Supporters infiltrating
It cracks me up when I see these obvious Ron Paul supporters infiltrating the "undecided" forums. I love it.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
I really appreciate all the positive comments I've seen on here and on the comment section for this vid at youtube.
First...no, I definitely wasn't a plant, but some of my friends thought it was funny reading comments speculating that I was.
I'm glad everyone seems happy with the question I asked because it didn't go off quite as planned. I wanted to ask Romney if there was anything he could learn from Dr. Paul about economics and the Fed. But the rules of the forum were that the candidates couldn't talk about each other. I didn't think that would be a fair question under those rules and might've led to Huckabee telling Romney he couldn't really answer it (not that I really expected a direct answer anyway).
I know you guys have strong feelings about the Rand as VP thing. Just so you know, I read that idea in a reason.com article on Thursday; it wasn't my own. And just by chance, I met the people selecting the forum questions and participants and got to talking politics and Ron Paul with them right after I read it. I mentioned what I had just read, and they were really intrigued by it. One of them went straight to twitter with it and they wanted it on the show. They were also interested in what I had to say about Romeny not getting our support if he's the candidate in November. That conversation got me invited to be on the program.
Before the show, questioners were told that we would have the opportunity for follow up while we were at the mic. After learning the rules on candidates not talking about each other, I decided I'd ask how he thinks he can possibly gain our support, and as a follow up I would float the Rand idea. However, during the break right before it was my turn, they decided on no more follow ups due to time constraints. So, I decided I'd drop the Rand thing.
When I returned to my seat after asking my question, the show's staff asked me if I felt he answered my question. I told them he didn't asnwer it at all, and they asked if I wanted to speak again at the end of the show. Obviously I said yes, and when they lined us up for questions again during the next to last segment, the had me put right in front. At this point, I didn't know what to expect...were the candidates coming back out as a group? Was I going to speak with Huckabee? I didn't know so I wasn't as prepared. During the commercial right before the last segment while I was standing at the mic, the producer asked if I was going to bring up Rand this time, so I did.
As far as where I stand on Rand as VP, I feel like a lot of you...I would really hate to see him work so closely with Romney. But, at the same time it makes him a major player in the party, gives Paul supporters a greater voice and lines him up to run for president ala Bush 1 following Reagan. Would it be selling out? I don't know, but it's so unlikely to happen that it's really not worth arguing over right now. And, it certainly wouldn't happen while Ron's still in the race. (By the way, I saw some comments about Rand not being his dad. I haven't seen anything from Rand that I disagree with, nor have I seen any positions of his that differ from his father's. If there are, can someone point them out to me, please?)
I have to say I was really impressed with Huckabee's staff and I feel they were fair. They didn't really know how I was going to word my question, and it probably wasn't exactly what they expected. But they gave me a chance to give my thoughts on his response when they saw that he didn't answer my question. I was impressed with that.
If Romney was smart, he would've seen my question as an opportunity to at least show some awareness of us and what we care about and do some reaching out. I know he would never talk about auditing the Fed or renounce his support of the bank bailouts, but hell, he could've played it safe and at least talked about adhereing to the Constitution. He didn't even do that. It just confirmed what I already knew. Either he doesn't care what we our concerns are, or he's so out of touch he doesn't even know.
Last, I'm really happy to read and hear that I didn't sound like a moron. I actually haven't even watched it yet. I have this thing about watching myself and hearing my voice. It's weird.
Thanks for all the supportive comments
self edit...double post
How can Mittens possibly think that he answered the question???
Duck, bob, weave, skirt...
Am I the only one that turns
Am I the only one that turns into Charlie Brown when the other candidates speak and hear nothing but "CWA CWA CWA CWA CWA CWA QWA QWUUUUAAA."?

Great job and follow up
I hope people will eventually see that you can not continue the military spending and get the economy in shape. Essentially to accept Dr Pauls economic strategy, you need to adopt his foriegn policy. Look a bankrupt country is a weak country.
"This isn't what the govern meant"
"Win the crowd and you will win your freedom"
Great Work Patriot!
Im inspired by your candor, will, and steadfastness.
Why do I support Ron Paul, The Daily, and the revolution? Cause you people make me smarter, stronger, and happier.
Peace.
Rand to Romney: "NO WAY IN HELL!!!"
Rand needs to put out a statement immediately to this effect! Just nip this Romney's VP thing in the bud!
"We All want a strong military". Good response.
So glad he said that. I think people see us as anti-military when it couldn't be further from the truth. We are against senseless, endless war that we can't afford. RP says this all the time but people just don't get it. I think the people I talk to about it are so brainwashed by the media they can't seem to absorb this concept.
Thanks to this fine man for representing the movement in such a positive way.
And let me add..Why would Romney try to convince a RP supporter to vote for him by bashing Obama for wanting to cut military spending? That's the biggest beef we have with most of these repub candidates, foreign policy. Or maybe I didn't understand that right.
Good job
I like this guy. Many of us (myself included) could learn something from him.
Ask direct questions -- politely. Don't rant, ramble or shout. Don't interrupt the answer, no matter how vapid and unsatisfactory it is. Bonus points: Plug Ron Paul -- calmly and unapologetically!

