"What's wrong with y'all? We got to get behind whoever the winner is!"

I was reading a post tonight about a girl who was sitting next to a man who saw she was a Ron Paul supporter and this man sitting next to her said this: "Whether it is Newt or Romney, we got to get behind whoever the winner is."

I thought about that for a moment and I tried to ponder what you could say to someone who would tell you something like this. It is then that I came up with a question that I would ask anyone who would suggest that to me.

If you were standing in a line for bread with your child, and all the other children and their parents were in front of you and they were being felt up in order to get some bread, would you continue to stand in that line and allow your child to be felt up for the bread that you and he could eat or would you get out of line and get in line with a group of people who would not allow that to happen to their child.

So many times we are lulled into believing that we have no choice but to conform and get in line so we can eat. Thank God for the few men and women throughout history who refused to be another slave in a crowd and chose to fight rather than submit to tyranny. We are at a crossroads in our history and if we don't stand for liberty, our children and their children will curse us for our lack of courage.

This is not the time to give quarter to those who mean to destroy our way of life and even our Country itself, but instead we must stand like men of old who realized there are far worse things than hunger. We are free men and women and by God we will not except anything less than freedom.

It is Dr. Paul or none. We will continue to grow and our voices will get louder and louder over time, but if we give in, we will be no better off than the animals in a Zoo. We will be fed, but at what cost to our children?

It isn't that hard

just do like lawyers do, don't ask a question you don't know the answer to.

Hmmm did you know NDAA just authorized obama to be king? And Newt was to expand the prez's powers? And Romney supports obama's NDAA?

I've found a few that didn't know what happened to the exec powers because of NDAA.

People are listening. Even if they don't agree this time, they will hear it again in the next debate. You didn't lie.

It really is a no brainer!!

‎"I truly wish Americans would really sit back and weigh the real opportunity costs in regards to how this presidential cycle will effect our country's future, when in every presidential election cycle we can easily elect and have sadly elected career politician after career politician for decades in our two party dictatorship the likes of Romney, Obama, Bush, Dubya, Clinton, Gingrich, Bachmann, Perry, Gore, Santorum,.....ect. ect. ect., and almost never are we ever given a chance to really elect a true statesman like Ron Paul who obviously represents the people's interests, takes his oath of office seriously, believes in the US constitution, and who has uncompromising integrity." WHOever JCM is, when he does

WHOever JCM is, when he does not now that etcetera is abbreviated "etc." and not ect. then I can not think he is so smart..

Digital Petition

Someone with more computer knowledge than me needs to start a digital petition stating we who will write in Ron Paul and swear not to vote for any other candidate nominated. We need hundreds of thousands of signatures to present at the convention in case Ron Paul is not nominated. That could and should swing the delegates to Ron.

Yep

And exit polls with Ron Paul voters swearing they voted for him, backed up with videos inside the booths. The machine is corrupt everywhere. Our day is coming. Move over little dogs cause the big dawgs are moving in.

This is a really good idea...

This is a really good idea... Especially if we got signatures from people in the general election swing states... Make Ron Paul the nominee... Or all these people won't vote for you in the general election, or worse, switch their vote to Obama... We need to force the issue here guys, our country is sliding downhill fast...

Republicae's picture

The idea that one should

The idea that one should choose between the lesser of two evils still results in evil being elected. Either we vote on principle or nothing at all.

i don't really think it matters..

at this rate if economy continues its worsening state, (notice how economy GDP grew less than expectation even by the standards of some of obama's failed economic advisors?) there is resemblance to germany prior to ww2 in its economic collapse--political parties will be radicalized, and in a more likely event--destructed and overthrown in a total change of political landscape. people resort to unimaginable (and imaginable) solutions when food prices soar above their salary pay. quite frankly if paul doesn't get elected and stop the world falling into chaos, the time will be ripe to think about more grassroots-preparation or self protection mechanisms. politics don't matter much beyond that point

It's Ron Paul or Obama

It's Ron Paul or Obama, not because I will vote for Obama, but because I will not vote for anyone except Ron Paul. Therefore, they will not get the votes they need to beat Obama because there are enough sheep following Obama to beat the sheep remaining behind the media illusions in the Republican Party.

It is Ron Paul or Obama because there are no other choices.

Thank god for people like

Thank god for people like you, we need more principled people in power...

If Ron Paul does not get

the nomination nor run third party and he decides to be on someone else ticket as vp, I will vote for this ticket. I believe that if he chooses to run with someone, he definitely thought hard about it and I will respect his decision and support him in this capacity. If we cannot get what we want (Ron Paul as POTUS), i believe it is not wrong to take what we can to make the best of the opportunity to spread the message of liberty and restoring the Constitution.

