"I Agree with Ron Paul" - Newt/Mitt (IT'S A TRAP!)

Watching the debate last night, I couldn't help notice how often both Newt and Mitt started off their respective soundbites with, "I agree with Ron Paul" or some variation of that. It happened over and over again. I kept thinking, wow, they're really waking up to at least some of what Ron Paul's been championing over the last 30 years. But then a light bulb went off and that fuzzy feeling went away...

Newt and Mitt both think that Ron Paul is a non-starter. They think he has no chance of winning. They both, however, have handlers who tell them that they cannot win...without US. So, they have to try and placate us...treat our good doctor with respect and even admiration. Then, corral us all together and make us vote Newt or Mitt, since by that time--their thinking goes--Ron Paul will be out or running third party and they will point to all the times (between now and then) that they were so nice to Ron Paul, talked him up, and basically brown-nosed him [to get to us].

I almost got fooled. But I already got fooled once by Obama. "Fool me once, shame on you...fool me"...as George Bush would say, "you can't get fooled again."

This is a good point. We have already won.

Tomorrow Ron Paul gets the endorsement of Maine's governor.

Think about it ...

The GOP establishment HATES the Liberty Movement because they instinctively understand that we have pulled the veil away and we see them for what they really are: whores for power.

They are nothing more than whores for power. They know it. We know it. They know we know it.

This is why Romney & Grinch are pandering to Ron Paul supporteers. This is why Jack Welch is saying the GOP should be "nice" to Ron Paul supporters. This is why we will see more and more of this bullsh*t, as it slowly becomes clear to the Rush & Hannity's of the world.

You watch. There will be more of this pandering, and the hilarious thing is they actually BELIEVE that it will work because THEY are whores for power, and they do not understand the mindset of those who are not.

Delegates, Delegates and more

Delegates, Delegates and more Delegates. Ron Paul's campaign has and will continue to outfox them. Votes and the fraudulently Diebold voting machines do not mean squat, delegates do.

There is no Left or Right -- there is only freedom or tyranny. Everything else is an illusion, an obfuscation to keep you confused and silent as the world burns around you." - Philip Brennan

Its still mathematically

Its still mathematically impossible. The % who will vote for Paul no matter what is too large for anyone to beat ANYONE the Dems will elect. The GOP knows this. Its just that they would rather deal with a statist such as Obama than Paul. In any other year they would without a doubt select a frontrunner with the same support as Paul, but Paul is no statist. The GOP is dead set on proving that they are no different than the Democrat party.

Someone on our local GOP Central Committee

who is a great supporter of Ron Paul recently sent out an e-mail saying that he will support "whoever the nominee is". I thought it was premature to do that, so I don't know why he did it. I thoroughly disagree with him. These times are different, this country is about to fall off the cliff and they are totally unaware of this and/or full of spin and denial. I will vote for Dr. Ron Paul and only for the good Doctor. I will not throw my vote away.

Well, I wouldn't call it a "trap."

I would call it bovine excrement.

Support the Constitution of the United States

I say don't worry about Ron

I say don't worry about Ron Paul winning or losing the primary. Be concerned about growing the movement as fast as possible. So if he does for some reason not win the primary we continue to grow the movement and "force" Ron Paul to run for president some other way. My hope is that the movement will be growing so much that Ron Paul will feel he has no choice but to comply.

What they don't understand is that I know that I am not voting for anyone other than Ron Paul, If he does not get the nomination no one gets my vote. I bet others feel the same so Its Ron Paul or Obama.

I don't understand how...

someone can back Ron Paul ... learn from him and find the honest truth. And if they can't vote for Paul, they will vote for Obama. This befuddles me to no end. Ron Paul a true capitalist and libertatrian. Obama a communist and big government. Do people really understand the difference? Me, for one, would rather not vote than supply Obama with my confidence! No I do not feel the same.... sorry.

It's time! Rand Paul 2016!

"Truth, Justice, and the American Way!"

They are positioning themselves as

as a sensible and electable version of Ron Paul since he clearly has his hand on the pulse of what the American people are really seeking. And they know they win without him and his followers. Too bad most of will never again vote for the lessor of two evils.

"A vote for the lesser of two evils is a vote to keep things the same", Buckminster Fuller..
A choice for liberty is always a choice for liberty.

Its twofold: A trap for us and a way to deflect embarassment

All three of them have been doing the trap as of late thinking we will drop everything and vote for them. However, Newt and Mitt praise Paul when they have no comebacks or are embarrassed because of a bad response. Newt is the most obvious. He puts on his little drama scenes by attacking the mods and getting cheers whilst deflecting the question as "gotcha". Blitz admitted this afternoon that he knew Newt would try this like he always does and he made sure not to ask something that would play into newt's little sideshow. Newt was embarrassed over the Mitt exchange and had to soak the applause from Rick and Ron rather than attack Blitz. The best example was when Ron told the crowd that Newt was stretching the balanced budget BS. Newt skirted the issue by kissing up to Ron on social security and he was booed by the crowd. Mitt is more subtle, but he does the same. Best example was New Hampshire. He claimed to be as pro-life as Rick Santo, then praises states for selling contraceptives. When George asked him again, he pointed to Ron and said ask the constitution guy. If it wasn't for the obvious media bias and the props they give out, Ron would win every debate. Ron got the most applause last night and Newt and Mitt had to latch on to Ron's coattails to still look good.

my 2 cents

I dont know to many stupid Ron Paul supporters. The man speaks over the head of many, stumbles through sentences, trails off into rants mid-expression, looks a bit odd in his suit, has weird eye brows, and is old. All things that easily distract politically ignorant people and make him easy to under-estimate. No sir, if you are a Paul supporter chances are you read, listen, think, and discuss the position of Liberty. Substance over style without question.

