According to CNN Ron Paul was one of the Winners in Iowa Tonight
Submitted by hhstennis on Fri, 01/04/2008 - 01:54Wolf Blitzer just praised Ron Paul's showing in Iowa numerous times. He indiated that 10% was very strong and this combined with Ron Paul winning over more indepdendents than any other Repbulcian candidate should make him a serious threat in NH.

Wolf has really been acting like our friend lately.
He was truly excited about Ron Paul's result in Iowa and
gave us a big boost.
Expectations game
We surpassed media expectations.
Romney's with his 24 percent and giuliani with 3 percent clearly lost the expectations game, because they performed worse than everyone thought they would.
Even though we came in 5th with 10%. We are one of the 3 winners of the expectations game.
We did Fantastic!
I think that everyone should look at this as a big win... and really shouldn't be surprised by the numbers. I took a look at the straw polls for IA and the reality of it is... we did way better than we did in the straw polls. Next I took a look at the straw polls for NH... go ahead, look at them. We won NH in every straw poll taken. Chin up people, we have work to do. We took the Independent vote in Iowa hands down! Just think, NH is a huge Independent stronghold - and we WILL take NH.
Tomorrow for me - door to door with flyers and DVD's in hand. Then sign painting - having a sign party Saturday then getting ready for Sign Bomb day! That should help us wake up America... if everyone gets involved. Think about Sign Bomb day for a moment. If it gets the attention of your home town paper, which it will, that is great! Some people don't realize that each hometown story gets fed to the Associated Press... when they realize that it happened all over the country - the home town story will hit the Nation Wide papers as well. I believe strongly that if everyone does this - it will be HUGE!

Remember when iowa announced their caucus date?
Everyone was upset about it, because Ron had invested all his time and money in new hampshire. He didn't have much of an organisation in iowa, no ads running, and only visited the state once.
Our strategy - to make a strong showing in new hampshire and then ride on the momentum, had been ruined, we had to survive iowa in order to be seen as a contender in new hampshire.
Not only did we survive iowa, today, but we finished 3 points behind third place. We missed the 3rd place upset that everyone was hoping for, but we did very well, and people can't dismiss us as a longshot anymore.

Really Iowa changes nothing except the media mix. To the boots on the ground get out the independent vote!!!

I'm somewhat concerned we didn't do far better than our poll numbers, but that is OK. NH is more independent than Iowa and we won the Independent vote, the only important thing is to convince the media not to hand the independent vote to McCain. Perhaps there should be some polite emailing.

don't buy into the msm propaganda just yet
this is a 3 way tie for 3rd basically....there are about 250 votes that separate Paul from both Thompson and McCain. Think about that?!! Only 250 votes....Both Thompson and McCain have gone back and forth but there have only been about 5 to 30 votes between them.

I still think that Ron Paul has a great shot at placing 3rd once all the precincts are verified. This is why the msm is still holding out on letting everyone know the actual numbers b/c Ron Paul is catching up.

The host of this site has recently re-posted the rules governing comments. He has good advice for all of us---follow the example of Dr. Paul and be courteous and civil in our remarks.
For instance, we can be positive for Ron Paul without being personally hostile or antagonistic to his opponents. The fact is, we'll need to appeal later to many of the people who are presently supporting the other candidates. So we should practice disagreeing with them without demonizing them. I like your enthusiasm (all those !!!!!) and only offer this as constructive advice.