Kimmie

I have variations of this

I have variations of this conversation at least weekly. What I tell people is that Ron Paul is the only candidate that can win, given RP supporters attitude. The Republican party knows this and so it logically should coalesce around Dr. Paul. Anyone who can't see it is blind or crazy. I put it back in their face.

A better answer...

... to someone saying 'It doesn't matter what candidate you want because he's not winning right now' is to turn right back to him and say, "Oh, I'm voting for Obama if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination." And smile a big smile. You should be nice when you insult his ideals right back.

Any rebuttal will do but turn the tables on them.

"look how well uniting behind McCain worked out!"

"What's wrong with the constitutionalist choice instead of the party's choice?"

"So what you are saying with your 'uniting' behind the GOP candidate is 'uniting behind anybody but Ron Paul, right'"

There is no perfect rebutal but do rebut them! And turn the tables on them and keep it turned to your advantage. You never know they may even take your pamphlet.

"No we don't have to support Romney or Gingrich, why is it that Ron Paul is not part of your scenario? Did the media, or Shawn and Rush put this lie in your head?"

"Paul is the best constitutionally so why should I choose someone who will continue to gut the economy to fund war on foreign nations and make war on the American people by taking away our constitutionally guaranteed rights as the excuse to fight more wars?"

"I took the time to study the candidates and Paul is the best to beat Obama. Have you seen the Rasmussen poll? Romney and Newt are socialists while Paul is an Americanist. Why can't you see that? Too much Levin listening?"

"I won't allow the media to shape winners and losers. It obvious they did a number on you"

"I won't allow a few smug elitists in any party to give us another big spending, big government war hawk interventionist that will make the world a dangerous place for me and my children. Why are you allowing elitists to always stay in power with this uniting argument?

The "we have to unite behind one candidate" argument is a disengenuous way of saying anybody but Paul. Why did you fall for that cheap trick?"

archtoplee

Ron Paul or Obama, that's the choice.

What it comes down to for about 98% of Ron Paul supporters is the ideas behind Ron Paul. We say Ron Paul or nothing because no one else in this race on either side has any of the beliefs Ron Paul does. This means that if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination then the Ron Paul supporters won't vote for Mitt, Newt, or Rick or even Obama. This massively weakens the republican nominee and there is no chance they will win against Obama. The only hope that republicans/conservatives can win is if they back Ron Paul.

It will be quite a test of all the republicans out there. They think they have a shot at beating Obama with Mitt or Newt. It will be a slaughter. Obama will eat their lunch. Most people don't know that the incumbent President has won re-election 10 out of 14 times in the last 115 years.

Obama will win this if Ron Paul isn't nominated.

Exactly... I really really

Exactly... I really really really wish this was talked about in the mainstream media... The other three guys don't stand a chance against Obama. Ron Paul supporters won't defect because it's not about the man, but his IDEAS. Nobody in the Republican party gets this, they all assume that if you throw enough money at tthe problem, it will be fixed.
Anyway, like I said before, if Ron Paul is not chosen or his ideas of sound money are not adopted then I will choose the lesser evil... Obama...

Obama isn't the "Leser of two evils"

I liked your comment right up to that point. At that point, you lost me.

The ESTABLISHMENT Tweedle-DEM and the ESTABLISHMENT Tweedle-RE are not the "lesser" of two evils, they are -- together -- the worst evil possible, the continuation of the good-cop bad-cop paradigm which got us here and continues to lead us, stepwise, into ... well, where do you think we are going if we keep going the direction of less freedom and more government? Tweedle-DEM and Tweedle-RE are a SYSTEM cunningly designed to look like a choice.

I favored Obama in the last election, too. I didn't VOTE for him, though! Why did I favor him? Because whether he was better than McInsane or worse was not the most important thing. First, it was POSSIBLE he would be slightly than McInsane; possible but not too likely.

BUT THE MORE IMPORTANT REASON TO FAVOR OBAMA IN THE **LAST** ELECTION WAS SO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WOULD GET CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT THERE WAS NO SUBSTANTIVE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DEMOCRATIC AND REPUBLICAN PARTIES -- THAT THEY WERE BOTH CORRUPT AS SIN AND COMPLICIT IN RAPING THE COUNTRY.

The evidence is in, now, for anyone with integrity to see beyond a doubt. At this point there is no moral justification whatsoever for favoring another four years of either side of this evil, corrupt DemoPublican party.

