Obama doubles down on Anti-Liberty Insanity: Students should be FORCED to stay in school.
Obama doubled-down on his big government madness last night, proposing new distortions of the free market to fix apparently all problems through government punishment and tax penalties, a new government agency (to make sure China isn't "cheating" in free-trade) and making other purely disturbing self-contradictions, like proclaiming that he refuses to go back to the policies "that caused this situation" then minutes later proclaiming that he will support legislation to make financing homes "historically" cheap.
But what took the cake for me, the most blatant and frightening moment of all, was when he said, perfectly seriously...that he wants ALL states to FORBID students from leaving school before age 18.

I can't believe what I'm hearing. Insanity breeds more insanity.

I just posted this on YouTube!
About died laughing toward the end! Go to about 1:30 and watch Boehner's expression when obama starts talking about students being forced to stay in school. Prior to this coming up, he's kind of just looking around the room. Then, this really gets his attention!
Is obama going to to somehow mandate this? I can see Boehner thinking, "Now, just how does he propose to do this?"
But then, obama does consider himself a god of sorts...
One solution: Ron Paul 2012!!!
Every homeschooled person I have ever met...
is twice as smart as their 'public education' counterpart. I suppose Obama wants to force all children into those 'educational Fema camps' for the duration of their childhood.
Take the red pill.
Another person had something to say about education...
... and there are definitely some similarities between the two.
Marx, Karl. The Communist Manifesto. 1848.
Ugggg
how does one even think this way? It seriously boggles the mind.

Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt
http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com/
Charlotte Iserbyt is to be greatly commended for having put together the most formidable and practical compilation of documentation describing the “deliberate dumbing down” of American children by their education system. Anyone interested in the truth will be shocked by the way American social engineers have systematically gone about destroying the intellect of millions of American children for the purpose of leading the American people into a socialist world government controlled by behavioral and social scientists.
Mrs. Iserbyt has also documented the gradual transformation of our once academically successful education system into one devoted to training children to become compliant human resources to be used by government and industry for their own purposes. This is how fascist-socialist societies train their children to become servants of their government masters. The successful implementation of this new philosophy of education will spell the end of the American dream of individual freedom and opportunity. The government will plan your life for you, and unless you comply with government restrictions and regulations your ability to pursue a career of your own choice will be severely limited.
What is so mind boggling is that all of this is being financed by the American people themselves through their own taxes. In other words, the American people are underwriting the destruction of their own freedom and way of life by lavishly financing through federal grants the very social scientists who are undermining our national sovereignty and preparing our children to become the dumbed-down vassals of the new world order. It reminds one of how the Nazis charged their victims train fare to their own doom.
One of the interesting insights revealed by these documents is how the social engineers use a deliberately created education “crisis” to move their agenda forward by offering radical reforms that are sold to the public as fixing the crisis—which they never do. The new reforms simply set the stage for the next crisis, which provides the pretext for the next move forward. This is the dialectical process at work, a process our behavioral engineers have learned to use very effectively. Its success depends on the ability of the “change agents” to continually deceive the public which tends to believe anything the experts tell them.

Isabel Paterson on education
Selected excerpts from Isabel Paterson's The God of the Machine, published in 1943 and still worth reading today.
"A tax-supported, compulsory educational system is the complete model of the totalitarian state."
"There can be no greater stretch of arbitrary power than is required to seize children from their parents, teach them whatever the authorities decree they shall be taught, and expropriate from the parents the funds to pay for the procedure."
"The Germans are notably literate; and they had very fine technical schools. Their literacy enabled them to read 'Mein Kampf,' and their technology enabled them to build up a war machine which must destroy them. That is what education under the political power must do, once it obtained full control. It routes human energy into the dead-end political channels.
"The most vindictive resentment may be expected from the pedagogic profession for any suggestion that they should be dislodged from their dictatorial position; it will be expressed mainly in epithets, such as 'reactionary,' at the mildest. Nevertheless, the question to put to any teacher moved to such indignation, is: Do you think nobody would willingly entrust his children to you to pay you for teaching them? Why do you have to extort your fees and collect your pupils by compulsion?"
problem with current education system...

