organization needed IN NY

This is a call out to New York Ron Paul supports and any supporters in surrounding states. Our primary is April 25th and is a closed primary. We need to organize to get people registered to vote republican for Ron Paul or have them switch the party affiliation to republican. Voter registation forms have to be submitted to the NYS board of elections no later than 25 days before the primary. WE NEED TO ACT NOW!!! New York being the home financial industrial complex would send a VERY strong message to the establishment and the rest of the world if Dr. Paul were to do well here. I live in long island and want to start a get out the vote event here ASAP but we need all areas of the state covered NYC, Long island, Hudson valley, Catskills, Buffalo, Rochester the whole state!

in NYC

An opportunity to reach registered Republicans in NYC: Outside the S.I. Ferry terminal after the "ticker tape" parade for the Giants. Still a while to the vote, last time it was closer.

Try High Schools and Colleges

Best place to find people who have not registered would be High Schools and Colleges. Might be hard to get permission to register voters on high school property, and harder still if many students are bused to school.

With the early party change registration, NY is not the best place to win delegates. Best bet is educating your neighbors about Paul's message even if it won't lead to electoral success and support NY Liberty candidates.

Concern 4 years ago was putting together the delegate slate.

My mom, a lifetime Democrat, is a registered Republican in NY State to vote for Paul.

Could be Wrong

But I believe it's too late for changing party in NY. Deadline was October 14, 2011, as far as I know.

Believe deadline for new registrations is March 29, 2012.

Anyone more knowledgeable, please correct...

The registration form says 25 days prior, but please call to confirm and please download the form and send it in ASAP regardless. No chances.

That's correct. Deadline for switching was last fall.

I was a new NYS registrant - so I registered Republican no problem.

My Mom was registered Democrat and could not switch, it was too late.

Ridiculous!

Both options / deadlines should be on the SAME DATE! What the heck does the NYSBOE care if you are a new voter or changing Parties? You have to fill out the form and send it to the same place either way!

This is why I have NEVER changed my Party registration away from Republican - it's too complicated to change in this Fascist Hell State.

I HATE NY!

Nevermind that Romney will walk away with NY no matter what. Just like McCain did.

NY Republicans are the most concrete-headed Big-Business Fascists on the PLANET!

Most conservatives who MAY have liked Ron Paul are either undeclared or registered in the Conservative Party.

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat meat!

I live upstate in Warrensburg. Does anyone know of an organization for RP supporters in the north country? Also, I am too late on switching for voting in the primary.. I am registered as an independent and of course the deadline was in October. I know I can put out brochures but how and where exactly do I deliver them? Advice please!

Thanks, but no much going

Thanks, but no much going on.. The Capitol region has a meet up group but it doesn't seem to get much use plus it's like an hour south which wouldn't matter too much is people were doing something :/

Check out your local meetups

This is for NYC. There should be a state coordinator and local coordinators affiliated with the meetups.

Capital Region

This is what you need to know. The time has passed, people can no longer change parties to vote as a republican. Those who are not registered at all, can in fact register by March 30 to vote in the Primary in April.

Saratoga, NY

we need to get first time voters registered then and start working the Republicans that are here. Have you seen any signage or brochures going out in your end of the state?
