Director Oliver Stone Praises Ron Paul in New Interview

161 votes

Director Oliver Stone was just interviewed by Rock Cellar Magazine. In the interview he says:

"I think in many ways the most interesting candidate – I’d even vote for him if he was running against Obama – is Ron Paul. Because he’s the only one of anybody who’s saying anything intelligent about the future of the world."

"Why is it necessary for every candidate – except for Ron Paul – to pay obeisance to this hypocrisy that the U.S. is a good force in the world, and that it is the dominant force, and can be the policeman of the world?"

Every possible surrogate needs to be contacted by the

campaign and enlisted for a little help. There is such a thing as The California Primary. Last look, it had quite a few delegates. I wonder if Oliver Stone might energize some Ron Paul supporters IF he was ASKED to introduce Ron Paul at a couple of speaking engagements there? Duh.

It's among the Drudge headlines now

"Oliver Stone would vote for Ron Paul over Obama..." Did he say that exactly?

Why don't you just read the text above?

And you will have your answer.

Durr

I looked at everything else but that particular line. Like when I go to a store and the answer I'm looking for is on a huge sign right in front of me yet I don't see it. LOL

Oliver Stone had a huge part in my awakening.

Seen JFK 5 or 6 times at the theater in 91, I think it was. It blew my mind. I bought Jim Marrs' Crossfire book and Jim Garrisons' book after watching the movie. Oliver supporting Ron on this, just makes sense. Awesome. If you haven't watched JFK, please do, it's amazing.

Lets win these polls

It's all bullshit!

Unless Stone comes out in public and declares his support for Ron and says that he is voting for him in the primary, and calls on all of his Hollywood cronies to do the same, it is just bullshit. He is just as non-committal as Jon Stewart who throws out a few positive statements but won't commit for fear of public ridicule. Am I mistaken, or didn't he put out that piece of crap 911 movie that had nothing to do with reality. It amazes me how some Paulites can be such Paultards. Every time someone popular throws them a bone, they're quick to jump on it and make more out of it than what it really is. You need to stop jumping to assumptions and write to these public figures and get them to either come forward 100% to support Ron or shut the fuck up. Posting these articles where people just mention Ron as an aside doesn't mean shit. It's comparable to getting an honorable mention at the Oscars; They may applaud for the loser, but they're still a loser, because no one cared enough to vote them in.

Maybe you shouldn't have typed when so raged.

I've done that before, but don't so much now. Like spitting out venom when angry, we can regret what we say. Maybe not in your case, not sure.

Thanks

Thanks for censoring my First Amendment rights above. I just lost any respect I had for this blog.

Calm down

People disagreeing with you isn't violating any of your rights. Grow up.

You know why you're getting bashed?

Because this site is PRIVATE PROPERTY, INVITATION ONLY. It's open to millions and millions of people (including you and I), but it's not a free-for-all. There's a lot of info on this site letting you know ahead of time how the site works and what's not allowed (not to say you've done anything against the rules, just pointing out that there are rules).

This kind of back-and-forth is not infighting. Quite the opposite - it's the perfect example of private property rights in action... NO GOVERNMENT REQUIRED. Someone doesn't like what you've said, they'll tell you. Don't you expect that from friends? You don't just kiss your friends' asses all the time do you?

Anyhow, now that I have that off my chest, welcome! Please don't take what I've said personally.

Not censored. Highlight it with your mouse.

It's automatic.

I take offense to both "Paulites" and "Paultards."

Apparently you didn't have any respect in the first place.

This is a private forum, that means the owner can kick you out of his house at any moment for anything he wants, much less change the color of your text.

Unless...

Amazon.com money bomb?

Amazon.com movie money bomb?

Great for Blue Republicans

although you know how it'll be spun by Rush/Levin/Hannity/Beck et al:

"Ron Paul is so opposed to America's military might that even commie pinko ultra-liberal Oliver Stone thinks he's great, better than Obama even! Now what does that tell you about Ron Paul's claim to be a conservative?"

Of course they will ignore his pitch for fiscal responsibility because it doesn't fit their template.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

Man this is very incouraging

He wants to see capitalism find its way. Maybe we can all work our way out of this fascist/communist hell hole the world finds its self in. Now how do we shackle cronyism and how do we get our government back in her shackles. The spirit of the people are crying out for freedom. We might not have to all be on the same page but we better all at least start reading the same book. When I say we I mean the people!

End counterfeiting

That is the source of intervention without raising taxes.

The people don't know their money is being stolen, so they don't react.

The BIG Question...

Is anybody over at one of the Paul SuperPACs looking at or tracking these celebrity endorsements, and dispatching people out to the Stones and Lucases and Clarksons et al, to persuade them to do a BIG donation, on a high profile basis for Paul?

Imagine the impact of a high profile joint press conference where a number of big celebrities announce they have pooled 5, 10, or more million bucks for the Revolution PAC? Talk about a momentum builder!

Yes!

Just what we need!

Я Ξ √ Ω L U T ↑ ☼ N 2012!

This endorsement requires us to make it go VIRAL!!!

What a great article....And a fine endorsement for the good doctor.
Oliver Stone at his best....fair and concise...He nails The USA and its path to Hell...in fine fashion.
He shows his intelligence by his desire to vote for Ron Paul in November.
This requires us to keep it bumped till November too,at the very least.

"Carpe Diem"-Seize the day!!!

The Big Picture for Ron Paul - A Game Over for his Opponents

Here is my case for Ron Paul:

http://www.dailypaul.com/207628/the-big-picture-for-ron-paul...

I got inspired by all the long posts of late and put together my thoughts on why he's the best candidate. I believe it's a KO for all his competitors.

Check it out!

This'll cost him points

This'll cost him points with the major studios for sure. Still.. who cares. I don't think he does. Great director, you can disagree with his views but you can't deny he knows his stuff. Great endorsement to have.

I wish he would produce a TV ad for Dr. Paul

You know, make it dynamic.........during the Super Bowl!

How about a film on central banking?

Money, fiat currency, counterfeiting, and fractional reserve banking.

That would seem right up his alley.

Yeah.

He would be good if he went at it like he did with his movie JFK.

OKay, that's worth something.

It sort of makes sense knowing some of the movies he's put out.

I'll be watching his older and newer stuff with a little more enjoyment. :)

Delegates win.. Here's how.
www.ronpaul2012.com/delegate/

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

There isn't to many bigger fish

in the hollywood pond than oliver stone. Is this a wink and a nod??

He nailed it with JFK.

That movie's main point was the truth, and it was done well enough by Stone.

Interestingly, as a tourist in Vietnam back in 1989, I went to a tourist spot about an hour from Saigon. I was the only one there. I went to sign the guestbook, and the last person to sign it was none other than Oliver Stone!

That was when he was making his famous movie on the Vietnam War. Can't remember the title, can anybody help me?

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

Don't forget W

I was expecting to see a typical liberal point of view in his film about Baby Bush. Instead, I saw a brilliantly directed film on par with, if not better than, Platoon and JFK. It was at that moment I gained the utmost respect for Oliver Stone.

Surprised at the endorsement but, maybe not so surprised after seeing W.
