Vote RON PAUL 2008
Being new to this forum, I wanted to say that --
-- I watched the news reports last evening hoping (secretly praying) to see Dr. PAUL come blasting out of the starting gate with such vigor to cause the others spinning circles and wondering what the heck just happened // a bit disappointed this didn't happen -- But I can honestly understand why that was (or wasn't).
Mainstream Media has done its best to hide RON PAUL from the American voters -- that's the why of it // they constantly tell us about the smiling Obama, the smiling Giuliani, the smiling Hillary, the smiling Romney -- the frowning McCain // but seem to ignore Dr. PAUL and his sincere message as to why he is America's only hope. There's a reason they do that, folks, I'll let explanation of that pass with the assumption that everyone understands why that is as it is.
A bit disappointed, for sure; YET at the same time encouraged that we did as good as we did, considering. Wasn't it this same Iowa that initially excluded RON PAUL from their on-stage Presidential Debate?
YET look at what we did there, regardless -- we placed; and we placed better than that smiling Giuliani (whom I suspect truly isn't smiling at all and has that perpetual grin only to mask his real feelings in most regards).
But that's okay, because the race has only begun.
Anyone that has ever been to a horse race knows that the first one out of the gate isn't always the first one to finish. Let's keep up the good work, folks, and continue to support Dr. RON PAUL because he is truly America's ONLY hope. A definite champion -- America's ONLY hope.
Forgive the use of CAP KEYS and repeats -- just my way of wanting to make my point on certain issues.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ALL AND LET'S GET 'OUR CHOICE' (DR. RON PAUL) IN THE WHITE HOUSE // THE OTHERS ARE CERTAINLY INVITED TO FIND A SEAT IN THE 'OUT HOUSE' WHERE THEY BELONG.
(posted elsewhere -- still trying to grasp forum mechanics, sorry)

Good strategy
I think its good timing that Huckabee won Iowa. Now he will peak and become the prime target for the other candidate's campaigns, and his background, treachery and corruption will take center stage as he is more closely scrutinized. He will be exposed for what he is. Meanwhile while everyone goes after Huckabee, Ron Paul can continue his sure and steady pace. I say - let them rise and fall, like Guilliani. In the end only Ron Paul will be left standing.
Political hardball time
We didn't do poorly at all for having been in the low single digits only a month ago. Nevertheless, we made some mistakes in Iowa (based on my own observations on the ground in Iowa, and those of relatives who live there), otherwise I think we could have scored 12%--maybe even 13 or 14%, and ended in third or fourth rather than fifth place. I don't want to get into a troll war, so this isn't the place to argue them. Suffice it to say that I believe we need better media ads placed earlier--not waiting until the last minute when we'll be just another voice in the cacophony assaulting the ear-sore voters; we need more face and hand-pressing time, fewer debates and speeches; and we need to focus on OUR core constituencies--- independents, fiscal conservatives and paleoconservatives, libertarians, discontented socially conservative Democrats---and blue collars out of work or economically downscaled or threatened with the same because of NAFTA- and WTO-driven factory closures. We're never going to out-evangelize an Arkansas Bible-thumper, no matter what we think of his real agenda. While we may nibble around the edges, I don't think we're going to shake Huckabee's core constituency---he sings the song too well, and cutting off aid to Israel, opposing the marriage amendment and not supporting Federal prohibition of abortion are just too big of emotional bones for most evangelicals to swallow, no matter how we try to reason with them. Faith is not reasonable.
So, gird up your loins and off to Wyoming, New Hampshire, Michigan ... Let's redouble our efforts---but also honestly face our mistakes and learn from them, not become fanatics. Definition of a fanatic: "Someone who, having lost his way, doubles his speed to get there faster."

Thanks Salt for your efforts in IA
I want ads that reflect the humaness of Freedom. I'm pushing hard to get the JBlack TV ads in the air in MI. We can get the thinkers, but we have to have something to get the feelers, cause there's lots more of them out there.

LA Times: "Paul Takes Revenge on Rudy for May Debate"
The press is stressing how RP beat Julie Annie by a mile.

Ron Paul gets some revenge
An easily overlooked aspect of the Iowa caucuses -- Ron Paul not only besting Rudy Giuliani, but doing so by more than 2-to-1 -- sparked a trip down memory lane for us.
It was mid-May, and the former mayor of New York was riding high following one of the early debates among the Republican presidential candidates. The primo sound bite had been a snap to identify: Giuliani's outraged, impassioned reply to Paul's assertion that U.S. foreign policy, especially the periodic bombing of Iraq in the aftermath of 1991's Gulf War, was to blame for the Sept. 11 attacks.
Giuliani, not waiting to be called upon, seized the moment by terming Paul's comment "an extraordinary statement" and urging the Texas congressman to retract it (which Paul did not).
To give Paul his due, even in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 -- when the emotional response to the assault was at its rawest -- serious scholars had begun hashing over the role played by American policy in the Mideast, particularly long-standing support for Israel, in fueling Islamic extremism and hatred for the U.S. But in the format of a candidate debate -- where rhetorical zingers count far more than lengthy discourse -- Paul's remark amounted to a grooved fast ball down the middle, and the consensus at the time was that Giuliani parked it.
As MSNBC's online political note put it at the time, Giuliani may want to "hire out Paul for the campaign trail -- he could be the Washington Generals to Rudy's Globetrotters" (i.e., the patsy willing to get beaten in every game).
That was then, this is now. In Iowa, Paul, 10%; Giuliani, 4%.

The problem is
That we missed out on a great opportunity to break through the old media, if for only a few nights. Huckabee is gaining a huge amount of free press. THompson can continue on to New Hampshire. Had we been where thompson is, things would be different.
Second, the issue of electability did not go away. We still seem like also rans.
Also, so much for the RP underpolls - apparently this is not true - it is time we start taking the polls more seriously.
Last, undecideds - I don't think many last minute deciders went for RP - Because of the Old Media, he has created too many negatives. and the Bushites are never going to vote for him - I repeat, Bush republicans will never vote for RP.
So as we regroup to go to New Hampshire, Lets become a bit more realistic.
Political hardball--learn from mistakes and press on
Repeat--sorry.

Give me Liberty or Give me death
Don't delude yourself
The cross wrapped in the flag crowd is going to be a VERY big obstacle to overcome. I'm sad to say that if this is any indication of evangelical America then "the CFR anointed one" Mike Huckabee will be our next Commander in Theif.
Watch the film "THX1138" online for a glimpse into the future.

Huckabee doesn't have a hope
of getting elected. Sure, a majority of the evangelicals may vote for him for religious reasons. But there is a much larger percentage of the population that finds his overt religiosity repellant and would never vote for him. The Dems know it. They also know when you add in his corruption, tax raising, bribe taking, releasing violent criminals from jail it would be a cakewalk for them if he nabs the GOP nomination.

What Is A Huck-a-bee?
Vote RON PAUL 2008
That sure has a terrible sound to it, doesn't it -- our next Commander in Thief // HUCKABEE.
What the heck is a 'Huck-a-bee' anyway? The opposite of a 'Huck-a-not to bee' // you think? I like the sound of that much better, myself, i.e., Huck-a- 'not to bee' our next president.
Not being overly religious myself (I certainly don't subscribe to any specific mainstream thoughts on the subject) -- I believe we need someone MORE than just someone who would have us believe it's best to turn the other cheek.
That's why I say VOTE RON PAUL 2008, America's only true hope.
My continuing thoughts on the subject.
