Crash & Burn?

I for one, was expecting 3rd, and did not predict losing to someone that seems indifferent about running (Thompson). But I do have the proper perspective at this point.

Here's a new cartoon on my feelings of last night's Iowa Caucus results.

Good drawing

How about you draw one with Uncle Sam wearing a black gitmo hood with handcuffs and his legs chained together. (of course since he is wearing the hood the only way we will know its Uncle Sam is the stars and stripes suit)

He could be holding a sign that say "I should have voted for Ron Paul"

I suppose you could do the same thing with Lady Liberty

but you probably don't take requests

I agree with Ed...

The blimp looks like it is dumping its toilet on Iowa.

Come on people!

Ron Paul has a 1000 pound weight (msm neglect) around his ankle and still does well.

Come on, they called him a flake, a kook, not viable, 1% in the polls. He scored is in a state the is full of Evangelical, Rush Limbaugh lovers. I personally knew all along the Huckster would win. All you have to do is pander to the Religious Right in Iowa. That is all.

I know that there is disappointment but look at what we know..

What did Iowa Republican voters say?

1. They do not like Mormons
2. They trust TV and movie stars (Fred)
3. They trust an old war hero that they have seen on TV a bazillion times.
4. They don't like gays (Rudy)

Look, who ever thought that getting People to embrace Ron Paul would be easy should just leave this movement and get Behind Huck or Obama now.

The smart ones in us know that just won't do.

It is going to take allot of work to educate the American People that just want someone to make them feel good or give them something for nothing.

That's the bottom line.

We should not give up, in fact we need to try harder and reach out more. If Ron Paul doesn't get elected, then we will be ready for the inevitable financial collapse of this country. And while the brain dead people are trying to figure what happened...we can take the country back right under their noses.

unreasonableman

Here's the problem. This

Here's the problem. This polticking is like a horse race. The American people, for better or worse, latch on to winners. Ron Paul can finish admirably in several of these early states, but unless he starts really SURPRISING THE HELL out of everyone, it will end up as a footnote. Sure, it's really great to go to 10%, but where was the big 3rd place finish? 3rd in NH will just show he has "some support out there." He's a longshot anyways, and I think it's totally fair for people to be disappointed. These people are expecting what needs to be expected. That sometime soon, the tables will switch. The groundswell that everyone is talking about will SHOW UP. It didn't in Iowa. It better start. That said, I will continue my support and do what I can. I don't think these bummed out people are trolls...

Under 1% in July to 10% in January

Complete with media blackout.

Have a nice day.

Unify

dude, keep it to yourself.

If you guys want to go home that's fine, but don't bring me down.
I think we did fine last night and came very close to winning 3rd.
There is a lot of more work to be done.

Yeah, agreed

I'm not a goddam troll, and I really dislike the troll witchhunt around here.

But if we were going to win this thing, it would have to have been a 3rd place finish behind huckabee and romney in IA, and a second place finish behind Romney in NH. We go on from there to compete heavily in NV and SC, and if Paul is still heavy in the running there, then good things happen.

But that's not what happened. It was close. We were only 4 points behind where we needed to be. Perhaps more canvassing by us, or more money earlier, or a more eloquent candidate would have turned the tide. But this wasn't it, and can't be. Finishing 3rd in NH won't be enough to propel forward, and there's really no better place to have tried than NH. Sorry folks, in my opinion, its just denouement from here on out.

Now is not the time to conceed defeat.

With all due respect, suck it up and be part of the solution.

The best fights I've ever had went the distance. They weren't the ones that were decided in the first round or the first period. If you want to train to win in 2:00, you go for it. I'll train to win by the end.

Dr. Paul's showing in IA was dissapointing for me to. We got 1 less delegate than if we had come in 3rd. And the fight has just begun.

AGREED!

whole-heartedly. People need to stop crying because their youtube video didn't change the world in IOWA and get off their asses and actually do something.

some thoughts

I'll take your comments at face value - no problem

Perhaps It may have been better to show a little air leaking out of the blimp, instead of it blowing up.

Also, its always been a longshot to win - whats new about that. Yesterday only means we have to work harder.

You Obviously have good talent - hope you put it to use to get RP elected. If we fail - we fail knowing we did our best.

Cheers

So...

So I shouldn't express my opinion about Ron Paul supporters across the net today needlessly over-reacting?

For those that missed it, the blimp burning is a led zeppelin reference... so "a little air leak" doesn't really work. Especially with all the bad attitudes that this metaphor is representing.

anyone remember where howard

anyone remember where howard dean finished in Iowa? what about Ronald Reagan or even Bill Clinton.... this is a marathon.. not a sprint!

“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.” (Prov. 22:3; 27:12 KJV)

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

Dude..

I'm not a troll by any means... I am all for RP and believe he did very well and will do even better in NH. The cartoon is just portraying the reason for all the unjustified depression today.

A lot of RP supprters are acting like the sky is falling. Just a commentary - I'm not implying the campaign is crashing & burning... just that the unreasonable expectations of all the doom-sayers today is absolutely ridiculous.

troll

troll for sure

troll

troll for fish!!!

Fred Thompson Vote

Was cast out of pure ignorance.

These people obviously had not been paying attention to any aspect of the last 6 months of campaigning.

These folks proved to me how ignorant the Iowa caucus goers really were.

Shameful.

My feelings

My feelings exactly.

Not too funny

Well, yes, we were all hoping for 3rd. However, Ron Paul is not a movie star and hasn't been in the limelight forever like McCain. People vote because they recognize Fred Thompson from Law and Order. Hey, I love the show and his character seems like a very rational and honest guy. So, isn't that a reason to vote for him, LOL?

No...

Not supposed to be funny.

It's Sad.... Sad how RP supporters are so easily beaten down because he didn't come in 1st in Iowa. These are the same Paulites that over-hyped his predicted outcome in the first place.

Revolutions don't happen over night people. KEEP/START WORKING!!!

so true

As a transplanted yank i cant say enough about the ignorance of Americans. I cant beleive Huck got the nod in Iowa because he's basically seen as a man of god. He's GW lite...mark my words. The country would go into worse bankruptcy under his watch.

Huckabee in Iowa

...was the perfect example of how easily religion hypnotizes & manipulates people in this country. So dangerous to choose superstition over facts.

Superstition isn't it

Many evangelical and other Christians vote not because of superstition but because of implied character strengths. When someone claims they are a Christian they are saying they follow all of the teachings of Jesus which means they are honest, decent, faithful, etc., etc. They will act according to Christ's teachings and will make laws based on that.
So, this is why they voted for Huckabee; not just because of some superstitious reason. We have had too many problems with candidates who have no character and are complete sleaze balls. If they believe Huckabee is the Christian candidate, then we need to get them to realize Ron Paul is the "real thing." He can be trusted. That is what needs to be promoted.
