Official Boycott of Lamestream Media Corporate Sponsors
Submitted by Woodman101 on Thu, 01/19/2012 - 03:22As a Ron Paul supporter since 2008 campaign (For Liberty!!!!), I have seen a very disturbing trend of smear campaigns and hit jobs on Ron Paul via the mainstream media. You know the typical culprits and pundits.
Well enough is enough!!!
I have been pondering an OFFICIAL BOYCOTT of the media's corporate sponsors. Getting a recording at the PR department at CNN, or calling to complain about the lack of integrity of Dana Bash hasn't cut it.
IT'S TIME TO THROW THE GLOVES OFF, AND FAST. WE ARE IN THE HEAT OF A CAMPAIGN AND BATTLE.
This is merely an idea, and by no means does this reflect my personal opinions or the opinions of the DAILY PAUL. This is freedom of expression. And I want to know what you think.
I have simply started jotting down the Corporate Sponsors of MSNBC. I don't watch TV much, but will to gather their sponsors to disseminate this information to others to see what they think about this, an idea, that needs to be implemented, and on an OFFICIAL WEBSITE that explains the mission statement.
That mission statement should include to boycott and cut off all profits from their sponsors, by boycotting the said sponsors of the media outlets lying, slandering, ridiculing, and attempting to ORCHESTRATE AN ENTIRE ELECTION, as seen in 2008. This is happening all over again, and to be honest with you, I've seen enough.
I am prepared to boycott each and every one of these companies for life IF THEY HAVE COMMERCIALS on these media conglomerates. Now if the product has already been bought, not much you do about it, use it. But if you have a choice of buying, don't buy these products, that is the concept, to make a statement that we as a voting and free Republic will not tolerate such behavior from what one would expect to be the news. I am prepared to boycott these companies for life, but you may consider otherwise, as that is your right, but please consider not doing business with ANY of these companies if they advertise on these news outlets.
Now first off, I watched, MSNBC and know they are owned by Comcast, so top of the list is Boycott Comcast Xfinity, because of MSNBC coverage of Ron Paul. CNN, as another example, I just have to gather their sponsors.
BUT I COULD USE SOME HELP AND HOPE TO GET ALL THIS UP ON A WEBSITE AND AM PREPARED TO DO SOME WORK AND GATHERING OF INFORMATION.
I've seen Dana Bash's coverage of Dr. Ron Paul, and I'll get to those sponsors in the VERY near future.
But for now this is just an idea, and I want to see what you think. Let me know if you think this idea has merits, and if we can rapidly implement this, and utilize an effective boycott NOW, in advance of this media smear and dog and pony show.
I think signs could be used in the background of these pundits as well. I just want to do my part. Believe me!
Here we go:
This morning this was MSNBC's sponsors, and I am boycotting them for life already. That's how far I am willing to sink my teeth into this, know why? I have choices, and I want to cut these sponsors and advertising dollars off from these pundits that slander and lie as a way of trying to control the outcome in this disgraceful process.

Who's in? Join me in this boycott. We can do this together and make this viral.
We can change the course of the election, in more ways than one.
Let's get it done.
**I added more but Daily Paul took this down and they weren't sure why. And I am not going back and adding the CNN Sponsors I had already updated. But will try in time.
If anybody wants to help, please do.
After that debate the other night...need to get FOX added.
Teach them what happens when they give all the time to "Frontrunner" Mitt and then Santorum.

Business Offering Anybody?
Anybody or business want to make an offering for the sake of offering it as an alternative?
Maybe let the price be known, the good, and reason why we should support your business, so long as you aren't advertising on mainstream media?
Any duration of time for the offering? Any bulk order price breaks?
Anybody want to offer a "lost leader" to get even?
How will you guarantee quality, delivery, and how will you establish trust with your product or service?
I'm curious what kind of alternatives we can generate and see if people are paying attention, and if we can harness any new business away from the corporate entities, by seing the results of new customers, or revenue dollars that shifted.
If your product or service is more expensive than the competitors, can you justify the value and the reasons why we should do business with your company (if we move away from the corporate sponsors)?

That type of boycott doesn't
Cancel your cable and encourage others to do so. That will affect their bottom line.
Ive learned a long time ago
Ive learned a long time ago to boycott AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, DirecTV, and the atypical sheisters that aren't ever doing business with under any circumstances.
But I am aware of the media bias that has existed thus far, and probably as long as I have been alive.
Be Your Own Media!!!
I don't patronize any of those businesses anyhow...
So, I cancelled my satellite service altogether. I told them why I was doing it. If enough people do this - the cable/satellite providers will sic their lawyers on msm and deal with the problem for us.

Did you have to pay to get out of your contract?
I had to pay $240 early cancellation on DirecTV after they did the classic bait and switch.
I would never do business with them ever again, FOR LIFE.
But then again, I wouldn't continue doing business with someone who was less than honest in their offerings, and it cost me. And I only had the service for like 4 months.
So that's 2 of us. 2 down. Who's with us?
Be Your Own Media!!!
Yes, I had to pay a $20 per month
for each month left on my two year contract. So I had to pay $80 to break my contract.

Make this easier for us:
Can we compile a list of contact information so that we may call these companies to voice our demands? If you get corporate email, please post it here.

