Couldn't believe my eyes on Redstate this morning

Is this the same place that regularly bans Ron Paul supporters?
"Then there was Ron Paul. Many of us quickly dismiss Ron Paul, but his performance was stellar. He offered extremely sound responses on healthcare, education, border security, and more. Very few of the questions were on foreign policy, which is where he tends to go off the reservation. Last night he came off as warm, funny, and right on the mark. It was his best debate performance. Santorum and Paul benefited from Romney and Gingrich’s constant bickering."

If you read the whole thing
If you read the whole article he still puts Paul in last place. The only kind words are part of the new tactic by the GOP.
Their goal is to push RP out but still try keep his supporters in the GOP.
Don't be fooled. They still hate us, but they realized they need us.

If you are not banned by RedState, you are not doing your job. Attack!
I'm voting for Ron Paul for President
Doesn't matter if his name is already on the ballot or I have to put it there. I do NOT support an independent or third party run, though. I think Dr. Paul can win the Republican nomination, take the party back from the Neocons and win the election.
I'll take Ron Paul in the center square for the win!

Let's not post links to redstate, okay?
good idea. I just went there
good idea. I just went there to look at this (which was a ridiculous article in total) and the newt grewpies just about turned my stomach. I hate that place.
RP needs to articulate his foreign policy better
He needs to call 1-800-Rand and ask how to explain himself to Neocons.

Yeah, reallly.
His son is much better at being a politician.
You can take that how you will.
Where have I seen this before...
It's like deja vu! When Ron Paul is not in a position to win (IE Florida) Neo-cons have no problem talking him up a bit, no doubt in hope of pushing their candidates to be more conservative. If/when he starts to do well in the polls they will abuse him the same as always.
They only want a sprinkling of small government between their aggressive foreign policy and social programs.

Some commenter was calling
Some commenter was calling Ron an Israel hater because "Protocols of Zion" or whatever it's called is being soled on Campaign for Liberty site, as if they caught them being anti-Israel. Then he brags about having the biggest anti-paul site online. Bunch of Trotksyite Neocons.
This is what they are referring to:
A smear campaign is brewing :(

The Red State Fascists Are Off the Reservation,
not Ron Paul who strictly supports the US Constitution's view of foreign engagements.
Notice how Newt Gingrich is now publicly claiming the audience in the last debate in FL was stacked...presumably against him. ;) Newt Gingrich is rapidly appearing as the flake that he really is. Thankfully, Sanitorium ;) is still in the race exposing the hypocrisy and flip-flopping of Mitt's position on healthcare. Let the flakes duke it out while Ron steadily rises to the top.
We weren't thinking
We were in the GOP version of the Land of Oz - we were always "off to see the Wizard" who always turned out to be a fraud.
Red State
The Red State Blog has pretty much soured me on the GOP because of the way that they have treated Dr. Paul; they are more discourteous and defamatory than either talk radio or other net sites like National Review.
I am thankful that Dr. Paul provided information to straighten out my thinking after being a Neocon since 1984: what was I thinking?

That was hardly a glowing
That was hardly a glowing review. In the context of the whole article he was simply 'not bashed too much' (though they had to say that his foreign policy is "off the reservation").
This little blurb at the end of an article from somebody no one has heard of is insignificant.

I strongly disagree
The significance is in WHY Erickson (and others) have shifted.
For a while the attacks on Paul from redstate were deeply vile. They not only dismissed his chances, they put venomous, personal attacks prominently on the front page.
They have a stated policy of always supporting the Republican in the general election, so when multiple admins started repeating the "Ron Paul is not a real Republican" meme I took it to be laying the groundwork for not supporting him if he got the election. That, I think, was when they started getting scared of Ron Paul. Why lay that groundwork if Ron Paul has no chance of being the nominee?
All of this shows how much they hate Ron Paul. Or more accurately, that's how much they love not being bound by the Constitution when it comes to war. They'll even back moon-faced Newt if he'll just give them "strong defense."
So in that context, when they very grudgingly have to start saying nicer things about Paul, and when the comments start to have multiple people saying "I have to admit Paul was right about ..." and admitting that Paul was better than the other candidates on various issues, it's tangible evidence that Ron Paul is being recognized as a force they can't ignore. And I'm very happy to see it.
If you couple that with the weak support they have for Newt ... "he may be a loser but he's the loser we're stuck with" ...
Newt support
In my conversations with active Republicans who support Newt, the support for Newt is really an anti-Romney stance.

