THIS is how to answer the 3rd Party question. RP Campaign PLEASE take note.

WHY when asked the 3rd party question over and over doesn't Dr. Paul say THIS to the debate moderators; "You never ask anyone ELSE the 3rd party question."

"Are you AFRAID I MIGHT ACTUALLY DO IT?"

"If so, WHY are you afraid?"

"Does it mean I have enough support to spoil the chances of any other candidate up here against Obama?"

"AND IF THAT'S THE CASE, WOULDN'T IT JUST BE SAFER TO NOMINATE ME NOW???"

"THAT WAY YOU COULD ENSURE THE SUPPORT OF ALL THE INDEPENDENT VOTERS WHO YOU'RE WORRIED WOULD SUPPORT ME, AND SWAY THE ELECTION FOR OBAMA IF I DO RUN 3RD PARTY."

BAM!!!

This response not only ends all such further questions or doubts, it might get him the nomination.

I have a better answer.

When pressed on the 3rd party question he should state something to the effect of:

"I bet alot of you people in the media would enjoy that very much as then you wouldn't have to work so hard to make certain the ideas of liberty of which I espouse are marginalized and watered down."

"But you know...as much as the political class and the pundits talk about spreading democracy and freedom abroad they really aren't so much committed to practicing it here at home. The two parties have colluded to create a commission on presidential debates which control who and by which criteria a candidate can participate." (Could even mention Gary Johnson in this regard, or attempts to squelch the internet and free speech)

"It is by design that our National political system is a two party system. And because of this, pursuing a 3rd party option even if I had any intention of doing so, is virtually an impossible feat."

He flirts with the question

He flirts with the question way too much - that is certain.

He doesn't flirt with the question

He answers the question every time, and every time the same way. He answers it succinctly.

Just get used to the fact that these questions pop up sometimes, they are annoying but that's the way the game is played.

Paul is doing a very good job answering the question the way he's answering it.

yes... yes... yes...

... better nominate me... my support base is too large to dismiss...

Thanky you Sleuth. You understand it. That is my POINT!

"NOMINATE ME and I'll BRING ALL THESE OTHER VOTES ALONG!!!"

This answer seems SO SIMPLE and SO OBVIOUS, yet I've never heard him say it.

Then he coud end it with "Believe me, if I DIDN'T have the power to affect the outcome, YOU WOULDN'T KEEP ASKING ME THIS QUESTION."

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Third Party

Seems to me that Ron Paul answers the third party queston directly when asked. His answer is respectful and direct and accurate. He cast no aspersions to the questioner, nor accusation. While the political nature of the question (and many others directed at him) is quite obvious to Paul supporters (and others, one would hope), he stays on target and is respectful in his discourse. The people will ultimately have to see for themselves and decide, without manipulation and compulsion, that this is a man of integrity. Manipulation, compulsion, and political-speak are the domain of the untrustworthy. The heart of the discourse is what must win people over. It's best for the long haul and true conversion and sustainable results will be the ends.

StretchMac

Throw it to MIttens and the Big Fig Newton.

If Mitt and Newt cannot rally the support behind them to keep me from being the nominee, will they run third party?

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

POLITICS OF FEAR

--- If I were Dr. Paul, I would say something along the lines of...

"The Media keeps asking this question, 50 times or more this election cycle. They expect me to change my position. I will not. I won't have to run 3rd party, because I will be the GOP nominee, if the media stops using this topic as a diversion. The VAST majority of American People agree with my positions. Because of deception of the media, the people do not know that they can finally vote for someone that would restrain the Federal Government to its Constitutional Role."

"Questions about the direction of the country are not directed toward me, in order for me to be asked if I would support the Big Spending GOP candidates if they were the nominee. Every one of them at one point or another have threatened to support Barack Obama instead of my campaign if I am the nominee. TRANSLATION: They Agree With Barack Obama More Than The Only Constitutionalist Running."

There's an old adage:
'Nice Guys Finish Last'

Take the gloves off, Dr. Paul.
You are the superior candidate in 2012.
Begin to behave like the leader we all know you are.
I beg you.
Reagan campaigned FOR YOU.
He didn't put up with this BullSh!t.

Or he could say...

"Well, if you debate moderators and reporters keep asking me this same DUMB-ASS question over and over, and never ask me about my plan to cut a trillion bucks off the budget in the first year, balance the budget in the third year, redeploy our troops back here to the US, audit and end the Fed, introduce sound money to compete with the dollar, and restore our personal liberties, well, maybe I'll be FORCED to go third party.

I will make the announcement here if you think that will help your ratings."

While there is considerable doubt over whether Iran has a bomb and whether they might decide to "go nuclear", RP should NEVER leave any doubt that HE HAS A BOMB and WILL USE IT.

It could work

I agree that the moderators will continue to ask this question and cling to it to attempt to create doubt in Ron Paul's commitment to the party. A message like this could work or something similar, the campaign needs to convey something different to stop this pestering

Interesting

I'm no political scientist, but it would get my attention.

Yes

I love it. The only problem is that answer is too logical and will probably go over the media's heads.

A very simply reply.

Moderator: Will you run as a third party?
Dr. Paul: That's an interesting question, thanks for asking for the 50th time now. I am in this to win, not to place or show. I hope that clears it up better since no one in the media seems to be listening, because they are too preoccupied with informing the American people I am un-electable. Speaking of the media, thank god SOPA will hopefully be squashed so people can still get the real news on the internet as opposed to media biased cable channels. Perhaps you might want to ask one of the other candidates the same question about a third party run, at least it would then not seem so biased a question, only being posed to me.

This statement ends being asked yet again this stupid third party question, it also lets the world know about the media bias, it lets people know he is electable and this is not a movement, it’s a campaign for the President of the United States.
