Lewiston, Maine (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul met with Maine Republican Gov. Paul LePage on Friday, a stop that was not announced as part of the congressman's public schedule.

"He called and asked to meet," Paul told CNN when asked how the meeting with LePage came about.

Paul campaign manager Jesse Benton said the meeting went well. It's unclear what the two men discussed.

Congressman Paul, What would

Congressman Paul, What would you say if ...Governor LePage called you?

Cos Cob, CT

Probably just to say Hello

Probably just to say Hello, though LePage is probably sympathetic to some of Paul's issues.

Candidates don't usually make it to Maine, so when Paul dropped by and would be driving near the Capital anyways.....

I guess the endorsement

I guess the endorsement didn't happen today.

LePage...

Endorsement Coming?

The fact that the governor of Maine went and asked for a meeting with Ron on such short notice makes it sound like he's considering an endorsement.

Now, maybe he's just trying to meet with all the candidates in an attempt to get a one on one experience with them before handing out an endorsement, but I'd also think that by this point you'd be able to tell where the four remaining candidates stand on every important issue, making a personal engagement before endorsing one of them kind of unnecessary.

And if we do happen to get an endorsement from a governor that would be pretty big since Ron has yet to receive an endorsement from a governor. If he does get one that could really help us going in to Maine next week and will definitely give the campaign a big boost in general.

With this and The Hill article predicting a Virginia win for Ron I'm feeling pretty good today :)

You know, Tom, you must be the thinnest skinned guy in America, because if you think that's a confrontational tone, then you should really see me when I'm pissed."

Nice. Anticipating something really good here.

Also, how would you think Ron Paul would be received by Gov. Jan Brewer in AZ? I think better than Obama.

Endorsement coming up?
