A true victory to Ron Paul

Don't let anyone tell you differently. You really need to watch the entire debate in order to understand. The first thing I noticed was that Dr Paul took a deep breath at the beginning of the debate while all of the candidates were standing in front of the podiums. That was when I knew he was ready. His answers were short, intelligent, logical, to the point, informational and his satire was amazing. He seemed extremely confident and at ease.

I think his honest satire let the audience know that he was a leader and wanted to address the real problems facing our country instead of the bickering back and forth between the other candidates and their ridiculous ideas about how to waste our money. Some of his comments reminded me of how Jon Stewart uses his satire to help people understand that the other candidates were morons. Dr Paul was almost like the Professor turning to students and saying to them like "Have you learned nothing? What in the world are you talking about? Go back and study before you speak again!" LOL The others went on and on repeating the same old rhetoric that they have in every debate...no substance and nothing to tell the audience on how they can solve the problems we face today. The others talked like politicians, Ron Paul spoke like a leader.

I called a friend this morning that I had asked to watch the debate with an open mind. I asked her what information she obtained from each candidate and she said that Santorium seemed angry at everyone and postures alot about sanctions and war but she didn't know why he was so bitter and that Romney and Newt just argued most of the time over who was more corrupt. She told me that those three frightened her a little and that Ron Paul was the only adult in the room. She is very interested in finding out more about him. I am so proud of Dr Paul...he came through for Americans and it will be interesting to see if the voters in Florida want to take their country back or not. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

BTW, I look under my bed every morning now, you never know who might be hiding under it LOL

Hahaha at the 16:00 mark Ron

Hahaha at the 16:00 mark Ron Paul listens carefully when Newt talks about him thinking he's going to criticize him...then Newt ends up complimenting him...the look on Ron's face is priceless.

Exciting!

I haven't had a chance to watch the highlights of last night's debate yet, but I'm very excited by what I've read here. It's strange - but every time I watch Ron Paul I get this impatient feeling that makes me want to scream, "Don't you people GET it?!" I mean, how can Americans watch these debates and not see through the other candidates? How can they actually feel good about supporting anyone other than Ron Paul? ...But then I incriminate myself because that's where I was four years ago.

How does everyone else keep from wanting to jump all over people? I feel such an urgency to get this message out, but I suppose I just need to learn diplomacy.

When the American spirit was in its youth, the language of America was different: Liberty, sir, was the primary object. - Patrick Henry

Be patient...remember the movie "Field of Dreams"?

If you build it they will come. Well, for RP it's if you speak it, they will listen. Some people are just a little more reticent, some will never come around. Just speak your truth, plant the seeds of the Liberty message, and then let it happen. Have faith - after all, WE did! And there are millions of us who did too!

Good advice

That's good advice...Thanks!

Pauls debate skills are getting better

He is articulating his message better, less rambling. Particularly on foriegn policy. He can put in some humor "it's illegal to discriminate on age" and get a laugh. I feel he won that debate and increased his appeal (vote base). That is the objective of his appearance.

It also reminds us how wrong the status quo is, and that the big government machine is our biggest threat not 'jihads' under the bed.

His research too is flawless, nailed Newt on the Social security and budget mess.

Nice performance, keep up the good work Dr. Paul.

"This isn't what the govern meant"

"Win the crowd and you will win your freedom"

Go Dr. PAUL!!!!!! TO ALL THE HATERS!

Here is some more $$$, wish I could donate more maybe next week!

Thank you!

Thank you for your generous donation!

Same criminals Same method of operation

first they rigg the polls to make RP appear to have little support, then they rig the election to make him come in last. Then they black him out of media on the basis that he is in last place with little support. While millions of people and millions of dollars and countless hours were spent by the people to have Ron Paul as president. In spite of these evil criminal tactiics the message has been passed along to millions and it has reached a critical mass, soon we will rid this nation of the usurper federal reserve bank corporation and I do hope this time we can institute provisions to protect future generations from yet another repeat.

