http://www.wtvr.com/news/wtvr-virginia-gop-primary-ruling-20...

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Federal District Court Judge John Gibney ruled against Texas Governor Rick Perry and other Republican presidential candidates who sued in an effort to appear on the ballot for the Virginia Republican primary in March.

Judge Gibney announced the ruling Friday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia.

The suit was originally filed by Texas Governor Rick Perry.
Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Jon Hunstman later joined the challenge.

THE WORD IS OUT
There are only two electable candidates in this race, and only one can beat Obama.

Let's get to work...

Need to set up shop quickly....

HAHAHA now bill krystal and Newt have to either vote for

Romney or Ron Paul. That is the funniest thing I've ever heard. Their own cheating is killing them. We need to ask Newt who will you vote for Mitt Romney or Ron Paul or will you vote third party or just vote for Obama. Since Newt said he will not vote for Ron Paul we should ask him why he is attacking Mitt when he is planning on voting for him. This stuff is too good.

Will Mitt Romney Run 3rd Party

If and when Ron Paul gets the Republican Nomination will Mitt Romney run 3rd Party to keep Ron Paul for winning. Or will he vote for Ron Paul.

Thats the best comment ever

From the above link

"In his opinion, Judge Gibney wrote, "They [the candidates hoping to appear on the ballot] knew the rules in Virginia many months ago; the limitations on circulators affected them as soon as they began to circulate petitions. The plaintiffs could have challenged the Virginia law at that time. Instead, they waited until after the time to gather petitions had ended and they had lost the political battle to be on the ballot; then on the eve of the printing of absentee ballots, they decided to challenge Virginia's laws.""

Now posted on Drudge. Good!

There is no time to appeal this decision. They cannot change rules that have been in place for years. End of story!

I Read They Can Appeal Decision. I Didn't See Where There Is No

time to appeal it? I hope you are right. So what you are saying is the printing presses can start again?

Tears of a Clown

In this case clowns.
Santorum never expected to get out of Iowa in 2nd place therefore his adopted state of VA., didn't matter.

Newt started this off as a book tour and when the first polls came out, he declared himself the nominee but still forgot to do the ground work and had little cash.
And he couldn't return any of that crap he bought from Tiffany's to help fund his book tour/presidential run.
Our Texas Governor at least had the required number but when they started to comb over the names, they found Mickey Mouse and his club house pals signed the petitions and gave their state address as VA. And we all know where they really live.

Besides, they will have dropped out before VA.

Lets take Virginia for Ron Paul!

GEAUX RON PAUL 2012.

Proves those 4 candidates were never serious about winning ;-)

Especially Newt, not even on his home state's ballot.
So why were those four running? Just to express their views? To later run third party? CNN - get on this story!

SteveMT's picture

Alternatively, they were not serious about following the rules.

They have broken the rules so often, maybe they don't take rules very seriously. Ya think!

Is Virginia a winner take all delegate state????

It is a winner take all state if the candidate gets 50+% of the

vote, otherwise proportional.

The judge has inside track to the first RP appt. to the SCOTUS

This judge is tough. Imagine the backroom pressure brought to bear on this guy.

This may not be the end of it. An Appeal? You know how these people work. I hope that this is the end of this tyranny.

I'll Feel Better When Campaigns Spend More Money on an Appeal

I hope, I hope, they appeal.

Virginia's requirements are too high. They use it to keep alternative parties off the ballot.

What an excellent use of Perry's campaign funds.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Virginia's requirements are too high.

Sorry but your argument does not hold water. The Virginia requirement of 10,000 valid signatures is one of the easiest in the nation. The 10,000 signatures amount to two thousandths of one percent [0.002] of the registered voters in Virginia. That is peanuts compared to many states that require 2 to 3 percent or more. And petitioner worth their salt should be able to collect 250 signatures a day. About thirty[30] signatures an hour. Four petitioners should have the job done in ten days to two weeks. There are more than five million registered voters in Virginia. With five million registered voters it would be a cakewalk by a committed team of petitioners to get one hundred thousand signatures or more. Been there, done that in Calif. and Nevada for the Libertarian Party in the late 70's and early 80's.

There were 3,685,506 votes cast in 2008 for Obama and McCain.
0.00275 X 3,685,506 = 10,135 One person could gather that many signatures in a month in front of Wally World.