Thank you Sir for
Thank you Sir for representing all of us! Good Job!
it's like
matt damon as jason bourne is on the mic.
LOL
I laughed so hard when I read this. I get the Matt Damon thing a lot.
I really liked the fact that Brian starts out saying he's a
Ron Paul supporter which implies he for sure ain't no Keynesian! Paul=Austrian school, limited govt. That association never entered Mitt's head.
Excellent question for all the candidates.
Sir, you know you can't win without the support of the Paulians. As a Paul supporter, why should I vote for you?

was it my imagination..
or did the Huckster flinch when Brian said "Keynesian"...?
Daaaamn. Balllls.
Sry if balls offends. But he's sure got some.
Great Job - Romney "blah,
Great Job - Romney "blah, blah, blah" Hollow responses without anything solid about how are you going to fix the economy, etc. Come on SC!
Same side of the same coin?
Same side of the same coin? Romney is clearly BOTH sides of the same coin. Which ever side fits the questions best is the side he airs from.... Flip Flop. How can this fake plastic doll with no true convictions or beliefs be in the lead ? Mind boggling.... amazing that people are so damn dumb they cant see whats right there in front of them...truly amazing...

Even worse, the present occupier of the WH
and Romney are two sides of the same coin. Only one candidate advocates a paradigm shift and his name is Ron Paul!
I also liked this gentleman's question to Newt on the Fed
in case this hasn't been posted before
Though Ron Paul's name wasn't mentioned, it's pretty obvious who someone this informed would support

Ron Paul Ninja!
Another Ron Paul Ninja using "stealth" as it should be used ;-)
Wow! Thanks for that video
of Newt getting pwned!
There is also some talk
about Paul having a bunch of delegates and if he doesn't get the nomination he would most likely try and use his delegates as a bargaining tool to shape the GOP.
I don't like this idea. For me its Ron Paul or bust.
Why would Ron make a deal with the devil anyway? Keep your delegates Ron and let them sleep in the bed they make for themselves. They have NOT given him a fair shake in this game so why help them out of the ditch they have dug themselves in to? None of them are worthy of endorsement, if Paul doesn't get the Nomination LET THE RINO PARTY DIE !
If they pull some crap and steal the nomination from Paul and lose the election it will KILL the GOP and make them totally irrelevant. Let it Die !
"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."

I tend to agree
Short of the nomination itself, what can they give Ron Paul that would be worth the price of supporting the GOP in the election?
1. A speech at the convention? They'll put him on at 2 in the morning. Or, the networks won't carry it. Or both.
2. A platform plank? No one reads the major party platforms, and the presidential candidates feel free to ignore them.
3. The VP slot? Close, but no cigar. RP would be bottled up in that position, and worse -- he would be expected to support (or at least remain quiet about) every stupid, unlibertarian thing that the president says or does.
4. The VP slot for Rand? Intriguing, because it would set Rand up to run for prez in 2016 or 2020 (depending on whether Romney or whoever actually wins). But still probably not desirable, for the same objections as above.
What else? Anything else?

Its Ron Paul or BUST !
Let the GOP die because if they steal the nomination and fail to beat Obama it will seriously make them Irrelevant and will open the way even more for a new GOP foundation or a new party all together. Let them die! Ive voted Republican for years, outside of Ron Paul they are no longer worthy of support. Obama has done a lot of damage to this country but it was Rethuglicans that opened Pandora's box and it was Rethuglicans that turned the voters off and gave the country to Obama.
Let them die....They serve no purpose anymore as they have taken the Democrat platform and made it their own..Let them die....NO DEALS !

I Agree!
The Republicans become more and more irrevelant every day, as more an more people awaken to the truth. Same for the Dems. As more and more realize how easily a society is controlled by the Hegelian dialectic of our two party system, and choose a third BOTH parties will become extinct and it is happening as we watch. Case in point - Registered to vote:
Independents = 40%
Dems = 32%
Repubs = 27% (with the only bump coming recently from Ronulans switching parties).
Those two parties should change their emblems to Pterodactyls and Triceratops...

Romeny wants the Strongest Military in the World?
Obtaining the strongest military in the world shouldn't be all that difficult since it is we already HAVE the strongest military in the world. We already spend 5 times more on military than does China and China has money of their own while we borrow money from China in order to spend 5 times more on our military than China does. The US spends more than what is spent by the next 16 highest spending countries military budgets COMBINDED yet there is very reason in justifying this existing degree of spending. It is unsustainable plus the majority of this spending is not put toward defense but instead agression toward other nations in actions which do not benifit the American citizenry.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead
Brian's composure after the audience applauded Mitt's
"I'm for a strong military!" was AWESOME! He just dismissed it all and simply stated (paraphrased): "Well everyone's for a strong military...." Nerves of steel, man.
