Isn't CSpan paid for by our tax dollars?

If so----why did they repeatedly show the same events held for Obama, Hillary, Huckabee and Romney for 2 days before the Iowa Caucus? They should have covered the Ron Paul Veterans gathering and other events.
I think we should write to our congressmen about this.

CSPAN call ins for Ron Paul

Is it just me, or were there an overwhelming number of people calling into CSPAN the night of and night before the Iowa caucus in support of Ron Paul? That woman looked shocked, and usually cut people off. But if they called in support of some idiot like Huckabee, she let them go on and on and on. I tried to call in and never could get through.

I'm also wondering the same thing as others, where's the other 4% of precincts and why are they taking so long to report? How can anyone even put out concrete numbers until they have? What is going on?

No, it's financed by cable systems...

Most of which, due to corrupt local legislators and rampant economics-cluelessness, are monopolies despite the poor service record of monopolies compared to free enterprise. But C-Span's like PBS, usually a better thing than you'd expect, considering the source. (I'd still defund PBS entirely from tax dollars, if I could, but then I'd actually contribute to their beg-a-thons!!)

No, it is not.

CSPAN is a PR public service of the cable TV communications industry association. The focus is on government and civics, but it is a privately owned organization. They can pretty much do as they wish. That said, there is no venue that is more fair, balanced, and open to the electoral process than than are. CSPAN is highly imperfect, but they are still the best, by far.

Television: Why do you think they call it "programming"?

If You Have Cable Service

Part of you monthly fees go to C-SPAN because it is the cable companies that provide funding for C-SPAN. C-SPAN receives no government funds.

I regularly watch C-SPAN. They have been blatantly biased against Ron Paul.

Thank you,

But even if so, if it is a "public service" of cable tv, they certainly did let the public down by airing the same thing over and over instead of filming different events.
I do agree that when it comes to the talk in shows on CSpan they are more fair and balanced than the OM cable channels.
Would it be appropriate to email CSpan with our concern that we would like to hear from ALL the candidates?