I guess I just don't know the history there. I don't read that site, so I am not aware how significant it is. That said, they all want Dr. Paul's supporters, so it would make sense to throw us a bone every now and then.

Redstate: Newt and Mitt are both losers, but who else is there?
Another Erickson post recently had this:
And I've seen this meme more and more, as the (oh so fun to watch) infighting at redstate has gone on and on. The new meme for justifying support for Newt is that even though Newt may be likely to lose ... at least he's not Mitt. And even though Newt tends to stab Conservatives in the back ... won't the debates against Obama be fun to watch as the GOP goes down in flames?
Yes, they've come down to two candidates who are so deeply flawed they have almost no enthusiastic supporters. Just "our guy isn't as crappy as your guy" feuds.
Maybe that's about as good as it's going to get from the "Who Would Jesus Bomb" camp, but it's good enough to get people looking more seriously at Paul.
Good stuff.
Don't be fooled
Some within the GOP and the other campaigns are starting to crunch numbers and are starting to realize that no matter how well funded or how well organized, the eventual candidate will be walking into a meat grinder without us and all of their hard work will be for nothing. They are also seeing that the republican party is getting old demographically and membership is dwindling. We represent a much needed injection of new and younger blood. They are hoping that if they treat him nice and talk his talk we will be willing to compromise when he gets the boot and won't jump ship with him. I won't no matter how much they promise because none of them have a record of actually delivering. Look what they did to the Tea Party. Sucked them in, co-opted them and then screwed them.
I don't care if they treat me nice or treat me bad
JUST OBEY THE CONSTITUTION! That's all then we will all be there. (don't say it! do it!)
Re: Don't be fooled
I agree darth_leroy. I think you nail it here. Starting with Iowa, we saw full bore slash and burn towards Paul by all the establishment-approved talking heads and blogs (Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, Redstate, Hot Air). They did their part to make it clear supporting Ron Paul was a fool's mission.
Recently, listening and reading, I sense they have made a strategic decision RP has been safely marginalized and now is the time to start making amends to his supporters in hopes of keeping us on their the team. The establishment GOP has started to turn and try to bring us back on board by tempering their words.
I also agree it won't work as smoothly as they predict. Using myself as a test case: A year ago I still thought positively of most of the big dog righties. After seeing how they intentionally smeared RP (and us) I now see them as the other wing of the same bird. They asked me to suck it up, hold my nose and vote for Papa Bush, Dole, Bush II, McCain. I am tired of going down with their stupidly ran ship. No mas amigos. They can take one for their team if they want but I have left the team. If RP doesn't get the nom, I'll write him in.
indeed
It's Ron Paul or my ballot goes to the shredder (again).
We need a website of pledges around "Paul or nothing". If the GOP sees how many people pledge to vote for Paul or nobody, they'll blink but best of all, they'll be freaking out in their smokey backrooms and media command centers.
This is my pledge: Paul or Nobody. Because only Ron Paul and Nobody actually care and have any honesty in this race.
I'm not sure this is such a
I'm not sure this is such a good idea. I don't think it will help our cause and it reinforces the canard that we are not real Republicans. If Ron Paul doesn't win, he's going to try to get at least some of his views adopted by the party. The party has no reason to endorse a platform of ending the Fed, promoting civil liberties, or having a reasonable foreign policy if they think we won't support them either way. Some would say they wouldn't adopt any of those policies, but I think we are a more important voting bloc than some think.
I'm extremely encouraged by last night's debate, but there is a possibility that he won't win as there is with all of the candidates.
