Gingrich Cancels Campaign Event, Poor Attendance - Ron Paul Draws over 1,000 at Same College

What? The media tells us Newt is 'first' in polls?

"CHARLESTON, S.C.- Newt Gingrich has cancelled a campaign appearance in South Carolina because of poor attendance."

"There were just a few dozen people in the audience at the College of Charleston's arena, where the event was taking place."

Ron Paul's College of Charleston event draws over 1000:

What are you Talking About?

I saw the video of his speech at the college too. There was WAY more than 30 people. Just click on the link under the post headline and look!

skippy

the speech at southern

the speech at southern republican conference has about 30 people, the speech at charleston college has hundreds.

Both speeches were at College of Charleston

As you well know.

u r trying to make it like

u r trying to make it like the same event title drew more people to RP than to newt, yes the same place but different dates and different titles, so plz stop this nonsense, my best bet u r just having fun by pretending u don't understand what people here r telling u, but if u really really don't get it then I think u r in serious trouble,.......

The post contains the facts

It's you that is interpreting them.

I give up

I give up

I know. It's like talking to

I know. It's like talking to a wall... No wonder why we, supporters, get a bad rep.

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

I think we should just try to

I think we should just try to enjoy it and have fun with this little post, like we say. did u c that? RP has more than 10000 attended, he may change back to the truth lol

Maybe you are right, but I

Maybe you are right, but I find it unbelievable that we point to the facts and we get thumbs down....lol

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

believe me he is just having

believe me he is just having fun

This guy is a complete

This guy is a complete freakin' moron. Maybe a troll. I'm not sure why a moderator doesn't remove this. The events were at two different addresses. One was a huge outdoor event. The other was a small indoor event. It's like saying that Rock Group A performed at Madison Square Garden's big arena, which holds 30K people, and Rock Group B performed upstairs in the small arena which holds 2K people and calling it the same venue.

Sometimes I really wonder about some people here.....!!

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

i think moderator didnt

i think moderator didnt remove this post because of freedom of speech, but then its misinformation, so i dont know really what to do

Same event, same property

gingrich and paul were 0.35 miles apart. I mapquested it.

Big universities, just as big military bases are like little cities. They have streets within them, with names.

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign: that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. ~J. Swift

Different event, same property

That is what they are nitpicking.

No, not same event. One took

No, not same event. One took place a day before OUTdoors. The other the next day, INDOORS in smaller space. Both not in same place. You wouldn't consider the bathroom of the Roxy the same event as the stage at the Roxy, would you? It really baffles me that people are defending this.

Second, Ron Paul drew 1000 people the first day. He drew about 30-35 people the next day, which is the gig Newt Cancelled after the low attendance. So why on earth do people continue to say it was the same event with the 1000 people?

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

"Indoor" event took place in a stadium with capacity 5,100

I say to you again. Which makes your argument about the size of the space irrelevant.

Never said it was the same event.

It's amazing how much you don't like to hear about Gingrich cancelling for lack of participation and Ron Paul drawing a crowd of over 1,000, regardless of when and where they took place.

Are you sure you're a Ron Paul supporter?

Or do you just play one on Daily Paul?

Do you like the word "college?"

Since "venue" confuses you and causes all sorts of problems for you, including name calling.

P.S. the TD Arena seats 5,100.

Maybe it's you?

Ever thought about that?

Maybe you are also not

Maybe you are also not interested in FACTS?

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

It's the same place, College of Charleston.

Look it up, or just read.

Well, in this case the event

Well, in this case the event was cancelled because all week long the conference had suffered from poor attendance, a conference which cost $99 to attend and tried to lure people by promising "admission to Friday night's banquet featuring Dick Morris!!" I can't believe I missed that. :)

Ron Paul still showed up and spoke

The event itself was not cancelled, only Gingrich.

Yeah, Paul's speech was

Yeah, Paul's speech was great, and it sounded like he had a pretty decent crowd.

Moderator. Can you please

Moderator. Can you please remove this thread?? The facts are wrong. It should not be front page at all. We have tried to tell this poster this.

Newt and Paul were schedule to appear THIS morning at Southern Republican Leadership Conference, in Charleston, South Carolina. (indoor event)

See: http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2012/01/20/gingrich-cancel...

Even Paul mentions at the conference that Newt cancelled. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5NnPoH7HbI

The poster keeps citing "mercury" as a source, but it was WRONG. Newt was NOT scheduled to be at the Bully Pulpit Series at College of Charleston, which is located: 7 College Way, Charleston, South Carolina (outdoor event)

He was scheduled to appear with paul at:

TD Arena, 301 Meeting St., Charleston, South Carolina (indoor event)

While it is definitely true

While it is definitely true that Paul is pulling in larger crowds than all the others, this post's comparison is misleading. I have watched Ron Paul's SRLC speech and it wasn't as well attended as Paul's normal rallies because the conference itself was not well attended. It says more about the ability of the SRLC to draw a crowd than it does about Ron Paul or Newt.

Let's stick to legitimate contrasts, and not mimic the sort of manipulation of the truth that has been so common among the critics of Ron Paul.

It's legitimate to contrast Paul's crowds with Newt's

They don't need to be from the same day, or the same event.

If Newt really is in first, where are his crowds of supporters? Is there any event where he drew over 1000?

You can't be this clueless

So what is your motive?

This has been explained to you repeatedly.

This was two different events at the same venue.

Both sources are accurate.

NOT same venue!! How many

NOT same venue!! How many times do I have to tell you? Different addresses. What is wrong wit you? Did you bother to look at the FACTS I gave you?

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

A venue is a location.

Both events were held in the same location, or the same venue, College of Charleston.

God, you are hopeless..

God, you are hopeless.. Seriously... Keep misleading the people. What do I care... I tried, as have many others...
