Constitution Party expects to have ballot access in all 50 states.
Submitted by truud2 on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 10:0367% of Americans say they'd consider voting for an independent candidate!
In 2008, Ron Paul, consumer rights activist Ralph Nader and The Constitution Party's Chuck Baldwin teamed up in some fashion, I seem to remember. Is that correct? And do anybody here remember what that cooperation was about? Could it be revitalized if the Republican party, unfairly tries to sabotage Ron Paul's candidacy?
Rasmussen: 35% of conservatives say they'd pick a third party candidate over a Republican.
A Fox News poll ( http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,287190,00.html ) showed 67% of Americans said they'd consider voting for an independent candidate. An earlier Rasmussen survey showed 58% said it would be good for the United States to have a "truly competitive" third party. Voters are now weighing their options, especially on the issue of immigration. According to Rasmussen, 35% of conservatives said they'd pick a third party candidate over a Republican.
In 2012, the Constitution Party expects to have ballot access in all 50 states.

Oregon Constitution Party wants Ron Paul
As Presidential Candidate on November Ballot

Ron Paul is the wanted man, in many more ways than one!

Glad you should ask.
Not that I have your answer. During the '08 primary the CP Party went all out, not sure about Nadar, campaigning for RP. Then the CP party was low funded to campaign for the national. RP endorsed Baldwin/Castle ticket.
The scheme has been, in my one heart and mind; if RP didn't make the ticket for GOP; all third parties team up to take down this machine! I listen to Darrell Castle's pod casts, still (Chairman Tennessee Constitution Party and '08 VP candidate.) Baldwin still hammers for our man.
Mr. Castle "gets it" and, I am hoping these liberty minded, statesmen, may have a plan. Castle is excellent on foreign affairs, veteran, and most of his pod casts mentions our guy.
I know several disgruntled Dems who changed to 3rd party. Brokered convention, 3rd parties, what ever it takes.
God Bless America!
That's awesome!!!
I live in Oregon and this news just made my night! I know many here on the DP don't like the idea of going third party, but it is an option that must be considered if we are serious about restoring this once great country now and not later. Ron Pauls campaign should use a strategy of if you don't vote for Dr. Paul then we will just go third party and you the republican party will definitely regret it and lose big in the general election. I hope the Constitution Party nominates Ron Paul in all the states they can, or any third party for that matter as a good plan b if the establishment thwarts our delegate driven brokered convention plans.
new angle on an old story
I was just informed that the Oregon Constitution Party chose their presidential nominee a few days ago: Ron Paul.
Ron Paul will thus be on the ballot in Oregon in November. What that means, obviously, is that if Ron is not the GOP nominee, a whole bunch of votes are going his way and not theirs, because a lot of people will vote RP if he is on the ballot.
I don't know how many other states may/can do this, but... this is absolutely leverage on the GOP to think very, very hard about their choices. :-) How many states can they afford to lose a chunk of votes in?

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.
Not just votes lost.
Delegates RP accumulates?
no, this is not about delegates
The CP ballot listing is about drawing RP voters onto the RP line on the ballot. The delegates are for the nomination convention of the Republican Party; that convention will be in the past when the general election ballot is here.
The warning to the GOP is: if you don't nominate Ron Paul, he will still be on the ballot anyway, and you'll lose a ton of his voters because of that.

Glad you replied.
That is the point I was inquiring, Prospector Sam. With the delegates RP has accumulated (gives RP leverage with GOP). CP on ballot in all 50, they choose Paul, if even feasibly possible; equals great power for liberty!
Glad it's old
Actually I m glad it's an old story. If RP doesn't get the nomination we don't need both constituion party and libertarian party splitting the vote. We'd need only one liberty oriented party for now - as a matter of fact they should probably meet each other somewhere in the middle (which probably wouldn't be a huge step for either) and run as one party.
Old Story
That story is from 2007...I would be more interested in how the would vote today.
Gallup poll sees growing support for third party in GOP,
Found a newer poll (May 2011) confirming the trend in the 2007 poll in my root posting.
Gallup poll sees growing support for third party in GOP, Tea Party
By Michael O'Brien - 05/09/11 01:56 PM ET
A majority of Republicans said for the first time that a third party was needed in American politics, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.
52% of Republicans, and an even stronger number of Tea Party supporters, support the creation of a major, third political party, underscoring the occasional tensions between grassroots conservatives and the GOP establishment.
An overall majority of Americans, 52%, said that a third political party was needed; the most profound shift has come among Republicans.
The number of Republicans who said that a third political party was necessary was at an all-time high since Gallup first began tracking opinion on the issue in 2003. And while support for a third party has crept steadily upward in the GOP, for the first time, it represents a majority opinion.

You're right
You're right 89vision. Sorry I didn't notice the posting date. Guess I just got too excited about the poll results.
But haven't there been any similar polls since 2007?
