Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman abandoned his attempt at the Republican Party’s nod on Monday, not just narrowing the number of candidates vying for the GOP nomination but potentially pushing the contest in favor of Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

RT calls it like it is

...referring to Gingrich, Santorum, and Perry as "the pack of three bringing up the rear". Now if only the US media could just read the literal vote counts instead of hallucinating.

And it's early in the week.

Huntsman dropping out has to have the other 3 (Santorum,Newt and Perry) looking at each other as saying, I'll drop if you drop. Also, with Huntsman dropping, and endorsing Mitt, after bashing Mitt, it's like politics as usual.........all except Paul. He stands his ground, stays on message, doesn't compromise......people are warming up to that idea!

I hope you are right, however,......

it remains to be seen. South Carolina politics are very difficult to predict and more rhan likely corrupt like so many other states. It's a state with "hard" delegates. A winner take all state. Look at Louisiana, a state that Ron Paul would definirely win if the election were held today or even the original date for their caucus. The PTB (i.e. Gov. Jindal) of the state are more than likely going to push the date into the month of April to benefit Romney and for fear of Dr. Paul and his avid supporters. Remember back in 2008, the party apparatus of the GOP stole all of Ron Paul's delegates and simply gave them to John McCain. Political corruption at its finest. If Ron Paul does not win in Lousiana, we all will know why. He has a very organized and well established, and powerful organization in Louisiana. Anything politically otherwise, then Dr. Paul taking this state, will be pure election fraud.

Not "winner take all"

My bad. I am aware of the new proportionality rules.......

for the GOP primaries/caucuses. I repeated what one commentator stated while explaining the new delegate rules. His comment about South Carolina was incorrect. His/my mistake. Thanks for the correction.

No worries Sable

Yes, they're certainly trying hard to muck up the vote here aren't they?
