Pat Buchanan Says Ron Paul is Authentic
Submitted by bobbyw24 on Mon, 01/16/2012 - 08:23in
Conservative commentator Pat Buchanan, who served as a senior adviser to Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, says that Ron Paul is "authentic" and that he "likes the guy."
While Buchanan disagrees with Paul on social issues, faith in public policy, and Libertarian-types of trade issues, he thinks that Paul is correct in his anti-war stance. Buchanan campaigned for Paul in 1994, when he was running for the House.
Buchanan says that Paul is genuine, real and honest, noting that it was Paul who put the Federal Reserve on the national table and that Paul was the only one of the candidates who voted against the Iraq war, a war that two-thirds of Americans now think was a mistake.

What was so funny that that
What was so funny that that good for nothing host was cackling away?
Shift in party talking points
Here is the progression so far:
* Ron Paul can't get elected, until he starts winning a lot of votes.
* If Paul wins in Iowa, it doesn't matter, unless it's Romney, until Paul does well in New Hampshire too.
* His foreign policy is dangerous, until veterans come out to support him in droves.
* Paul doesn't want to be president, he just cares about his cause. Therefore we should embrace his cause (give him a speaking spot at the convention or something) but the man is unappealing (you heard some of that in this video).
So what will the talking points be next after the Paul juggernaut gains evermore momentum? Will the establishment revert back to "he's dangerous" or will they try to steal his thunder and make the establishment candidates sound like Paul?
It would be comical if it wasn't so tragic and with so much at stake.
We came close in Iowa!

I think maybe Buchanan still
I think maybe Buchanan still remembers what happened to his own Presidential campaign. He's probably skeptical (and understandably so) that the establishment will ever accept Paul and knows they will do everything they can to try and defeat him. Hence the focus on the message and convention speaking spot. But that's no reason for us to quit or give up. We must keep raising the bar. Whereas Buchanan failed in the past, we might succeed.
And what is wrong with the man?
He has integrity, he's consistent and he lives his principals. On top of that, he actually understands what he's talking about and doesn't pander to the audience. Name a politician in the race who fits that description.

Pat is Authentic
Pat has always been a good man and an asset to our country. He knows that Ron Paul is the only answer to our problems and is expressing that.
Although he may be too far removed from politics at this point, he still needs to step up and say "I endorse Ron Paul, and this is the only choice for a brighter future for this country"
Thanks Pat.
Pat does not agree with him on everything
Thats OK Pat many people do not agree with the good Dr on everything. But eventually the truth begins to dawn on you one issue at a time and you begin to see that you are in the presence of pure genius.
Then you see that genius is equally matched by morality, bravery, patience, integrity, honor, incorruptability, and on and on, and you finally give in.
and you find yourself typing Ron Paul 2012 everywhere!
"We've been over taxed over regulated and over run by bureaucrats, the founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
Ron Paul
Great comments from Pat.
Good article, too.