Ron Paul won that debate

Santorum expanded his base, Gingrich lost Tea Partiers to Ron Paul because he was stuck holding the hot potato for too long, Romney tried to make himself look smart again.

Ron Paul is the obvious choice for anybody but the media...

walked into the office this morning

and my manager asked if I watched the debate and said "your guy was really funny! Didn't know he was that old but he seems to be in good shape"

wondering if he actually thought that or was just parroting the post-debate comments... but I'll take it!

"If you see a man approaching you with the obvious intent of doing you good, run for your life" - Thoreau

In my mind, Ron Paul won Florida with this debate

His response to the "age" question.

Oh yeah. Every senior citizen retired in Florida ought to love his challenge to the rest of the candidates for a 25 mile bike race in the hot Texas sun. And bearding Wolf for bringing up age discrimination!

Side note: I think Newt looked nervous at the thought of having to make good on Ron Paul's challenge! I'd pay money to see Newt's face turn red as he huffs and puffs!

Cuba.
The Cuban community should rally around him. They want to visit Cuba again. They want to see their relatives there. They know like Ron Paul does that restarting US trade of goods will win over the people and the Cuban government. Just like it did with the USSR and China. Trade makes friends of enemies where war and sanctions creates them.

His 54 year marriage to his wife Carol.
Long lasting fidelity like this speaks volumes. The cook book was the piece de resistance!

I wonder if the next round of polling

will show a boost for Ron Paul from these debates.

Notice how Santorum always contrasts himself with the"other two

on stage?" He deliberately says that.

That's because

most of the time, he's talking about how "the other two" supported this or that horrible program or idea. Since Ron Paul has a perfect Constitutional voting record, Santorum can't group him with the others. Santorum himself has to watch out for a rebuke from Ron Paul, having voted for Medicare Part D, No Child Left Behind and multiple debt-ceiling increases, and also having voiced support for a health insurance mandate (why did no one call out Santorum for that when he attacked Romney and Gingrich for doing the same thing?).

Missed opportunity !!

When they asked him about how his Christian faith would affect his decisions in the oval office I was really hoping he would say something like:
"Well, you know, I was actually booed for saying this in one of the recent debates, but you know my Christian faith teaches me of this golden rule principle which says to treat others the way you want to be treated , and that's how I would approach relationships with other nations."

:(

Not in the highlight reel

Why was that question and I believe a few others not in the video above?

Great debate last night! Def

Great debate last night! Def one of his best. It seems his strategy going in was to win the audience over with humor before each remark to appear lovable and capture attention. Very smart! At times he spoke a tad to fast but its funny how everything comes back to monetary policy isnt it? Newt was trying to play to the Ron Paul crowd every chance he got. That guy can't be trusted. Romney appears at times to admire Dr. Paul every time Paul speaks. I think at this point they all believe Paul has no shot so they'll attempt to steal RP supporters any chance they get. RP mightve picked up a few more votes with performance. Great job!

You've noticed that, too?

I've also been thinking for awhile that Romney DOES admire Ron Paul!

When the American spirit was in its youth, the language of America was different: Liberty, sir, was the primary object. - Patrick Henry

RP is Campaigning from the mid too early--what is he thinking?

Let's be friends with Cuba and embrace immigrants is NOT how you win the right.

RP's just saying whatever he feels like on stage now. I don't expect RP to win or be a jerk but come on.

He should have a foreign policy plan that articulates more than "let's be friends" and follow a "Golden Rule" by now.

Everyone knows Paul wants to cut spending--nobody knows what Paul wants to spend money on.

And him just being cute and saying, "I don't think the gov should spend anything at all..." and then going to "Well, like sure you need security and programs that people rely upon."

What does that mean?

And, "hispanics can give me ideas about how to be a non-interventionist"?

If you don't want to pander to hispanics just freaking say it Paul!

