Big Announcement Today!

The event will take place on Sunday, January 15th at 6:00 p.m. at the Palisades Conference Center. Event details are here.

From Dr. Paul's email yesterday...

"The South Carolina Republican Primary is just one week from today.

Coming off my strong finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire, recent South Carolina polls show I’ve surged into third place and am rising.

And tomorrow in Myrtle Beach, I’m hosting a rally, where I’ll be making a MAJOR campaign announcement that’s sure to rock the political establishment and boost me even further in the polls.

Can I count on you to be there?

You see, just four years ago, I was polling in the low single digits in South Carolina.

Today, I’m now a top contender to WIN the Republican nomination.

But unlike other candidates and politicians, my message hasn’t changed one bit.

I’ve stayed true to the Founding principles of individual liberty, free markets, sound money, and constitutional government.

The difference today is that the American people have had enough.

They’re sick and tired of the out-of-control spending, never-ending bailouts, and massive deficits coming out of Washington, D.C.

They’re looking for someone they can trust to put an end to the Big Government, big spending status quo.

And that’s what I’ve been fighting for during my time in Congress.

I’m the ONLY candidate offering a serious plan to cut spending.

My Plan to Restore America cuts one TRILLION dollars during the first year of my presidency by eliminating five unconstitutional federal agencies, and it balances the budget by my third year.

As more and more Americans realize I’m the only tried-and-true constitutional conservative in this race, my campaign will continue to grow by leaps and bounds.

That’s why I’m hoping you’ll join me tomorrow in Myrtle Beach for a MAJOR campaign announcement.

The campaign announcement I’m making will take place at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort and Conference Center, located at 10000 Beach Club Drive in Myrtle Beach.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the rally begins at 6:00 p.m.

You can get directions HERE.

Tomorrow night’s rally and announcement are something you don’t want to miss.

I hope to see you there.

Together, you and I can Restore America NOW!

For Liberty,

Ron Paul"

Yes, Dr. Paul...I'll be there.

So I am just going to assume

So I am just going to assume it's Jim DeMint... but I want to know how much sway DeMint has in South Carolina. Because if my senator endorsed anyone I wouldn't be impressed. Mostly because my senator is a sleeze bag. I don't know much about DeMint maybe he's a great guy. I just hope if it's him endorsing Paul that he has a big impact and helps Ron push over the top.

DeMint's a badass

He's been a pretty big Tea Party watchdog up there in DC.

I think the only serious "wtf" that he's done was voting yes for NDAA, to which I heard Rand Paul on Hannity say "honestly, I think DeMint made an honest mistake and didn't understand that part of the bill." I think Rand even spoke with DeMint afterwards and confirmed it.

SC *loves* him.

DeMint voted no on the...

...final NDAA bill. Seems like there is rampant confusion on this point given that he voted yes on an earlier version?

It's OFFICIAL!!!

Check his website

After holding for quite a long time, I spoke directly with his website designer/moderator and he has put this event on Ron Pauls official site!

He couldn't believe that we were all over this! Good conversation with him, and I have his direct email (that he asked me not to give out) so that if there's anything else that we feel needs to be added, then I can email him, so that he can.

Very nice guy, and he thanked me for my service.

Anyways here's the link

Good night Freedom Fighters!

See you there!

Woohoo! Headed that way in the morning.

I saw DeMint on Fox Business

I saw DeMint on Fox Business today talking about the Fed and out of control spending. He was giving kind words to Ron Paul and neither him nor the news anchor said anything about the other candidates. However, when asked if he would endorse anyone DeMint said he wasn't going to and thought highly of all the Republican candidates.

No Mystery Gang...........

It's The Tom Davis Announcement.

But...

Tom Davis endorsement or Tom Davis VP? Cuz that could be game changer for sure

He's not announcing VP unless

He's not announcing VP unless he's nominated. I think I've heard two or three interviews on this now. Google is our friend.

I remember Ron saying he

I remember Ron saying he wouldn't announce VP until he was in a strong position, not necessarily wait until he is nominated.I believe it was at the last debate Gary Johnson attended and the all got the VP question.

"Give me Liberty or give me death." Patrick Henry

You don't announce your VP

You don't announce your VP pick before you've accepted the nomination.

Hey myrtlebeach4ronpaul, can you edit your post?

There is still confusion because it is not listed on the RP main website, and I don't want people to go through the heartache, or cause heartache, like I did for being skeptical. Perhaps give the link I listed below where all of the SC events are listed, including this one, and that the hotel has been called and confirmed. People should be excited about the announcement, and all who can attend should go, instead of being wary it is not real. Thanks again for understanding my earlier accusations that this was not real.

I'm skeptical too... It

I'm skeptical too... It doesn't sound like Ron Paul's language. I almost thought it was Santorum's appeal for your presence.

Major Announcement? Where's the evidence?

