Marine with Silver Star voting for Ron Paul

10 years ago, I was applying to West Point. My brother was 2 years older than me and just working small jobs and playing baseball after highschool. 9/11 happened and (knowing I had researched the different military services) he asked me, "If I want to fight, I mean really get in the fight...what service should I join?"

Later that day, he called my dad and asked for a ride. "From where?" was my dad's response. His heart dropped a little (and my mother's alot) when he said "the Marine Corps Recruiting Station". He had just signed up. He did 4 tours in Iraq. On his 2nd tour he was involved in fighting in Fallujah and helped save his Platoon Commander's life and lead his surrounded unit to safety. This action earned him the Silver Star (3rd highest award for valor in the military). He'd kill me for writing this (he isn't on DailyPaul) because he rarely speaks of that day. But you can read the full story here:

http://northshorejournal.org/heroes-cpl-abraham-mccarver

He has never voted. He, like many of us, has been disgusted by politics for years. "They're all the same", he says. Weeks ago, he started asking me about this guy I'm always talking about, Ron Paul. I didn't push him; I just told him to youtube him. He came back weeks later and asked me more- the hook was in. I told him why I have never voted either, and why I will vote for Ron Paul and only Ron Paul.

Today, my brother registered as a Republican in Colorado in order to vote for Ron Paul. Is it sad that I am more proud of him today than when he was awarded the Silver Star for Valor? I don't think so. His vote will save so many more lives than his hands did in 2004.

Thank You Cpl. McCarver !!

For the service that you gave for your country and for your fellow man!

I'm a Canadian and an old biker, at our yearly beef roast, we use to have some of our American Bothers come up for the party, I got to know the one guy pretty well (we'll call him Howie) we use to sit up to all hours of the night shooting the S.. (Howie did three tours in Vietnam Special Forces and for what ever reason he use to talk to me about it, where as he wouldn't or couldn't talk to anyone else about it, he just kept it all inside) anyway one night I asked him if he would teach me a couple of moves, you know self defense stuff (I figured if anyone would know how to protect ones self with their bare hands it would be Howie) he said "sure no problem bro" as we walked out behind the club house I turned around and put up my hands to defend my self in my first lesson in unarmed combat, Howie took one looked at me turned around and started to walk away, I called to him and asked what was going on? he turned and smiled as he said "that's the best thing I could ever teach you my friend, turn around and walk away, it's just not worth it" That stuck with me for the rest of my life! (and probably save it on many occasions, thanks Howie!)

To this day I will stand and fight if the occasion calls for it, but if I have the choice, I will turn and walk away, because you know, Howie was right, most times, it's just not worth it!

You Cpl. Abraham have so much you could share with others from your own personal experiences, that could not only change the lives of others, but could very well change the direction the world is heading in right now!

Sometimes my friend, you have to stand and fight!

Thanks for sharing this

with us and Good luck in his search for truth. Once a person finds their way to Dr. Paul there is no going back.

Thank you Sir.

Thank you for your service in defense of our country. Thank you for refusing to vote for people who do not represent you by upholding the Constitution. Please do not give up the fight against evil. Ron Paul stands as an example for others to follow. Ron Paul has given a battle plan and weapons of warfare that are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Now is the time to defend our Constitution against the domestic enemies that have done much damage to the integrity of our nation and the power and strength that can be restored in our nation.

Isn't it good to see an example of a warrior who stands above the filth of the world and says, "NO, even if I must stand alone, I say, "NO" when it is time to say "NO" and "YES" when it is time to say "YES". This is an example of courage under the fire of verbal assaults and the strength to endure until the end.

You sir, are a leader among men. You have fought on the field of military battle and are prepared to recognize the enemy. You too can fight this battle of words. This battle is every bit as dangerous and deadly as the battle fought with military might. But, this battle can be won and with the victory, there will be triumph. With this victory, there will be no sorrow at the end. Only the glory of knowing that you have fought the good fight and for the right reasons. Hurrah!

Going to Go Way out On a Limb Here

War is hell. The things one must do in a war are simply hell. Certain emotions/natural judgements must be circumvented and that comes with training - and basically - brainwashing.