"I don't pander to hispanics, I respect the individual. Let's focus on the issues instead of getting bogged down in tribal divisions."

Ah well, can't blame him or anything. Just wish he did some reasonable prep before going before millions. Most people in the freedom movement will never get that opportunity no matter how hard they work.

oh yeah, he has been

oh yeah, he has been mentionting the Cuba thing for over 4 years now...this is not too early;)

truth is treason

trust me, people love a person that speaks the Truth. There are ton of Cubans, Columbians, Brazillians, ect...who are all Republican and understand first hand what it means for America to "back" a certain dictator and not "trade" with others. Plus the Florida natives understand this as well, they are tired of immigrants coming here illegally, meanwhile we are focused on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan;)

truth is treason

A lot of US Cubans are ultra-right wing/anti-Castro

They were used as fodder during the Bay of Pigs and they don't regret it. In fact, they hate Kennedy for not having the balls to launch a full scale invasion.

Also, look up the Omega US/Cuban Terrorist group involved with a string of bombing in America.

Anyways, you CAN visit Cuba already. My uncle goes there all the time. I have other friends who have been there for vacation.

My point is marketing the message. Aka Nixon's 'victory with dignity' over Vietnam that he did well in marketing during the election.

Most right wing people don't want to befriend Communists or Islamic regimes. RP probably doesn't really want to be personal friends with these killers and dictators either.

The problem is he is speaking figuratively towards befriending a COUNTRY which is not what most people understand. People look at the figure head.

They look at Ahmadinejad and the Iranian hostage situation.

They look at Chavez, Gaddafi or Hitler ranting in a foreign language.

Rand knows exactly what I'm talking about. There is no way Rand would have got up there and started talking about a 'Golden Rule'. I wish Ron would bring Rand in for some advice on these matters.

I'm not saying Rand is better than Ron--I see the reverse actually. But Ron needs some help articulating his message to the right.

And no, I don't care how fast he talks or what suits he wears or whether he wins what poll or election. I'm looking at this as a purely educational experience.

Paul also had a good night, repeatedly prompting laughter and applause with self-deprecating one-liners and clear messaging about his libertarian policies that excite young supporters.

Slap in the face

I am disappointed at Drudge picking that CNN article, out of all the articles that he could have chosen, to describe the debate and Ron Paul's performance. The intent of the article was to totally degrade Dr Paul and even goes as far as saying that Dr Paul knows he won't win. BTY I knew what this word meant as soon as I saw it and that description is a lie and a slap in the face to the intelligence of the young people that support Ron Paul. They deserve our admiration instead of insults.

self-deprecating
If you describe someone's behaviour as self-deprecating, you mean that they criticize themselves or represent themselves as foolish in a light-hearted way.

I've noticed that Drudge has made some bad selections on some of the biased articles lately but that is his right as a journalist but it also is my right to stop going to his site anymore until he goes back to being part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

RP was Brilliant! As he always is! He feels the love...

and support from all of us. It energizes him. Keep sending only positive thoughts to him - no negativity!

Truth is the ultimate strategy

As many of you here on the D to the P, after watching the debate live, I thought Ron did us all proud with his sharper than usual bursts of common sense. After watching the highlight reel here, and one of Ron's responses in particular, it became clear to me that this debate may be responsible for a potential uptick in FL turnout for Ron.

After the Other 3™ went on about how they were going to see to it that Florida will be swimming in funding for the Space program once they were elected (my interpretation), Ron's answer was simply "...the amount of money we spend on Space, the only part I would vote for is for national defense purposes... not just for the fun of it." Yeah, he said that. In Florida. And it was brilliant. I think voters see a man that will not pander to them for the sake of a vote. Just as Ron told Iowans that he would cut the corn subsidies. The truth is refreshing, and I think that has more weight than the false promises that most voters expect to hear from a presidential candidate. I've seen this point made before in other instances, but it was very apparent tonight.
