Video Thanks to Joe Plummer

[Thanks drheyde!]

It's crunch time in South Carolina. Five Republican presidential candidates will face off in a Palmetto State debate on Monday night, just five days before the first-in-the-South primary. South Carolina's primary is critical -- the Palmetto State's winner has been the eventual GOP nominee in every contested race since 1980. Fox News' Bret Baier will co-moderate the debate in Myrtle Beach.

wow, that was a great debate performance

i hesitated to watch this because of all the negative comments.

what i actually regret the most is all the people on here sitting home comfortably in their armchairs doing squat to get this man elected, but finding the time to write critical essays on how ron isn't doing it all, himself.

liberty has taught me to stop depending and relying on others.

that energy would be infinitely more powerful spent writing to your local paper.

Right on the mark, troy.

"liberty has taught me to stop depending and relying on others." Even though RP is our strongest educator, he is only one man, and the rest of us must carry the ball for liberty with all of our strength and resourcefulness.

Under the intense pressure of campaigning Ron Paul remains a wonder of composure, intellectual and ethical consistency, scope, and depth. He, with amplification of the supporters, is forging an intellectual revolution that will be a strong and sure pathway toward change in the future.

Skeptical of his debate performance at first.

But then, I really did focus on exactly 'when' he was being cheered, and where he was being booed. They don't make sense unless the hecklers stirred gut reactions, but these hecklers got an equal dose of shut down from the crowd. It is certainly not unanimous support for him in the crowd, but then again, who did have unanimous support?

Paul's performance

If Dr Paul would have been more coherent we probably would have understood what he was trying to say, but he wound up babbling a lot and we couldn't really follow him.

Dr. Paul did great.

I think this was his best debate ever.

No way. He was very

No way. He was very impassioned but he jumbled his words too much and didn't attack Romney on the NDAA.

He really needs to knock it out of the park Thursday.

In my opinion, I'm not sure about it being his best debate, but his all time best debate moment was when he sparred with Giuliani in 2007. That clip brought boos from the crowd in '07 BUT in '12 that clip has brought us hundreds of thousands of supporters.

Those willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both.

Thursday's Debate Prep

What do you think they are doing to help Ron for thursday's debate?

Those willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both.

Please create a section on your website for members to go to. A place where we can offer ideas on how to answer the attack questions that effect Ron Paul's candidacy. A place where we can share ideas on how to promote Ron Paul's message of Freedom. 1 million minds are better than 1. This is how the free market system works. Doug Wead can then apply these ideas that would, in my opinion, far surpass the best campaign management team. I have learned that the RP supporters appear to be most intelligent, when it comes to countering any argument against freedom / Ron Paul. We can do this.

You did a beautiful job RP

Given "ALL" that was presented to you. The average person would not be able to handle, what you put up with, nor what you have to deal with Dr Paul. Standing up there and completely ignored for the first 40mins of this debate. With intention to marginalize you, to aggravate you..they wait for an aggressive response. However their plan doesn't work, and so, you continue to patiently stand there, and wait, and wait, for your turn to come. This again, done with intention, to make you're mind tired, so by the time they decide to come to you, you struggle to find the free flow of words you need when answering your questions. Yet again, they fail, as you continue with a strong mind, a strong heart, principled, and consistent. Spreading the message that so desperately needs to be heard, educating the people, to the best of your ability, and in end proving you are best candidate to run for presidency. Thee only one. Re-enforcement of this acknowledgement is sealed when the results show, you were the "WINNER" of the night. Winning in "ALL" categories in the twitter polls. And not just by a whim, but by a landslide!! Beautiful Dr Paul. You are the best!! Special thank you to Harris Faulkner, the fox news anchor, for her honesty and integrity, in relation to exposing Dr Paul was indeed the winner of the polls. Like Dr Paul, she too, is an honest lady, and we need more people like them.

Ron is on his way back to

Ron is on his way back to Washington to Fight For Us! http://www.dailypaul.com/205482/video-ron-paul-campaigns-in-...

What Game are You Playing?

Call me too trusting, naive or sensitive of my "supposed" brothers and sisters of the revolution if you want but I waited til' tonite to watch this video because of the early comments. It sounded like we got crushed.

Are you freaking kidding me!!!

Ron rocked the house. Maybe it is satire? Maybe it is trolls? Either way, knock the crap off.

Go Ron GO!

Some people are always looking at the cup half full!!!

I totally agree with you brother!!! I've had that very same experience many times when I look at some of the comments made in relation to actually watching the video!!! I love it how so many people love Paul 'cause he isn't fake or a contrivance, but at the same time fault him for not acting just like all the other fakes!!! These are true Sun shine patriots I believe, who are way better at social media sites than actually getting out among there own communities in order to spread and support the freedom message!!!! But some I'm sure are just down right die hard patriots who are like my Dad!! Who someone else always has to explain and show just how full the cup is, and how truly lucky we are in order to have that cup, to have that much in it, and all the totally cool things we can do with it!!!!

Ron was given an opening when Romney said he wouldn't abuse NDAA

When asked about the NDAA, Romney said, as president he promised not to abuse it. I think RP missed a real opportunity to explain to the American people what Romney just said. Just by saying that he promises as President not to abuse that authority shows that he could, as could any other president in the future and even Obama now. That is scary!

Santorum and his 2nd Amendment attack on RP

I thought RP assumed too much. He assumed that the people knows he's a staunch support of gun ownership and a fierce opponent of ANY type of gun control.