I have received no email; I haven't seen anything about Myrtle Beach on http://www.ronpaul2012.com/. I remain skeptical, and encourage others not to post on social networks until it is determined that this story is true. THINK!

ISUringman1974

It's Real

The email was sent to people only in South Carolina.

If it's real...

...and an email originating from the RP campaign did in fact go out to SC people, then certainly there is no reason to post about it on any networking platforms. If the campaign wanted the information out there, it would have been easy to accomplish!

Think, about this! Do Not Post!

ISUringman1974

Look further down in the thread....

...this was already debated and reconfirmed. It's real. This is just the forum for the announcement of the Tea Party SC leader endorsement, as I understand it.

Davis endorsement...

hardly meets the criteria (And tomorrow in Myrtle Beach, I’m hosting a rally, where I’ll be making a MAJOR campaign announcement that’s sure to rock the political establishment and boost me even further in the polls.) Really? A MAJOR campaign announcement that's sure to ROCK the political establishment is not an endorsement from an SC state senator! No disrespect intended...and, nothing against a possible endorsement; however, it is very suspicious that Michael Nystrom, the RP campaign (http://www.ronpaul2012.com/), the RP Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/ronpaul), and no email (received by me, anyway), has been published!

I will respectfully repeat my earlier admonition: If it's real, ...and an email originating from the RP campaign did in fact go out to SC people, then certainly there is no reason to post about it on any networking platforms. If the campaign wanted the information out there, it would have been easy to accomplish!

Think, about this! Do Not Post!

more care should be taken

in announcing these things.. I mean.. "major" announcement to rock the political world? I suspect that most people do not even have a clue who their state representatives are. Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying its not nice to have the support just that its not likely to be a game changer in any way.

And honestly, I don't think endorsements, celebrity or political sway too many people anymore.

gedankenexperiment.dk views on finance, politics and science

I suspect that most people do

I suspect that most people do not even have a clue who their state representatives are.

This is true for mostly everything. But the point is all it takes is a knowledgeable minority of people to help translate how meaningful their credentials are. I mean, isn't the whole Ron Paul movement a perfect example of that?

If you were to look at Paul's name recognition 5 years ago, what do you think you'd see?

And honestly, I don't think endorsements, celebrity or political sway too many people anymore.

And several recent studies this election cycle would seem to bear that out, except the endorsements most of these polls are asking about are either big media publications (editorials) or national figures (politicians and celebrities), not local or community leaders.

People forget how immensely popular Mark Sanford was before his sex scandal. You better believe, especially after the distrust people have for tea party darling Nikki Haley coming out in favor of Romney, that people are leery of trusting just any endorsement this year. But Davis is different.

He was not only part of Sanford's cabinet, he was also one of the state's highest profile benefactors of the tea party in the 2010 elections. You can't write that off so easily.

Santorum is apparently going to get a boost soon from 150+ evangelical leaders. Now THOSE are the endorsements you want to hope make no difference, but again... in the surveys conducted by Reuters, CNN, etc, about the effect of endorsements, the value of religious leaders' endorsements were not named. But we all know how effective they are down-ticket in Republican races, so why not for president?

Never forget:

To disagree, one doesn't have to be disagreeable.

All I can say is...

for those of you that believe in God, or a higher being please before you go to bed tonight, or when you wake up tomorrow, please say a prayer for Dr. Paul, and pray that he does in fact get a really strong showing in South Carolina, and gets the backing from someone who holds clout with the Conservative folks voting in South Carolina. I will be saying a prayer, I surely hope you all will be too.

sure will! :)

sure will! :)

Amen!

Will do!

Tom Davis?

Thats old news

Perhaps is some sort of

Perhaps is some sort of endorsement? I've seen big announcements for significant endorsements for other campaigns in the past but with the emphasis it sounds like it might even have to be something more significant than a DeMint endorsement although that would be great at this point in time.

I'm also thinking that Bachman and Cain haven't publicly thrown their support behind anybody that I'm aware of but I'm not sure that either of their endorsements would really help either.

Since Dr. Paul's foreign policy is the biggest sore point for many who misunderstand his philosophy, I'm wondering if the announcement has something to do with a big military veteran endorsement or VP announcement that would help to reassure potential voters that Ron Paul is truly not anti-defense as most of us all here already know.

This one really has me scratching my head.

LOL.. I can't believe people

LOL.. I can't believe people are guessing!! Have you not looked at the front page?

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

That is definitely a good thing, but EARTH SHATTERING?

TO me "earth shattering" might be something like Romney and the rest of the hopefuls, including the billionaire who said he might spend 270 million and run for president, all would drop out and campaign for Ron Paul...that would be Earth Shattering in my view.

fearless brave joyful peaceful loving grateful, compassionate

imagine if Jim DeMint is

imagine if Jim DeMint is there to endorse RON Too.