Military and law enforcement take people who normally would never harm a soul and turn them into - something else. This is the reason we have so many committing suicide after they get back. I can't even fathom the evil that some may have done while "following orders" at the time... then later maybe finding out that by LAW (constitution) you're not supposed to follow those kinds of orders.

You can't shoot someone if they got their hands in the air. You must treat them with dignity if they are captured. Murder is murder. Self-defense is self-defense. The lines are blurred in war...

It's the foot soldiers on the ground. The cops. The tea party and Occupy movements. These are the flash points... and these are the only places where violence could erupt. I wish for the day when 2 of those 4 groups would learn that violence is not the answer. Ultimately the violence is not created by who gives the orders. With the voting fraud the way it's been it's obvious we've never even had control of who is in charge.

What if the next Occupy movement supplied tables, chairs, coffee and donuts? Perhaps we could get a dialog going with all these cops? Perhaps we can teach them that the law is actually on our side and we are behind them 100% if they decide to enforce the law? What if they just decide not to follow unlawful orders anymore?

Please tell your story...the world needs to hear

your voice and many more like it. You have credibility, sir, you have been there and done that - and how! Ron Paul has been there too, and knows the horrors of war. No other candidate can say that. And if you want to see what fellow veterans say, go to ronpaul2012.com and look at the videos. I cry every time because I wonder what memories they have and what they went through. Please lend your voice to this passionate, urgent cause and help us get Ron Paul elected. Thank you.

We need

Individuals with the integrity and honor your brother has exhibited to become more active in politics either by voting or preferably running for office. I'm sure your dad is proud of you both.

If not us than who?

The Real Deal

You Sir, are a true soldier and patriot. You joined the Marines to defend your country, not someone elses (or much worse, oil). You, young man, are the Real Deal. Just like Ron Paul! God bless you, and God bless the United States of America. Ron Paul is our last hope of restoring the republic.

Thank you

Your words and actions are showing America who really understands the effects of our foreign policy and those who are chickenhawks.

You and your brothers are

You and your brothers are true patriots.

Even though I don't support the action of the US government to attack Iraq I have the deepest respect for those willing to sacrifice their lives for what they believe to be right.

I also have a lot of respect for people who see what is wrong within their own systems and fight to correct those wrongs such as Ron Paul or any of his tireless supporters.

There are so many people who would have saved themselves first or even surrendered to the enemy if put in your brothers situation. Your brother fought back which takes huge mental effort. It's so much easier to just give up you life, give up your liberties and just go along with whatever "destiny" has in store for you. True patriots don't. It's just logic that he would become a Ron Paul supporter once exposed to those ideas.

No matter who is president, he has a job to do

First, I congratulate your parents. They have every reason to be proud of the fruit of their labors of love. God Bless them, and keep them healthy, and happy. They deserve all the good things.

Second, I extend these congratulations onto you. What a wonderful sibling you are, who also deserves to be proud, and rewarded, for the love of your family in words, and deeds. If every family, and every sibling, was so gracious as you, our world would indeed, be a much better place for all.

Third, My message to your brother:

I used to attend SOAR conventions with my uncle, Norman Doney (Silver star (4). Here's his bio http://www.projectdelta.net/bios/doney.htm

My Father was in the USN 36 years. I'm the only one who never joined the service. In all honesty I have always been anti-war, because my Father is a three war vet, he was never home when I was young, and when I became a teen, he was CO or XO of bases and he LOVED the military, more than he loved his family. I think of him, 5 AM in the mornings, after warm up exercizes preparing for his daily 6 mile run, going to the front porch of our residence and saluting the Marines jogging past in their red and gold. I asked him once, "Why are you saluting them?" He said to me, "Because the Marines are a division of the Navy, the cream of our crop from their enlistment, and deserve respect and honor from me for being here. I want them to KNOW, how much they mean to me."

I extend to you, this respect and gratitude.