But he needs to tell the people that. I think Santorum was successful in planting the doubt that RP somehow (illogical of course, all emotion) is somehow not friendly to gun owners, after all, Rick has an A rating from the NRA! wink wink

Of course the sheeple don't know that the NRA was compromised by the elites years ago and works to subvert the 2nd Amendment.

They also don't know that the only no-compromise 2nd Amendment rights advocate lobbying group is the Gun Owners of America.

Ron SHOULD have quickly rebutted the evil Rick by saying as he did in an email I just received from him:

"In 2011, I was given the "Defender of the Second Amendment Award" by Gun Owners of America. GOA's Executive Director, Larry Pratt, described me as "a leader in the fight to defend and restore the Second Amendment."

But perhaps he didn't want to criticize the NRA, since so many damn people think the NRA is "it." Far from the truth!

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

Correct me on the Booing

but it sounds like there was an obnoxious heclker, then some booing, RP ignored it, then more booing, RP ignored it, then RP finished his statement with "No war in Iran" to thunderous applause.

Maybe the booing isn't what we think it is? Maybe the heckler said something bad about Paul that offended the crowd so they booed him? Let's get to the bottom of this.

Yes!

Exactly. I only viewed this tonite because early comments made it sound so bad. BS. Posting about it right after this.

Ron Paul invoked the Golden Rule...

... and got booed. Newt invoked murder, and got cheered. Not a friendly crowd. But the truth still got out.

That crowd...

Made my skin crawl. How many of them even know who Eichmann is?

Full debate link here

It wasn't the best debate ever, but faux news tried to bate him several times to make a bad soundbite and he avoided it for the most part. I think it was successful as a whole as it only helped to spread the gospel of liberty. And finally here is the full debate link which puts things in perspective better than just the highlights IMO.

(Not my site I just googled it and that is what I found.)

YouTubes for History

Two biggest issues that require history are ..end the fed and foreign policy. Doc can't explain these in enough time on debates. Suggest he makes a separate vid on each and post them on Daily Paul so they are the first things they see when coming to this site. He can get his point across better by telling people to see this site then.
I was listening to Fox radio John Gibson and the guy doesn't have a clue about end the fed or why its such an important issue.
Most folks don't understand what the British and the U.S. did to the Iranians starting back in the 50's over oil.
Plus my vote will only be Ron Paul and I'm not voting for any of the others. Why should I vote for economical disaster or endless wars. This is a last chance stance!

So predictable...

I told my G/f (who is not yet a full RP supporter but is going to vote for him in primary) exactly what was going to happen at this debate. I told her it was in SC, which is a big military state and that they would totally ignore him, except to ridicule him on foreign policy by trying to isolate him from the rest of the field.

Romney is an issue??

Why is "Romney" his own separate issue??? I don't think Ron Paul got an answer for that, anyway.

Overall, I think Ron Paul did fairly well. This is not his best performance, but his words ring true. The message carries itself. He doesn't have to "perform" in order to change the minds and hearts of people.

Keep up the good fight, Doctor! We'll continue to pray for you and for everyone who hears your message.

Psst ... Mr. Moderator ... a Suggestion

Many of us think that some of Ron Paul's responses to some questions in the debate could be greatly improved, so as to connect with the voters who are not familiar with his policies or -- especially -- why he views things the way he does.

My suggestion:

(1) Start a new thread here on the Daily Paul, where specific questions are asked (i.e. What would you have done with Osama bin Laden? Why do you support an isolationist foreign policy? Will you endorse Mitt Romney when he is annointed (lol)).

(2) Let all of us who think we have good ideas for answers offer suggestions -- exactly the way we would answer if we were in his shoes at the debate. Within that thread, we could respond to other people's ideas, vote up/down, etc.

(3) Try to arrive at some consensus of the best answers that we do not see Ron Paul utilizing but that we think would be helpful.

(4) They you (so that RP doesn't get inundated with the same thing over and over), send an email to the Ron Paul Campaign and tell them who you are, what we did, and give them the best responses (along with a link back to the thread).

He's got his professional team, but for whatever reason, some of the debate answers are not hitting home.

What say you?

Agreed

It's a good approach and hopefully gets Dr. Paul's attention to start working on the "Lingo" as well.

ROMNEY DID NOT WIN IOWA???

BREAKING: York: Final count could show Romney lost Iowa!!!!!!

http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/article/york-fina...

WOW!!!!!!!

I think it was a Ron Paul

I think it was a Ron Paul supporter in Iowa, who posts on this forum, who challenged the vote.

Yea, his name was final count

he was indeed a paul supporter..

Dr. Paul's Performance at the debate...

was not the best I had seen of him. He had some very strong moments. What he needs to realize is that there are still too many people that don't understand the true meaning of many of the things he says. For example, on behalf of many unaware folks, I'd really like to ask him "WHERE" this revenue to pay for Govt expenditures will come from, if taxes are to be set at ZERO . He mentions about "User Fees" but that does not explain how to cover all expenditures. Ron Paul missed out on some key opportunities and swayed away and lost focus in other instances. At times, he talked WAY past the "close", where a quick and concise response would have put the nail in the proverbial Coffin.

I thought he did well

My only complaint was that he chose to talk about the NDAA but missed out on their question about his Budget plan which would have been a crowd pleaser.
