Ron Paul reacts to Rand's detention: 'The Police State in this country is growing out of control'

Republican presidential candidate and Texas Rep. Ron Paul issued a sharply-worded statement in reaction to the detention of his son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, by TSA agents in Nashville Monday.
“The Police State in this country is growing out of control,” said Paul in a statement provided to The Daily Caller. “One of the ultimate embodiments of this is the TSA that gropes and grabs our kids and our seniors and does nothing to keep us safe.”

The good Dr.
Should capitalize upon this flagrant unconstitutional violation of legislative privilege by pointing out that this is the kind of behavior we have come to expect from authoritarian regimes such as what we have in Cuba. This would play well in Florida and I was seriously hoping he would start down this road.
If not us than who?
...and PLEASE all...
...do not fall for the "we like Rand, but not Ron" Neo-Con ruse!!!
All over right-wing talk radio, everyone likes Rand - this is a LIE, and their OUT for not supporting Ron Paul!
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree on NDAA, trading liberty for security in all areas, nor spending for wars against Israel's enemies!!!
Neo-Cons saying they "like Rand, but not Ron" is just kicking the big government spending and debt abomination can down the road four more years(holding their noses and voting for Romney, which will re-elect pro-war, pro-government spending NO DIFFERENT Obama)!!!
My neo-con buddy said today, when he saw this TSA story on Drudge; "this is Rand drawing attention to himself without making an a## out of himself; I like that" He went on to say, "Rand is a friend of Hewitt, Rand is a friend of Medved, Rand is a friend of mine" - he knows not to say Ron is an Alex Jones kook in front of me anymore; but that is what right wing radio has painted him as!!!
Anyway - start calling talk radio shows about Rand Paul - and make the talk show host explain how the fiscal restraint and less government spending/taxing/spying they support in Rand is NOT present in Ron Paul's platform!
We cannot kick the can down the road 4 more years - this is deceptive; if they like Rand, they HAVE TO like Ron....ain't no way around it if you think this country is headed in the wrong direction...Obama wasn't the ONLY one complict in creating our debt crisis...Republicans since 1980 have been spending like mad and expanding the size of government at an exponential rate!!!

"I like Rand but not Ron"
Americans who subscribe to the neocon mythology are pathologically addicted to the notion that we are under threat and must kill to be safe. They are hooked to revenge and violence.
Seeing Christians so full of loathing is especially alarming. It's like a sickness.
And if these people would merely do some research about who the original neoconservatives are, what they believe, what their stated goals were for empire-building before 9-11...they could be free of their bloodlust.
But they refuse to learn, they are content with media myths and brainwashing. You can lead a neocon to real information, but you can't make him read and understand.
I agree. Listen to Rand's
I agree. Listen to Rand's speeches on the senate floor about the NDAA, etc...and the clip of him grilling Tim Geithner (and watch Timmy squirm!).... He gets it. The reason the neocons pretend to like him (but not Ron) is because he is Tea Party, and as we know... the establishment pretends to be Tea Party. It's pretense. But watch, the moment Rand actually starts polling well in a Presidential primary one day, Rush and all the usual suspects will show their true colors again. Count on it.

Sharply worded...hell yes.
That is a powerful statement from the good doctor. Well said!!

thanks RAND PAUL, i'm very very proud of you !!!
i was reading comments by various sheeple today, about this incident. it's scary how many people don't get what's going on. some people were actually saying that rand didn't cooperatate because he thinks he is above the law. lots of brain-dead garbage like that.
i'm so grateful to rand that he stood up for his rights, which inspires us to do the same. i hope the masses of sheeple will wake up before it's too late.

I like how they call it a
I like how they call it a "pat down"...!! I would like to see how people would react to being patted down like that by security everywhere, in every office building and state building...!
More like being frisked like a common criminal "suspect"
.
We will probably be finding
We will probably be finding that out within a few short years unfortunately.
Rand should not be going
Rand should not be going through the x-ray scanner Dr Paul. I do not know why he would be condoning the use of them. They are 1984 realized. Body scanners that virtually remove your clothing so a guy in a back room can look at you? Now that's a bit creepy!
I've seen a few youtubes of how the images can be easily changed to make you look in the flesh naked almost as if someone had taken a picture of you in your birthday suit!
Senator: Kudos on Refusing the Pat-Down - ESP when you realized they had no valid reason to do one.
Hmm... what should my quote be?

No one can say,
well, no honest person can say, "oh, but they only say something when it's them." They've been saying something when it was us, too, that's clearly on record.
Defend Liberty!
You tell'em, Doc!
Thanks for posting.
Bump!
Ron I hope you bring this up in next debate!Prayers for you and Rand!
Oh, C'mon
you silly people, don't you know that we have to give up our freedom to protect our freedom!
Abolish the TS&A
TSA Machines Banned In Europe
You all do know that the terahertz carcinogenic scanners are banned in Europe, where the European Union deemed them dangerous, saying "we don't want to x-ray our people."
There is a rule in debates that I wonder if people know. It is to always speak not from the throat or lungs but from the front of the mouth. The lips are used to form every word. This is an exceedingly effective technique. Each word is trusted subliminally, as people can see the words formed.
I remember reading about
I remember reading about that. I still can't beleive the Europeans stood up to their colonial masters in Washington!
Get 'em!
I hope Ron forcefully decries the TSA at the debate tonight and makes it clear that his trillion dollar budget cut would ELIMINATE the agency. The majority of Americans are with him on this!
Yup, RON has to bring up the seriousness of the civil rights
infringements caused by the ever-expanding TSA /HSA.
Romney wouldn't. . . with Michael Chertoff on Mitt's Foreign Policy and National Security Advisory Team ( http://mittromney.com/blogs/mitts-view/2011/10/mitt-romney-a...) Mitt is already compromised.
Got a feeling...
I have a feeling that although Dr. Paul is the consumate gentleman, sometimes to his own detriment, I think he is going to come out guns a blazing tonight. I think this is the fire in the belly he needs for tonight and I hope he lights up that stage with conviction and truth.
Give 'em hell Dr. Paul for Rand and for liberty!

Yea I would think this would
Yea I would think this would be an issue we would have the majority clearly on our side but you never know. The scared law and order conservatives might be alarmed that somehow reducing TSA's power or eliminatinf it would make us less safe and you know they will gladly give up all their freedom for the illusion of safety.
Anyone who is more scared of
Anyone who is more scared of Muslim terrorists than of the US government is both a fool and a coward. In order to prevent one threat we've given up our freedoms to a much more dangerous threat.