OK back from Superbowl
OK back from Superbowl Sunday. I didn't watch a single play. I didn't buy a single budweiser. I didn't watch their commercials.
So I agree we need to come up with a plan, and I do like your idea of listing of emails or phone numbers so they can hear demands. But it's almost better that they figure it out all on their own, rather than them quantifying in advance the boycott numbers!!!
So in other words, what they don't know won't hurt them. :)
I think we all have some decent ideas. But I do think there needs to be a concerted effort, rather than someone saying, hey great idea. I know it's a great idea. Now like many great ideas, they aren't so great unless you do the things necessary to make them great.
There are many angles to take. And that could be defined in a mission statement.
But I must say that moving much further against very powerful forces welcomes legal harassment, which is why I have mentioned the need for sponsorship. One cannot simply tread into unchartered waters. I am a person of simple means but together we are a force to be reckoned with.
I propose getting together with KNOWN supporters, and maybe having a pow wow. It would be nice to have supporters or a means to defray costs as a team could put this together correctly. You start up an entity of for profit or non profit, that enters into the unknown, as does going it alone not knowing the laws. I don't see anything wrong with calling for company X's boycott, but to take it to a new height requires expertise.
Question, are there any associations or non profits that would incorporate this? Any ideas on how to defray costs? I have a few battles going on, but not a great deal of resources...but I have ideas.
Simply putting this on a website with alternatives, and a directory may be an option.
This could turn into a boycott gone bad for corporate sponsors, and turn it into a directory of freedom loving businesses and people, where our purchasing power can be combined to further turn this boycott into boycott gone bad for corporate sponsors.
Say for example, why not have a system where *committed buyers agree (binding) in advance for a bulk purchase, and then have an alternative company comply with the bulk price agreement, and transact it accordingly, like some shopping sites do?
Say this is done with brands of cars, or heavy equipment, or you name the commodity. These are just ideas, but sometimes ideas work.
I am street wise. But that doesn't mean I can volunteer the rest of my life, but with others we can get even and strike hard and eradicate them and bring the needed change.
But I hope to get others involved and take this beyond an idea. I need help. I just can't snap my fingers or bark out orders.
Any suggestions? I want to unleash myself and chase them down. I think there are a few others. Any guidance would be appreciated.

A SKype conference could be done, but oh yah, Microsoft owns them. So maybe we need an alternative to Skype.
Anybody want to nominate anybody for an honorary board member status for the Official Boycott? Any ideas for requirements to even be on the board (to avoid infiltrators)? Like have a 5 star rating amongst the Ron Paul circles? And then by vote? To meet in person or by teleconference?
Not talking of a blue ribbon group of people that can control it or say I do more than you do, but talking of a group of people that can come together and effectively put these people to shame.

I appreciate what they are trying to do but,
saying that it is just the "liberal media" twisting facts and misleading viewers, is turning a blind eye to the fact that it is ALL major media doing it. FOX is one of the worst.

Yep it's all media on TV.
Yep it's all media on TV. It's the 6 Media Conglomerates that control and filter the media.
And we are going after their corporate sponsors one by one. You will see people stop advertising on there because they don't want the negative press.
This will spread like wildfire.

This is a great idea. I want
This is a great idea. I want to make a suggestion. I don't know what everyone will think of it, but I saw a video on yahoo, yesterday. They were talking about "cash mobs". Has anyone else heard of this? Anyway, "cash mobs" are groups of people who go to local "mom & pop" businesses and make mass purchases to boost local businesses. What if we boycott the bad companies and boost the good ones while spreading the grassroots liberty movement, punishing the establishment, boosting our local economies (maybe eventually promoting sound currency on the local level), make videos of these events and make them viral. What do you think. Ron Paul Cash Mob: A nationwide grassroots movement to save America!!!
Add Washington Post's to that list too

Haha Nancy Grace (just because). Too funny!
I'm in even though Walmart and Walgreens were the only two on the list I use. I quit cable in 2004, FB several months ago and Sears was told to kiss it by yours truly about 2 years ago. Boycott city! Can we boycott Dodge just because their trucks have severe front end issues that they won't acknowledge? Any of you out there driving a Dodge truck google "death wobble" and be very, very careful. Sorry, off topic, people.
I boycotted FORD because they
I boycotted FORD because they don't stand behind their product and paint peeled.
And Durango.....well that tranny was expensive and all the proprietary parts, same. I won't be buying either of these 2 for life..
Same with GM....(Government Motors)
Yahhh. We need JOBS!!!! But I won't buy their garbage. Good luck with that JOBS thing
Be Your Own Media!!!
My little eco car (Ford
My little eco car (Ford Focus) started peeling paint on the hood and front bumper when it was less than one year old. The warranty covered it then and I made them paint it a SECOND time this year because it peeled again. I'm running out of people to buy from!
But seriously, the paint thing with Ford annoyed me but the issue with my Dodge truck is scary. One little bump in the road can make you lose total control and Dodge reps treat you like you're making it up when you call to complain. Youtube is full of videos of people documenting the problem and Dodge is literally sitting back doing nothing waiting for someone to get killed. I understand there's lawsuits in Canada over this very thing but nothing here in America as far as I know.
Sorry for the rant and the PSA, folks. Boycott away fellow DPers!
Ready list of easy alternatives
If this is going to be sustainable, then we need a list with a couple of relatively comparable and accessible alternatives for each of the companies/products being boycotted. People buy things because they think they need them, not because they support a cause; which means they typically don't stop buying them to support a cause either. I'll stop drinking tropicana and drink simply orange if tropicana is a horrible company; but it'd have to be really really really horrible (unlikely) for me to stop drinking orange juice completely. Provide people with alternatives.
Great idea. I suggest we have
Great idea.
I suggest we have a Boycott Commission and do it up right
We are up against mega corporations.
We need sponsors.
Be Your Own Media!!!
Better yet
just stop buying everything. That will show them.
I like it.... Don't Buy,
I like it....
Don't Buy, Don't Comply, Ask Why
And when that happens, they don't get profit dollars and the government doesn't get taxes. I say fair is fair, they got us in this mess. We can get us out of this mess. Voting doesn't seem to help, but an effective Boycott will.
I look forward to bringing a few of them to their knees. And then kicking them in the teeth.