Thankyou for your bravery & service

I was trying to think of something incredible to say to thank your brother as I was reading everyones responses. As I read thru them,I came to the conclusion that they all pretty much nailed it!So I would just like to add my own sincere THANKYOU!!!
And I want to share a conversation I had with my uncle who has a bit of an extreme opinion.I have been trying, for some time, to convert him to the RP freedom movement. He is of the opinion that the only thing that will cure the corruption is a march on wa.I have never wanted to agree with that or even go there. But in our last conversation,he said something to me that really made sense. If we fix this country thru elections(which I still feel is the way to do it),there will be another "obama" elected into office who will take our liberties away in the future. He said to me that we need to take our freedom back in a way that sends a message to the corrupt powers that be & show them that they f*cked with the wrong country,so they will be scared sh&tless to ever try again.
Now I still want to believe that we can be liberated thru a peaceful fair & honest vote. But the further we get into this process, the more the corrupt powers prove there will be nothing fair or honest about it.And should we manage to get Dr Paul elected(which I think we have a real shot at it),the "elites" will only begin plotting their plan for the next election. This is going to be a never ending fight to get the corrupt traitors out of our elected offices & keep them out.

I served in the US Army. And I also take my oath to country & constitution, very seriously. And I am afraid that any battles that any of us have seen around the world, will be trivial in comparison to what may be to come. Our current establishment of monkeys & puppets, has made it very clear that will stop at nothing to attain their goal.

So in closing,I want to say to your brother...Marine!You fought for your government. Now you are home. Will you join the fight for your family, your home,Your freedom & for the United States of America?!?!?!Ron Paul is the most honest & forthcoming politician I have ever even heard of.Even "honest Abe" was known for a few unethical comments.Dr Paul will go down in the history books as the most important President this country has EVER had!!We need brave marines like you on our side! Will you join the cause for freedom? The choice is yours.Whatever you choose, you have proven yourself braver than 90% of the people in this country!I salute you!!!

Ron Paul 2012!!!

Thanks,
grant

Thank you!

Thank you and your brother for your incredible military service and for your continued service to this country by supporting Dr. Paul. I am from Florida but we share the same last name so from one McCarver to another keep up the good fight, I have managed to convert over a dozen friends and neighbors much the same way just watch this video and let me know if you want to know more. The fight for peace and liberty continues.
Robert Ian McCarver

Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining!

Colorado, Wolverines!!!!, Great Story

best wishes going out to you and your family. Hopefully he joins DP and RPF!!!!!

Ron Paul 2016

Thank you

Tell your brother that I thank him for his service to our country. He is a genuine Hero. I appreciate his disgust with politics, but I am glad the good doctor is curing his apathy and he will vote for Ron Paul in Colorado.I know he cured mine!

If he chooses to make a statement or youtube video he would have a huge and positive impact on this campaign, effectively multiplying his support. However, he must make that decision for himself. I hope he decides to go forward. I can't wait to read or see it!

True to his oath

"...support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic..."

The Constitution has a lot of enemies in our own government these days. A vote for Dr. Paul is a good way to support and defend it! Your brother sounds like a very brave and intelligent person. I'm glad he's on our side.

Please tell your brother

Im very proud of him too. Thank him for me.
I pray he opens up, speaks out, makes a youtube video, shows up at different events, tries to get in the paper even if only by writing a letter.
He may not feel like standing up and out more than he already has. But he sounds like someone who keeps that oath he took deep in his heart..never forgetting he pledged his life for it.
He needs to alert the people. Tell the truth about what really goes on and why we shouldnt be there. Tell about the waste of money, and the waste of life..on both sides.
Hes a Marine. Im sure he'll do the right thing
And Im sure he will be blessed for it.

I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change

You are voting for my Dad!

My 86 year old father, WWII Vet., Purple Heart, Bronze Star recipient, father of six and husband for 63 years and proud patriot, died on January 6th, 2012 and was laid to rest at Fort Jackson Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
He was deprived of his vote in the South Carolina primary on January 21st, a duty he took with all seriousness, but you can vote for him in your state.
Man's inhumanity to man seems to know no bounds when corrupt and evil people sellout to "lower" powers. Your and my Dad's sacrifice(s) do not go unnoticed. He spoke very little of his war experience either. I narrowly missed being drafted for Vietnam myself in 1972. But I enlisted in June of 1976 in the battle for the home front, for liberty and the revival of our Constitution. My Dad raised another "veteran", me! Thirty-five years later, I am still in service to my country despite all the disappointments with many "traitors" our people have elected. But I will never give up until I too am laid to rest.
Our window of opportunity will stay open as long as we keep the "stick" in the window jam!
This "war" for the hearts and minds of our fellow citizens has raged for many decades but with the internet, we are making great strides. Please learn to use the tools we have in our arsenal. We can win! We MUST win!
I thank you and my Dad thanks you!

