Organization needed in New York
Submitted by Pete4RonPaul on Fri, 01/13/2012 - 14:11This is a call out to New York Ron Paul supports and any supporters in surrounding states. Our primary is April 25th and is a closed primary. We need to organize to get people registered to vote republican for Ron Paul or have them switch the party affiliation to republican. Voter registation forms have to be submitted to the NYS board of elections no later than 25 days before the primary. WE NEED TO ACT NOW!!! New York being the home financial industrial complex would send a VERY strong message to the establishment and the rest of the world if Dr. Paul were to do well here. I live in long island and want to start a get out the vote event here ASAP but we need all areas of the state covered NYC, Long island, Hudson valley, Catskills, Buffalo, Rochester the whole state!

Ron Paul has some support here...
in NNY, St Lawrence county area. I had a question, regarding the primary, maybe someone could help me with. Where is Dr Paul's name on this document? Will we have to write in his name or will it be on the ballot? I'm obviously confused, I thought his name would be somewhere, but there's not one mention of Dr Paul, from the NY GOP website anywhere, at All. :/ Maybe I missed it...?

I'm probably being selfish BUT..
If there ever was a State that needs to be ROCKED back on it's heels by the Ron Paul Nation, it is New York. Stay focused on the states before us but please don't forget us when the time comes.

welll
wheres Avery these days?
I actually wrote to the campaign in late summer about New York state and they only passed a name along about two weeks ago.
I'm more than willing to help from a virtual standpoint as I am out of state this winter.
I do recommend heading to BOE offices to get a cd burnt for $5 with listing of all registered Republicans in your county. It will also show you who has voted in a primary recently.
NY is a huge state (people and geography), you really have to be smart about how you do your canvassing to maximize your effort.
Please don't waste time with sign waves - I don't think there is a Republican voter who does not yet know who RP is

Too late to change registration, as far as I know.
But if you're not registered at all, you still can.

I think a united effort would
I think a united effort would work best in covering the state that way we can all be in communication with each other and funnel campaign resources where needed. I suggest everyone on this thread please list you name, email adress/facebook/twitter (whatever is easiest to reach you), town and county where you are located and we can start organizing voter registration events, rallies and meetings on how to best focus our efforts and most effectively get out the message. For those of you in the southern NY area there is a Debate watching event at the Manhattan Headquarters on Mott St. Here is the facebook invite link:
http://www.facebook.com/events/100784570044296/?notif_t=even...
From what I can gather Manhattan HQ has been running phone from home events and there is a super brochure mailing going out but as far as boots on the ground events I dont see much of that taking place as of yet. We should also take advantage of the fact that major news networks are based in NY so rallies outside these institutions would further pressure them to fairly cover Dr. Paul. Please if you have any other ideas on how we can get this moving quickly, efficiently and effectively please share them!
We need to get this going ASAP so we can have an influence. Lets show Wall St. they can't buy the next president!

New Yorkers can help here.
I contacted these guys. They have a humble little project going on that you can help with easily if you want.

Count me in; I'm happy to get involved in any way that I can.
FYI - I actually campaigned in New Hampshire and it was very educational re: good approaches, bad approaches.
Binghamton, NY
I'm in Binghamton. New York is wicked establishment minded for those who don't know. Sometimes I think we are the State version of Chicago. The "machine" is well oiled.
There was a meetup group in my area last cycle that doesn't exist today. It never could get traction.
I'd hate to see the poll numbers here right now. Cuomo has NY under control. Noone has a clue how he contributed to the housing crisis, believe me.
None the less I keep donating and trying to nudge people the best I can.

From NY: Me Too! We are a Banana Republic...
and I don't mean the clothing store. Cuomo is an airhead who suckered too many people into voting for him. He has done nothing to help the state (no surprise) but consolidates his political power every chance he gets.
New Yorkers think they are so smart and savvy. They make fun of folks in flyover country. Well, they are some of the dumbest, clueless, denial-ridden people in the country. I'm hoping for a strong showing for Ron in NY - I changed my party affiliation to Republican (ugh) just to vote for him in the primary.
Keep spreading the word and we will prevail!
You mean home of the Giuliani
You mean home of the Giuliani bunker?
Support freedom and liberty candidates in 2012... Ron Paul... Gary Johnson...
Giuliani's $7M bunker went down in 9/11...
it was in 7 WTC. I live in NYC and never could stand Giuliani and never voted for him. He is the biggest blowhard sleaze around.

***NYS Republican Primary is Tuesday, April 24th*** NOT the 25th
It is to late to switch parties and vote in the primaries in NYS, but you can go to your county seat and pay for a list of registered Republicans in your county and contact them directly.
