Colonel Douglas Macgregor: "Ron Paul Best For National Defense"
Submitted by edaquasure on Fri, 01/27/2012 - 07:59
Retired U.S. Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor explains why Rep. Ron Paul's plan would actually strengthen the U.S. military:
"As Ron Paul has pointed out, we do need to scale back our overseas footprint. Our presence in many parts of the world today is actually a catalyst for conflict. We're not cultivating peaceful conditions, in many cases we're doing the opposite..."
...
"Ron Paul is the only man who is in touch with reality"!"

Find out how "entangling alliances" interfered with the rights, and honor, of these U.S. Navy sailors from the USS Liberty www.ussliberty.org
people need to see more like this
We have many gifted vets who should be looking at our current defense posture and making like comments. I try to bring this up in my dealings with friends family and people I meet.
Many people have told me they don't think RP has a good foreign policy, By asking ?s of that person I am usually rewarded by an aha moment on their faces. Questions like do you think that our overspending on defense has actually caused a major portion of our economic problems? Or how did Hitler manage to invade France so easily when France had one of the most extensive defenses on the border with Germany?
Or why did we win in WW2 in only 4 years but we are still in Afghanistan for more than 10 years?
Why did we send troops to Uganda? How long should we stay in Germany or Japan now that WW2 and the cold war is over?
South Korea sends lots of cars,cellphones, and TVs to sell in America don't you think its time for them to pay for the cost of our troops being there?
You get the idea. After you ask the question really just stop speaking and carefully listen to the response.
If you don't have a good response then just stay silent for a bit and let them continue or if you have a great response then state it simply and don't try and elaborate too much.
The col in the video did that worked beautifully. KISS method works well, its the best one for people with short attention spans.
I also agree with Zak Carter that it would be great to have the Col. at the DC president day veteran's for Ron Paul March. Great to have our younger vets speak up and be recognized but do not forget our ww2 vets korean and very important our vietnam vets to have them speak out.
Remember when the Vietnam guys came home there were no big parades and such for them.
I and others will be in DC 20 Feb 2012 If you can't be there call your vet buddies and let them know about it. If you can't attend due to work or other obligations consider sponsorship of another vet. Maybe you could wear a small ribbon which thanks your sponsor for their help in sponsoring you to the event.
If you are younger ask older vets to support RP after you win them over with your great ?s or ideas.
This battle is going to be long pace yourself, good rest, partyings ok but don't let it overtake the mission. eat right. If you are coming to the march dress right for conditions especially if cold weather or cold rain. If we look like miserable might not help our message. Also stand tall remember when you had to do those dog and pony shows for visiting media or guests well we might have eyes on us or in the media represent RP well and do your very best.
for liberty is our goal thanks

That is one of the most

The Colonel is awesome - it would be fantastic to see him get more airtime on the media supporting Ron's foreign policy. He is a great speaker and would be perfect to address the whitehouse rally 2/20/2012.
1 General for every 4-6,000? Amazing
And, that was during WWII. That is a fantastic, amazing statistic, and such a great argument to scaling back, and let's scale back those rich elitist fat-cat Generals, too!

Colonel Douglas Macgregor is what I'd call an actual Representative of the Department of Defense. His views and logic are that of actual and rational National Defense!
Just awesome

I have problems accessing the Fox videos sometimes. Maybe a Firefox issue, who knows. Love the Colonel's quote "Ron Paul is the only man who is in touch with reality"!
Ron Paul's best defense on Foreign Policy is Col. MacGregor!
Get him out there on the campaign trail, campaign.

When I saw this guy on Russia Today, I immediately forwarded the video to be sent to RP.
I think this is where RP is getting some of his talking points about how the rest of the candidates' foreign policy is based on a "cold war" mentality.
I loved how RP made mention of "Muslims hiding under the bed" last night. He's really turning this "isolationist" theme around and using it on them.
There is still some work to do on the message, but we are so lucky to have access to our guy in a way that no other supporters do.
He also did something very powerful last night, that Medina used when she was running.
When pArry and Hutchy were arguing back and forth, she simply stepped back from the podium, and extended her hands toward the other two, and said "this is part of the problem." It was a tremendous "outsider" moment for her, and was the beginning of her rise in the polls.
Dr. Paul is listening and working to improve his delivery. We are so lucky that he is willing to even consider our ideas. The other guys wouldn't give you the time of day, unless you had a fat contribution check dangling in front of them.

I'd have to agree.
Seems that RP made some improvement in his delivery.
For the first time in a while I can say that with confidence, gratitude, and hope for even more improvement.
Hate to say it, but I really think an improved delivery will help the Freedom cause immensely. Look at Newt. 75% of his popularity is probably based on his delivery, because his actual record as a representative is atrocious and his moral track record is even worse. Most of his supporters just think he speaks well.
I believe the fastest way for RP to rise in the polls is to really take some public speaking tips from pros, like Wead, etc. He must role play, he must practice, he must SELL HIMSELF. I know it's out of his comfort zone, but we are in a brutal war for the souls of men.
For the first time, I feel like he has tried to improve his oratory skills:
* He spoke slowly
* Looked confident
* Used humor
* Had good sound bites
* He attacked Newt (i.e., exposed the truth of his actual record)
* Good non-verbal gestures, as you noted
* And he related as a human to the audience
I do think he needs to sell himself more, and share what benefits Americans would receive if he was president. In almost every answer, he should try to say, "...and by this policy change, YOU (Mr. and Mrs. Voter) will benefit as follows..."
I repeat, it is absolutely critical that he still vastly improve his speaking skills. I hate seeing an evil man like Newt using these skills to deceive people, while a humble, honest man loses probably lots of percentage points just because he can't deliver powerfully.
RP must become a powerful speaker, a bold leader, a orator who carries conviction into the hearts of his audience.

Damn, that's good stuff. Hats
Damn, that's good stuff. Hats off to Col. MacGregor for not being a military-industrial complex sellout.
Blessed are the peacemakers, but elected are the war hawks.
