Cut 1 Trillion the first year. How exactly does that breakdown? Anyone know?Submitted by tonym on Fri, 01/27/2012 - 19:25
Saw this post and was wondering myself.
"He says he wants to cut Energy, Commerce, Interior, Education, HUD, TSA, and All foreign aid the first year. Adding up the respective budgets of all those you get: $226.9 billion. Even if I lump in DEA and generously say that 40% of the defense budget is spent on foreign wars (which it surely is not), that totals up to about $509 billion, or a little over halfway toward his goal of $1 trillion the first year. So where does the rest come from?"
Now looking at Dr Paul's plan here (thanks Dr. NO) one quick question. Isn't a "freeze" the same thing cutting PROPOSED future spending? Isn't that what Dr. Paul assured everyone his plan DOESN'T do?
