These HS drop-outs would have never accomplished what they did had they been compelled to finish High School. This is a big list, but take a minute to look down it. These people re-made the world.

Frank Lloyd Wright, the most influential architect of the twentieth century. Never completed high school.

Frederick Henry Royce, auto designer, multimillionaire co-founder of Rolls-Royce. Dropped out of elementary school.

About died laughing toward the end! Go to about 1:30 and watch Boehner's expression when obama starts talking about students being forced to stay in school. Prior to this coming up, he's kind of just looking around the room. Then, this really gets his attention!

Is obama going to to somehow mandate this? I can see Boehner thinking, "Now, just how does he propose to do this?"

But then, obama does consider himself a god of sorts...

Anyone interested in the truth will be shocked by the way American social engineers have systematically gone about destroying the intellect of millions of American children for the purpose of leading the American people into a socialist world government controlled by behavioral and social scientists.

Mrs. Iserbyt has also documented the gradual transformation of our once academically successful education system into one devoted to training children to become compliant human resources to be used by government and industry for their own purposes. This is how fascist-socialist societies train their children to become servants of their government masters. What is so mind boggling is that all of this is being financed by the American people themselves through their own taxes. In other words, the American people are underwriting the destruction of their own freedom and way of life by lavishly financing through federal grants the very social scientists who are undermining our national sovereignty and preparing our children to become the dumbed-down vassals of the new world order. It reminds one of how the Nazis charged their victims train fare to their own doom.

It is completly unconstitutional, heck even if a state tried to pass such a law I think it would also be unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment.

I am a teacher at a collegiate institution but agree with the position that no bureaucrat has authority over a parent to force a minor individual to stay within an educational system.

Otherwise, the inconsistency between 'a (student) dreaming beyond his circumstance' or 'granting schools the flexibility to be creative with passion' while conversely imposing 'the status quo' of mandated enrollment makes this political speech a failure

If they are not in school (Home Education) they can not control and influence your children.

If the government has taught us anything over the years, it's that using force always makes things better.

It was brutal watching this circus. This event—an event that is not authorized by the constitution—has turned from a simple relaying of messages to congress from the president into the speech from the throne.
