URGENT: DeMint *on the fence*! Tell him he can still support eventual nominee but should say, "Paul would be best to cut debt!"

1) DeMint is the biggest name in SC (and much of the Tea Party nationwide). An endorsement now would UNQUESTIONABLY give us the lead over Romney in SC.

Fact #2: DeMint is REALLY OPEN right now. His words show he's CONVINCED Paul is the best to cut the debt--his most passionate cause in Congress.

Fact #3: HE CAN BE PERSUADED to jump on board before Saturday. He's already risked a lot to speak up for Paul, and his friend, Sen. Davis (SC) is now on board.

Fact #4: He WANTS TO UNIFY THE PARTY. He wants Paul's libertarianism to win the day, but he wants desperately for whomever is nominated to beat Obama.

"Ron Paul is the BEST choice to solve our debt. Whomever is the nominee MUST beat Obama and will have my support, but Paul is unquestionably the strongest potential nominee."

Here's what I wrote on his FB page:

Senator DeMInt,

The troops support Ron Paul. He is the only one that will stop the out-of-control spending in Washington. He is the only one with the fortitude to obey the Constitution. He is the only one who can beat Barack Obama. Please join this historic movement!

Your biggest fan.

"Historically, revolutions are started by a select few, and are ignored by the mainstream for a long time — until they can no longer be ignored. That point has passed, and they can ignore us no longer". - Ron Paul

Thank you is a good place to begin

to coax along Senator DeMint's liberty leaning inclinations. At the risk of repeating myself and others I believe it will only annoy him to keep bugging him for "more" whether it is an endorsement or a statement or whatever. The voice on the robo-call is HUGE and is almost an endorsement. I don't think some "Likes" and thank yous for his dedication to liberty, decreased government spending and limited, constitutional government on FB would hurt. Other thoughts?

Yeah I have some..

One is: That's in his job requirement to listen to what the people have to say.. He works for US.. If I have to worry about bugging him, somebody doesn't understand his job very well.

Another: You don't thank someone BEFORE they've done something. If you do, then you're coming off as a suckup.. If he enjoys that kind of behavior he can fuck off. Stop trying to bribe people into doing the right thing.

One more: Saying we can use his voice in a robocall will be passing news unless he has the balls to back that up with an endorsement. He's playing politics and those that are pandering to him are less than honorable in my eyes.

Badger his ass all you want but in the end if he's playing both sides, he's a piece of shit. Stop sucking up to these people and have some pride FFS.

He doesn't want to endorse

Leave him alone. Focus on making your endorsement count with your family and friends. It is going to take millions of activists to elect Ron Paul not a couple hail mary endorsements.

Freedom and Reason, the highest ideals.

How bout liking him on Facebook?

"Chores" :-)

That word always reminds me of Little House on the Prairie.

“Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.” William Pitt

Endorsing Ron Paul would put him on the GOP insider hit list....

....but it would earn him the support, gratitude and loyalty of an army of liberty lovers and a doner base that would help fund any campaign he would run.

EDIT: I would add that I don't want to swamp him with calls and emails (unless you are a South Carolina resident)

As of now by speaking well of Ron Paul and by not endorsing anyone else, he has done us a great service. I will just be grateful if he does not endorse Romney.

We are the future of the GOP!

There is no doubt about it. He would be wise to get on the train early on. We'll have his back.

PLEASE FRONT PAGE THIS...this ONE thing would MOST impact SC!

More than phone calls, canvassing, etc....

DeMint holds the power to turn SC upside down,
AND HE'S 3 FEET AWAY, since all he has to do is clarify that not only does Paul have GOOD IDEAS, but he's the ONLY AND BEST candidate for cutting debt.

why is this man so important?

Isn't he a neo-con?

Wait a minute! *We* NEED neo-cons--

sorry for my 'oops'--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Leave him alone, please. He

Leave him alone, please. He is not endorsing anyone, he is not feeling he wants to. We should be very happy for what he DID do for us, and he already stated he has received TONS of communications about endorsing. We don't want to aggravate him..geeze.

well, but...

...he's only hesitating because he wants to not divide the party.

I contend he can do ONE MORE THING while STILL holding out the promise of getting behind whomever is the eventual nominee:
He can flat-out say that only Paul has what it takes to cut the deficit and therefore he'd be the strongest nominee.

He's all but said that already, and that would be an endorsement that wouldn't conflict with his desire to unify the party after the convention.

No one listens to him,

No one listens to him, either, I guess. They had to ask Ron a zillion times if he was going to run 3rd party, DeMint gave a resounding, unequivocal "NO" for endorsing anyone, and still u want to aggravate him with the pleas. Plain wrong to me, but, oh well..

Well, but don't you think...

...there's a difference between saying "Paul is best to cut debt" and endorsing?

YES he wants to support whomever gets the nomination and not divide the party.

He can still be HONEST and admit who is the only candidate with REMOTELY enough principle and backbone to do the kinds of drastic things he outlines in his debt-cutting book, "Now Or Never."

He's already ALMOST done that this week...but coming out and flat-out saying it while still keeping his options open to whomever takes the GOP nod would still be HUGE, GAME-CHANGING NEWS in SC.

It's just an exciting prospect...and worth showing him that we're behind him.

No means no. Bombing him with

No means no. Bombing him with calls might just piss him off.