Little chance Newt and Romneys soundbytes, big government, cognative dissonance, and TV charm could make you believe.

Even the lesser of two evil voters amongst us must recognize if Paul doesnt get the ticket and they want to vote lesser of two evils bs (I will write him in) then Obama should get the nod. Only 4 more years of Republicrat policies before a new chance, verses a chance of 8 years of the same with any other republican.

If someone other than Paul

If someone other than Paul wins the nomination, they will promise all of Paul's positions EXCEPT his foreign policy, they MAY even talk about bringing some troops home from a couple of bases, say Japan or somewhere. The hitch will be that this will all be said with the hopes of FOOLING US into supporting that nominee instead of Paul. It goes without saying that of course NOTHING they "promise" us will EVER come to pass! I am not falling for it!

Don't think Dr. Paul will allow the phoniness of their promises

to have sway with his principles...

And, there is NO incentive for any of us to vote for the R or G ticket.

I view Romney AND Gingrich as GLAMOUR SEEKERS. They see what other puppet presidents had, and they want the limelight, too. Look at Obummer. He goes on a record number of extravagant trips, and his wife recklessly spends all our money, calls out Johnny Depp for a Halloween Alice in Wonderland Party at the White House and keeps it secret! I mean, it's quite the flashy and lavish set-up, isn't it.

Funny Thing - My 8 year old said

As they were going to a commercial break my Daughter who is eight says to me. Daddy Mitt Romney just leaned over and whispered a secret to Ron Paul.

My response was, Yes Mitt just ask Dr Paul if he could be Dr Paul's vice president.

I think the word

disingenous has become personified in this election cycle.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

I was thinking the same

I was thinking the same thing. Last week the media twisted Paul's words about supporting Newt and now Newt is saying nice things to Paul. It is so blatantly obvious. Newt is courting Paul and his supporters.

if Newt gets it..

Im voting Obama.

If Romney gets it..

Im writing in Paul.

Thats saying something.. I cant stand Obama, but I dont like Newt even more.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

If Newt were to drop before

If Newt were to drop before the end (I don't think that he will, but who knows), I could definitely see him supporting Dr. Paul over Romney.

"The principle can be established that for a man who does not cheat, what he believes to be true must determine his action."
-- Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus

I seriously doubt it

Newt is an establishment candidate, like Romney. Even with all the attacks, I'm sure he would endorse Romney (see Huntsman)

They think we're stupid

But we're the only ones thinking.

Let them pander and hem and haw.

Paul or the entire party is irrelevant come November.

Great way to put it:

Either Ron Paul is irrelevant, or the Republican Party is irrelevant.

Take your pick.

Ron will need Newt's help

The anti Romney block may be just big enough to drag this thing out until Newt fall off, and then it'll be Ron who needs Newt's people.

alan laney

That's what I told my wife

That's what I told my wife during the debate. They were pandering and what they do not know, Ron Paul supporters are educated and will not fall for it! For me, its Ron Paul or it doesn't matter who gets it, we'll get the same government we've been getting for the last 100 years!

Notice what Romney did too...

When pressed on a foreing policy issue after paul had spoken? He layed into Obama, and I can't remember if he ever got to Paul. They must lose support if they do that. Knowing that bashing the true conservative is wrong.

I agree. I think also, Newt

I agree. I think also, Newt was heaping praise on RP because he didn't want the support he lost last night to go to Romney. Some day this is going to backfire on the establishment.

LOL, I picked up on this

LOL, I picked up on this "strategy" that they're apparently using a while back, I actually think it's painfully obvious to us RP supporters what exactly they are doing. However, I believe they gravely underestimate OUR intelligence in thinking that they could sway us to their camp simply by acknowledging RP on the stage with them.

The reality of course, is that neither Newt or Santy stand a chance unless they get enough hefty donations from special interests or the media is there to kiss ass every step of their sorry campaign -- The real battle is between Paul and Mitt, this however is too "dangerous" to bring out into the open.

They want RP supporters once

They want RP supporters once RP drops from the race.

because I saw it the other way around...I said to myself "great, maybe we will pick up some of Newt's people after he drops out"

I can't wait for Jon Stewart

I can't wait for Jon Stewart to do a montage of this. Just 2 or 3 min. straight of the other stooges saying over and over again "Dr. Paul is right, I agree with Dr. Paul, I think Ron is right on this one, He's the constitutionalist....."

I would be classic.
