RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Federal District Court Judge John Gibney ruled against Texas Governor Rick Perry and other Republican presidential candidates who sued in an effort to appear on the ballot for the Virginia Republican primary in March.

Judge Gibney announced the ruling Friday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia.

The suit was originally filed by Texas Governor Rick Perry.
Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Jon Hunstman later joined the challenge.

THE WORD IS OUT
There are only two electable candidates in this race, and only one can beat Obama.

The American people are playing

right into the hands of the Establishment. Ron Paul has a great deal of support and the Establishment knows that. The RP supporters will only back RP, again the Establishment knows that. So what has been there plan all along. Get as many candidates in the race as possible diluting the votes to keep the spot light off of RP. Show him the least amount attention you can. Try and keep the spotlight on Romney because you know without the RP supporters he can not beat Obama. The American people are sucking it up like a Hoover Vacuum Cleaner. But they could lose the game by Paul taking 3rd in Iowa and second in NH. That they did not expect. Now if RP could take first in SC there game would be over. No longer could they keep the spotlight off of him if that were to happen. Once RP gets one on one with Romney then Romney is done. So SC is this telling you anything?

These guys can't even get off

These guys can't even get off their asses and file their election paperwork in a timely manner with PLENTY of advance notice, and I'm supposed to trust them with something like the presidency?

"I'm sorry Mr. Speaker, but my dog ate my state of the union speech."

I find this appalling

How disrespectful this is to the voters of virginia. All 4 of these guys were never EVER serious about obtaining the White House. Their popularity was completely media generated, name recognition drove the polls. Seriously, if Barbour were mentioned as much as gingrich on the msm, he would have been, and still would be a contender. UGH, How dare all 4 of these book sellers run for an elected office as serious as the oval office.

They ought to listen to Jesse Benton...

...and drop out and support Ron Paul now! :-)

Come on Gingrich!... I want to see pigs fly! haha

lol

he just f-ing did!

Ron Paul will win 2012. Get ready for it. :)

That was meant

as a reply for Mark2012 re: true_believer.

Virginia is an OPEN primary!

Hence it will provide a very strong case for the electability of Ron Paul v Mitt Romney should Ron Defeat him.

The downside is that it takes place on Super Tuesday, which dilutes the attention that Ron Paul can give to it, and it provides a fog behind which the mainstream media can ignore it.

I think we need it to be pretty much just Ron Paul versus Romney for a few weeks before Super Tuesday so he'll have time and enough exposure to take Mitt down.

I've a feeling that by mid February, Ron Paul could be polling 50-45 over Obama as his support grows while Romney drops a couple of points behind Obama as his Bain video goes viral and disaffects the Independents and Democrats that have helped him in head to head polls with Obama up to now.

Ron Paul going to a clear lead in head to head polling against Obama with Mitt failing to do so will be incredibly powerful in dismissing the 'electability' smear propaganda which has dissuaded many repeat voters, who ofter see their role in voting as a competition to pick the winner, as if they're betting on a football game.

I smell a skunk

So if only 2 candidates RP and Willard Mittens it will be one of them that get all the delegates. So much easier fot the GOP w MSM and FED, Rothschild support to have another fraud election and give all delegates to mittens. If other candidates were on the ballot, the vote split would probably not give any candidate 50% and the delegates would be proportional and if they rigged the vote to give to much to Willard it would cause to much outrage. Looks like a scam to me. But its pretty much all i have seen when it comes to elections.

sovereign

I don't know how Virginia

I don't know how Virginia rules split delegates, but this decision also bothers me. The decision looks good to some Paulis, but we shouldn't favor a decision just because it looks good for us. Ron Paul hasn't set this example.

I'm not comfortable with a Federal judge deciding this issue. Within broad limits, states should decide how states participate in Federal elections. If Virginia's ballot access is too restrictive, making it less restrictive seems the right approach, and Virginia needs a means of changing the rules in this direction. If a last minute change made ballot access more restrictive, I'd feel differently.

How about a debate.

Will Virginia host a Presidential Debate? Oh I sure hope so. A Debate between DimWit Romney and President Paul would show the country who should be the next President.

Ron Paul!

that would be interesting.

that would be interesting.

Any news on the Illinois

Any news on the Illinois ballot?

I'm not sure

Illinois law requires candidates to file using their home addresses. Perry, the Texas governor whose candidacy may not survive through Illinois, used a post office box in Austin, Texas, for an address.

Ron Paul’s Illinois petitions used the address of his Virginia campaign headquarters. His campaign said his statement of candidacy used his home address.

Newt Gingrich, Paul, Perry, Mitt Romney, Santorum and Buddy Roemer all filed the required 3,000 signatures for the beauty contest. Jon Huntsman skipped Illlinois.

Real eyes realize real lies

We want our country back

Every year is a year for Ron Paul!

If this was regards to Santorum

A group I am a part of in IL contacted the campaign and they said not to challenge it so we didn't.

I think the idea is Santorum will be out of the race by then and won't matter; also does not want to give ammo to the DSM to say bad things about Paul supporters.

I will make sure to shed a

I will make sure to shed a tear for them...... or not

That ends the electability claim of the other candidates

You can't elect what you can't elect

Bring this up in the debate

Question Newt: How can you defeat Romney when you're NOT EVEN ON THE BALLOT?!?!

Start spreading the news to

Start spreading the news to the supporters of the other candidates. "Only Ron Paul can beat Obama", "Ron Paul is the only electable candidate", if they want to beat him they have to join Ron Pauls side now.
Walk thru the stores, and streets with friends disusing out load with each other these things, get people talking.

Isn't Karen Kwiatkowski running for Congress in VA???

I think she might be able to help us if we can help her...

Anybody know what the scoop is there??

Indeed she is and against the Co-Author of SOPA

that is Bob Goodlatte. Last weekend we collected signatures for her. So hopefully we can get her on that ballot. The primary is June 14. She needs everyone's help.

What scoop?

She is running.. She's running as a Constitutional Conservative. She writes for Lew Rockwell a little and I like what she has said. She looks pretty good so far. I'm going to give her a chance. I've already sent her some money and probably will do again soon.

She'll respond to you if you email her with your questions.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

We need to take and control all 49 delegates for VA.

Winner takes all per congressional district. All delegates will be loyal, trained Robert's Rules of Order and briefed on dirty tricks. An open primary, we should take at least 60%, yes 60% of the popular vote and boots will be on the ground :^)

Ron Paul's boots on the

Ron Paul's boots on the ground ready to invade!

This is good news for us, but...

has anyone heard what's happening with Dr. Paul and Illinois? Yesterday I read on DP that there was a bureaucratic SNAFU on paperwork filed for Dr. Paul in Illinois that could keep him off the ballot. Anybody know anything new???

What is the final tally then for all the other GOP

candidates?

Who will not be on which State's ballots.

Virginia, only Obamney & Paul

Are there any other states where others have failed to make it?

I read below that it is a

I read below that it is a winner take all if one candidate gets 50% of the vote and proportional if one candidate does not get 50% of the vote. 50 delegates up for grabs. We have to win Virginia.

Hats off to that judge.

Hats off to that judge.

How many delegates???

Does this lose them? And, does it make it virtually impossible. Honestly, I have never heard of this happening. Are these candidates so dismal that they couldn't even have the foresight to get 'r done? Ridiculous, glad Virginia didn't decide to suddenly rewrite the rules of the game. I assume that the courts decided they were UNELECTABLE :)

50 delegate giveaway

lol and it is on SUPER TUESDAY AS WELL
