ATTENTION Doug Wead! Attention Jesse Benton! RED Alert!Submitted by BOOGAFISH on Tue, 01/17/2012 - 00:45
I know you guys actually read some of our posts on the Daily Paul, so that's why I'm writing this. I've trained fighters, and yes, I know that's a far cry from training a Presidential candidate, but I saw something tonight that, from my area of expertise, warrants immediate attention: The ENEMY just blew open a gash on Ron Paul's right eye and is going to repeatedly punch that wound from here on out...and it's going to be a bloody mess for him, unless something is done.
Granted, Ron Paul made big strides tonight when he talked about DEFENSE VS MILITARY. That's the answer all his supporters have been hoping for him to give for months now. It was a principled, Constitutional answer but gave the conservatives the red-meat they crave, and the crowd of South Carolinans loved it. Well, the ENEMY couldn't have Ron Paul coming off looking strong on foreign policy so they blindsided him with an old question about Bin Laden and the ENEMY got the result they desired. I know they'll use the same tactics in the future, so here's a couple of ideas on how Ron Paul might also give out a Constitutional answer to "Conservative Red Meat Questions" while flexing his muscles--
On Capturing Bin Laden-
1) "Have you actually read our Constitution, Brett Baier? Have you heard of the Letters of Marque and Reprisal? Do you have any clue what that term means? Thomas Jefferson used the letters of Marque and Reprisal to hire mercenaries to capture pirates who attacked us. Pirates know no nation. Jefferson understood that you can only declare war on nations, not gangs. Al Q'aeda is not a country, sir, Al Q'aeda is a group of bloodthirsty terrorists! (pause for cheers) That's why I supported, not to declare war on the entire Middle East, which is a wreckless use of our brave men and women, but instead to send in mercenaries to go directly after Bin Laden. We wouldn't have lost so many American lives engaging in nation-building, we wouldn't have added trillions to our national debt, and, most importantly, we would've captured, tried and killed Osama Bin Laden ten years ago if we actually dusted off the Constitution and figured out what it meant."
2) "Have you read Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution? The Constitution gives authority to Congress, not the President, to declare war. Think about that. Barack Obama could declare war next October simply to use it as a re-election ploy. That's why we have a Congress, that's why we have a Consititution, and if we don't start following it then get used to living under a single dictator who converts the blood of our brave soldiers into fuel for his political machine!"
Ron Paul is percieved by alot of Conservatives as being meek on the more red-blooded issues, but we know that's not the case. His answers tonight were sound and reasonable, but Ron Paul was booed SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE STIGMA OUT THERE THAT HE'S A WIMP, and he played into the enemy's trap tonight. In the future, I think he must go over and above--he's gotta show his fangs, he's gotta play into the "Us versus Barack Obama mentality" and club these cavemen over the head with a rolled-up Constitution to prove he's actually the strong, principled defender of Americans he truly is.