Not only is this stupid.
It is completly unconstitutional, heck even if a state tried to pass such a law I think it would also be unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment.
It is an enormous simplification to speak of the American mind. Every American has his own mind.

schooling should not be
schooling should not be compulsory period. education is beyond schooling institutions. it's annoying to kids and parents alike, and especially educated ones. the incentive for an individual to grow knowledgeable in the area they desire is totally destroyed by compulsory schooling.
I was
even saying that back when I was in school, I was told they wanted me to be well rounded and even back then I thought to myself well rounded meant dull.

i teach in the inner cities,
i teach in the inner cities, one of the worst cities in nj...alot of these kids DO NOTHING BUT CAUSE DISRUPTIONS IN CLASS...education should NEVER BE FORCED..it is like war, it will not change anything....btw the public schools are a mess, i teach in them and the dept of ed and state are NUTS...they worry about the wrong things and blame the teachers for everything--its the family unit stupid!
Same down here in Texas.
Same down here in Texas.
Tyranny
I am a teacher at a collegiate institution but agree with the position that no bureaucrat has authority over a parent to force a minor individual to stay within an educational system.
Otherwise, the inconsistency between 'a (student) dreaming beyond his circumstance' or 'granting schools the flexibility to be creative with passion' while conversely imposing 'the status quo' of mandated enrollment makes this political speech a failure
Influence
If they are not in school (Home Education) they can not control and influence your children.

It was brutal watching this
It was brutal watching this circus. This event—an event that is not authorized by the constitution—has turned from a simple relaying of messages to congress from the president into the speech from the throne. If you missed the whole thing, don’t worry; I could sum it up with a quote from Thomas Babington Macaulay, in his devastating critique of Robert Southey.
malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium
DIfference between forced child labor
and mandatory school? Very little.
Yep, how can people not see that Newt is a Progressive?
He would do very well expanding government further than perhaps even Obama would dare to dream.
Flawless logic

Heh. No I won't.
They
think this way on every subject unless it involves intervening with what they are doing.

.... . . they don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that . . . that doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests. That’s right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table and think about how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fuckin' years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers . . . Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork. And just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your fuckin' retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it . . . they’ll get it all from you sooner or later cause they own this fuckin' place. It’s a big club and you ain't in it.

I would like to share a story with you about just 1 thing that
happened in school that took my family 6 months to get over.
My son was in school and this girl took of her shirt and showed some students her breasts. The teacher seen this and stopped it, but my son thought it was funny and laughed about it. The teacher asked him if he thought it was funny and my son said it was awesome as many children that age would. Well we were called to school and told my son might be a sexual deviant. Oh my God, it took us 6 months of counseling and testing to get this cleared up. Can you imagine having your son labeled as a sexual deviant by the system for something like this? I am still outraged that we had to go through this many years later. It also has damaged my son as he is afraid of women now for what he had to go through because the school told him he was a sexual deviant for looking at a woman.
I do not wish the school system on anyone, you should see what happens now when they have terror drills and load the children on buses and take them out of town where a terrorist could get to them easily. You have no control over your children once they enter those doors.
I could go on and on....
God help the children.
what?
and the girl that took off her shirt?
or did the teacher tell her to?
Like pimp and....
When I went to school (70s&80s) the girl would have got the trouble.
And the teacher, if he asked her to do that, also.
And all the boys would have have laughed.
even as they
... teach your kids how to give blow jobs, how to experiment with lesbian or gay lifestyles, how to put on a rubber so you can have sex in fifth grade, how to be "politically correct" in every single way the government says to be ...
Like some cruel joke they then jump all over any boy with even the slightest hint of male hormones in his body ( and the eugenicists are working feverishly to wipe those hormones out via endocrine-disruptors ). This is a war on men, plain and simple. Men and especially moral decent fathers ... are the enemies of the New World Order.

Without father figures in the home...
..broken families must rely on the government more and more. I think maybe all these wars are designed to kill off the men too, especially the ones that still have a patriotic bone left in their body!
I completely agree
Watch the commercials on TV, the sitcoms where the father (if there is one) is an incompetent boob suffered by a wise and mature wife. Or the hardware store commercials with the all knowing female salesperson schools the stupid clueless white guy.
Schools are especially bad for boys. If I had a son I'd get him out yesterday.
Actually wouldn't the girl who took off her shirt have been a sexual exhibitionist (the deviant)?? Up is down, down is up.
There is no truth.