O U R P L A N = R O N P U A L (Coinsidence? I think not.)

Bless your heart

You made me cry. God Bless you and your family! I bet your Daddy was very proud of you with good reason. What a remarkable comment you've made here. How prodoundly generous and beautiful. THANK YOU, http://bible.oremus.org/?passage=Wisdom+3:1-9

Welcome to the fight to return to the Constitution and Liberty

For this is the real war and it is an intellectual revolution where minds will win over weapons.

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

Thanks for your service

This movement is for the people who are disgusted with politics today and the lack of choices we face because everyone is essentially the same candidate with a different face. There's something great about Republicans who can break the mold and talk about a different foreign policy, respect for the environment, and anti establishment support. There's also something great when a Marine wants to support Ron Paul, or as I like to call it Liberty. It means a lot and we would love to hear you speak on the subject Marine.

as a veteran of Fallujah

(shithole) myself, thank your brother for being a badass when it really counted.....in all regards though, I'd probably beat your ass too if you put this on daily paul!!

You can always tell those who earned what they got compared to punk bitches who talk about the "suck" they were in. It is pretty easy to differ from them both. I am so so so so happy that i have fellow veterans that feel as I do.

"I, John Michael Humphrey, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." (<---Believe it or not, I did NOT have to look that up. I bet a majority of veterans did not have to as well.)

thank you so much for sharing your story

I love the encouraging news

Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks so much for sharing. Your story moved me to tears as I think about my own brothers (and one in the military) and how much I wish I could convince them that Ron Paul is the only one to vote for.

The thing about voting for Ron Paul is that you aren't voting for a politician. You are voting for freedom. You are voting for a movement. I'll stand up any day for the sake of freedom! Even if I'm the only one standing, it's important to stand for what's right. But it sure does feel good to be standing with such fine individuals as all of you here on Daily Paul.

I just want to hug your brother!

And you. I'm glad your brother is ok, and you have each other. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story.

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign: that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. ~J. Swift

It is stories like this that give me hope for America.

Dictatorial administration has destroyed our country, and Dr. Paul is the only politician that wants to curtail authoritarianism.

Tell your brother he has earned our respect, with or without a video. What he has done for his country is amazing, but his vote puts it over the top

Please help spread the message of liberty

Please tell your brother that we are thankful for his service and please let him know that this country needs him now more than ever. I would love to see a youtube video. Maybe he can even join Ron Paul in one of his speeches, that would be awesome!

Wow!

What a brave and courageous young man! He represents some of the best qualities in men. I feel privileged to read his story.

Abraham, welcome to the family of Ron Paul supporters! We are glad to have you with us! I have a feeling this is only the beginning for you!

With deepest respect,

Thanks - and I'm sorry

Thanks - and I'm sorry Brother, for all that you endured over there in our names.

Having served 6 peacetime years in the National Guard (though I was eligible for Desert Storm from IRR), I dont know, but can appreciate as much as anyone, all of your sacrifices at WAR, both told and I'm sure mostly, untold. My sense of contrition comes from the fact that it is very possible you and your compadres did not have to fight for as long as you did, if at all.

But the same military industrial complex bastards and their minions in the media are at it again, this time trying to lie us onto yet another war, this one with Iran. A key part of their plan is to blackout, marginalize, and silence the ONLY candidate from EITHER party who opposes this war - Dr. Ron Paul.

I know you have given more than your lifetime's worth of national service; but if you still have that compulsion to aid mankind, a short video describing your story and your endorsement of the good doctor will go a LONG way toward foiling the plan those chicken hawk c---suckers are recycling from Iraq.

In any case, thank you again for all that you have done for me and my family and mayGod continue to bless you and yours.
