Illegal Ron Paul campaign tactic

I don't think we should do this because we are all upstanding, law abiding, government obeying citizens

If anybody knows how to embed a You Tube vid please tell me in the comments thanks.

The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.

Paul Supporters are the coolest

MoxNews is awesome. I've seen so many of his videos, but never laid eyes on the man himself.

Twenty years ago I received a One Dollar FRN that had a cartoon bubble with George Washington saying:
"I grew hemp"

I loved that FRN - but I think I got drunk and spent it.

I have YET to receive a "Ron Paul" dollar bill... YET

I better turn myself in.

This is not illegal

Sec. 333. Mutilation of national bank obligations

Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or
unites or cements together
, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal
Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note,
or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined
under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 700; Pub. L. 103-322, title
XXXIII, Sec. 330016(1)(B), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2146.)

The very purpose of this project is to REISSUE THE BILLS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE.

Don't write over the serial number or face or any other feature of the bill. Write on the border and you will not violate the law.

Just don't make it unfit to

Just don't make it unfit to be re-issued. To me, that means the "value" of the bill should still be clearly understood.

What is of interest is that this law basically makes it very clear that YOU DO NOT OWN THE MONEY YOU POSSESS. Ownership implies the right to destroy or dispose of your property. In other words, if you want to destroy your car with a sledgehammer, you can do so. If you set fire to your $1 bill and burn it to a crisp, you have just committed a federal crime. How can you own something if you can't do with it what you wish?

Focus on this

or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking....

This will make headlines

because I think it will trigger negative reaction among supporters of other candidates. If done on a large scale the bills will inevitably become sort of billboard for political slogans. I think the media will condemn this practice.
But then again, if it can somehow be turned around that this is really a protest against the constant devaluation of the dollar, it can be useful. So, maybe instead of Vote Ron Paul, you can start putting some patriotic slogans that lead to Ron Paul, like:
- Bring the troops home
- End the fed
- Don't send this bill overseas
- Do not use to fund wars

Don't waste your time trying to be right, spend it trying to get better

What a cool dude.

What a cool dude.

illegal? really?

I'm still using my Ron Paul ink stamp from 2008 on ALL my cash :)

allegedly ~grin~

Alright I Admit It!

I'm a Criminal! I have for quite some time been writing Pro-Ron Paul messages on and adhering Ron Paul stickers to US Dollars!

My career as a criminal started with ripping tags off of mattresses!

Then before too long, it wasn't enough for me, I began downloading copyrighted music!

It was too late, there was no turning back!

Then I took my criminal mischief to a whole new level!

I wrote on a dollar bill!

Oh lord, what have I become!

I must answer for my evil deeds!

I'm turning myself in!

I apologize to society for my delinquency and the irreparable harm that my wickedness has caused!

Oh, the horror! Oh, the shame!

unfit to be reissued

Is writing along the bottom of the bill making "such bank bill...unfit to be reissued?"

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."

it is not illegal

it is not illegal

For those who do not get it.

It's a wink and a nod, saying "don't do this" while showing you how.

It's like someone saying don't smoke pot, its illegal.

Then showing you how to do it and where to buy it.

Do I really have to explain this?

Here's a cookie, don't eat it. *Wink* *Wink* :)

Not illegal if..

I don't know where my posts from earlier went but like I said, just put a strip of 1/2" scotch tape across the bottom backside of the bill. Then, with a fine point sharpie, campaign it up! Tape is unnoticeable, and can be removed, therefore not defacing or ruining the bill because the tape comes off as easily as size "taped tag" on jeans. I wrote "Vote for sound money! Ron Paul 2012!"

Are you kidding?

LOL - writing on dollar bills is an illegal campaign tactic? At least change the subject line to "Dollar bill promotion" or something. Obviously the campaign is not doing anything in this regard, illegal or not, but some supporter allegedly talked about starting a trend. Actually sounds like a good idea to me, but if I do it I'll risk being hauled off to jail myself and will not implicate the campaign.

Personally, I do not condone

Personally, I do not condone such an act. Sure it doesn't harm anyone, besides RP's credibility (albeit in the eyes of morons I detest).
Nevertheless, if I were to get an F.R. note, defaced, depicting the promotion of a message, which does not explicitly endorse any particular messenger.. humm? I'd look into it.
How about you put a sticker of your own face on some - that'd be a game changer, for realz!

PS: Thanks a bunch for your many various MOX vidz! They're great!

How Terrifying!

Adding Ron Paul 2012 in Sharpie or Ron Paul Stickers, might increase the value of the note, we couldn't have that!

Once these bills reached a bank they would have to be sent back to the treasury to be burnt, that would counteract our beloved Federal Reserve's inflationary money printing, we certainly couldn't allow that to happen!

This would be almost as dangerous as Ron Paul!

How About

How about writing "Reduce Inflation: Burn This Bill!"

Also never ever ever put Ron Paul Stickers that happen to perfectly fit over the presidential portraits and conveniently come in rolls of 50, on Federal Reserve Notes.

Especially not stickers like these ones found here: http://www.ronpaul2012.com/store/stickers/

and here: http://ronpaulswag.com/signage/stickers.html

That would be a terrible, unlawful thing to do. :)
