul that would make sure the elderly can get their Social Security Medicare/Medicaid.

3) In your foreign policy, I know we close lots of land bases such as those in Germany and Japan and Korea, but we would still have nuclear Trident subs and ships patrolling the seas, is that not correct?

4) Why do you think the young college students like you so much?

'blowback' =P

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!

infotainment reality TV news

Her comment about fearing Ron Paul winning was a figure of speech. She obviously disagrees with Ron Paul but the real motivation for her ridiculous questions is creating entertainment news that can sell advertisements.

I don't think she's smart enough to truly understand why Ron is right. Educated by propaganda and drowning in the establishment, to her the status quo is normal.

As a society, we should publicly criticize people who squander and exploit the vast potential of globally broadcast TV news.

Check out http://ronpaulforums.com for activism and news.

The people can take the power back by interviewing the media

and keep asking them why.

Kick her out.

Frankly, the campaign should have simply notified the mgmt at CNN that this woman was no longer considered a fair reporter, and no longer welcome on the campaign trail, and if they want to be issued credentials for any campaign events, and if they want any access to the Paul campaign they would need to send someone else.

CNN doubles down with Bash

Not gonna link it here, google if you want to see it at huffpo. Basically CNN is claiming that poor Dana Bash, the totally objective journalist, is being unfairly attacked by evil RP supporters who are twisting her words.

So here's the deal. If Ms. Bash's argument is that she just made a grammatical error and meant to say "you've been talking to republicans, just like I am, who are worried that Ron Paul might win..." then why in the world doesn't she come out and say that? All she would have to do is apologize for a "small grammatical error" and that would be the end of it, assuming from there on she suddenly became an objective journalist.

But she's not doing that. I wonder why that is.

It was obvious to me

It was obvious to me that's what she meant. See my post above.

It's absurd to interpret it any other way. It makes no sense for her to be worried, much less share such a concern openly as a reporter.
