Moneybomb for a Debate Coach for Ron!

I agree with the top post at the moment about how Ron needs to do better explaining the reasons behind his principles.

Some say, "thats the beauty of Ron, he doesn't change"

well he better because this country doesn't have another 4 years left to figure out what "liberty" or "liquidate the debt" or "militarism" means.

That is why the media is kicking our butt, he hasn't translated this into everyday people terms.

I suggest we make a site, have a donation pledge, and give to Paul to hire the best debate coach.

At the very least he can take the money we put together and give it to Doug Wead to take a few hours, synthesize the ideas in to layman's terms.

If we don't do something akin to this, we fracture the support (more threads like these), we demoralize the following, and the campaign loses votes that our hard earned money could've gotten.

BUMP so this rides up with the likes of the Ron I implore you thread http://www.dailypaul.com/207872/memo-to-ron-paul-campaign-i-...

Something tells me he won't

Something tells me he won't listen

He actually has great debate coaches...

...Bruce Fein and Doug Wead being two of the best in the business. The issue isn't coaching, it's that Ron has used a professorial approach to combating his adversaries for so many years that he's not accustomed to playing the propaganda game, and that's probably for ethical reasons (golden rule?). Debate is like a sport in that respect, the more practice the better you get at it. Therefore, it's true that he has relatively poor instincts for countering propaganda and misinformation with witty, on-the-spot comebacks. It's just not his style, though we all probably crave for him to give the other candidates, and the media, some of their own medicine.

Someone posted a wonderful thread on "surrogate speakers" where the point was made that other high-profile supporters who have sharp wit and a thorough grasp of the ideas we all represent, such as Tom Davis, Doug Wead, and Judge Nap, are well suited to filling in the debate and media gaps you are concerned with...and I believe that it is working.

Recall that Thomas Jefferson was deemed by many of his contemporaries to be a very poor orator...he was elected for his writings and his beliefs.

Anyway, those are my thoughts...

We also need TV spots - it

We also need TV spots - it appears that people in New Hamphire and South Carolina didn't see any ads from the campaign. I bet you could win an election without debating based on TV ads.

Personally I feel this is a moot point because

*you're asking him to be something he's not: an Orator. And for what? Besides, he's more than aware of his oratorical shortcommings. I think we're going to see an improvement in that area. Why? Because he said he's working on it. (I yelled at him last night a couple of times: SLOW DOWN!)

*Doug Wead and Gary North [to name a few] have offered their help and he's turned them down. And they both admit it was for the best; they were wrong. Sometimes tho, after thinking about it, he's accepted advice.

* Your coaching suggestion was tried on Reagan, relatively the same age as Paul, and it wrecked him. They finally threw their hands up and told him: Forget It! Do It Your Way. The rest is history.

*Just try to be patient with Dr. Paul. He knows what he's got to do but it's got to be on his terms and timetable.

Ron has 2 great people for

Ron has 2 great people for that Doug wead and Tom woods he just seems to refuse to use them, that just isn't Ron's style, he says what he means in his own way.

I too wish he would better articulate his answers but everyone is just going to have to deal with Ron the way he is.

THIS IS CRITICAL

I AM NOT SURE WE HAVE 4 MORE YEARS. SEEMS TO ME ITS NOW OR NEVER.

WE JUST NEED THE GOOD DOCTOR TO SPEAK FROM HIS GUT.

MAYBE ITS TIME TO GET MAD AS HELL AND TELL THEM WE ARE TAKING IT ANYMORE.

DR PAUL REMINDS ME OF MOSES, HE HAD PROBLEMS SPEAKING, BUT GOD CHOSE HIM, BUT HE ALSO GAVE HIM AARON AS HIS MOUTH PIECE.

IS THIS LEGAL, JUST A THOUGHT.

CAN WE HAVE AN AARON TO STEP IN DO THE DEBATES FOR DR PAUL.

Great idea

announce your vp candidate now. make sure he's a great speaker for Ron's ideas and he could do a lot of the talking the way Palin did for McCain. She was the personality behind that campaign.

I know it's harder than it looks

But I feel like these questions in these debates and interviews are so predictable it's a joke. They only ask him 4 or 5 different questions, and I wish he had answers ready, so when they ask the obligatory 3rd party question he could absolutely tee off on it. Doug Wead is great at that. I wish they had a couple pre-packaged answers for these stupid pre-packaged questions, and if it actually came to a real question just let Ron freestyle. Perhaps we could have a money bomb to shrink Doug Wead so he could fit in Ron's pocket?

insulting.

These are not debates

I hope everyone on this site realizes the MSM version of debate is nothing but a sham these are not debates.
Each debate should have one or maybe 2 topics at best like a CNN debate could focus on the Economy only a ABC debate focus on Foreign Policy now these would be debates.

Smearbates

smearviews and smearpoints from the SSM.

Russia and China and Iran the next time