Don't support Obama/Clinton and don't support Romney/Gingrich. (BTW, I think odds are excellent Clinton will be picked as VP -- especially if Ron Paul is on the final ballot!)

Support your Constitution and oppose ALL enemies! Don't go along with another round of good cop bad cop, under any circumstance!

Ok so what happens if Ron

Ok so what happens if Ron Paul and his ideas are completely brushed off by the GOP? i.e. we get completely snubbed out? From a practical perspective writing in Ron Paul's name, voting for the Libertarian party or staying at home won't make an ounce of change for when the next Libertarian candidate runs (Rand?) ... From an ethical perspective I know it doesn't sound nice but I really think we need to threaten the GOP, either support Paul or his ideas or face mass defection in the general election. Now before you say anything (I know) both parties the same and any differences are a fabricated illusion. But WE CAN USE that mass pre programming against the establishment. I said it before, threaten to defect to the blue team if the red team doesn't give you what you want, and vis versa... I know this all seems underhanded, but if it will end the endless war (mass murder) by our government, I think it's worth shot...

Helix, Defect, yes -- but NOT to Obama!

First of all, Helix, I gave your original post that "bump". I think you are speaking for many and I think you are speaking with the best intentions. Thanks for not taking my response as any sort of an attack on you.

If Ron Paul does not get the nomination (and we don't get some miracle iron-clad contract that satisfies us his key plank of adherence to the Constitution and fiscal sanity are actually going to be implemented) we need to defect from the Republican party, for sure .. by writing in Ron Paul's name or writing in "Mickey Mouse". What we should NOT do -- the absolute worst thing you can do -- is switching to vote for Obama in protest.

The logic of "don't throw away your vote" is FALSE logic and, even more important for you to really grok, it is the BRAINWASHING which has kept us in the DemoPublican stockyard, proceeding toward the slaugherhouse, for several hundred years!

Given a "bad" (traitorous) Democrat verus a bad (traitorous) Republican the proper response is to preserve YOUR moral integrity and dignity and refuse BOTH choices. The DemoPublican candidates are all owned by effectively the same cabal. The cabal really doesn't care which you choose -- Obama or Romney -- they care very much that you choose one or the other. If you choose one evil or the other, regardless of choice and regardless of which is actually "more evil", YOU ADVANCE EVIL. You keep yourself plugged into the Matrix. Your complicity with the PROCESS supports the process for another round of wash-rinse-repeat. We don't need wash-rinse-repeat ... we need COLLAPSE. We need the evil, criminal, propagandistic, warmongering, illegal system to collapse ... or we need to pull it down. Help pull it down legally, for sure -- you don't want to give Obamanation an excuse to "disappear" you nor give Faux another story to support their terrorist propaganda.

What isn't much appreciated is that the people of this country don't actually have to do anything really ACTIVE to collapse the system ... it could be done actively ... or it could be done passive aggressively. It could be be done with laughter (remember the story of The Emperors New Clothes). It can be done by getting a job in the Federal government and patiently, steadfastly, gumming up the system.

The system is headed toward collapse anyway. It is corrupt. It is grossly inefficient. It is a Ponzi scheme. It is evil. "Everything that has a beginning has an end, Neo!"

So the system has to come down anyway. The sooner the better, so we can reset the system and save lives and dreams. There is nothing wrong with withholding support for an UNConstitutional (criminally illegal), non-representative government. There is something VERY wrong in allowing this evil to persist one day longer than necessary. As I said, you don't actually have to do anything if you wish ... just don't do anything ... implied or actual ... which sanctions the current evil. Be true to your own soul!

"Thanks for not taking my

"Thanks for not taking my response as any sort of an attack on you."
Haha... Off course not man, we're in this together, we all support the same outcome... I think we're kinda just trying to figure out the best method to get there.
And I just wanted to say that I totally understand where your coming from (especially when quoting some of my favourite movies ;)
Like you I think our system is headed for collapse as well, it's just a matter of time before people lose faith in the current fiat system (especially if central banks keep abusing their power and printing to save the banks at the expense of main street).
Ok, so my reasoning on this goes. If we can't get what we want with Paul or his ideas then from a pragmatic perspective its our duty to force the collapse sonner rather then later. I think Obama is the right man for that, by funding these massive entitlement program's and the military we will bankrupt ourselves sooner rather then later. If we vote in a Romney for example, then I suspect it's far more likely that he will push austerity on the public (without touching the source of the problem, the Fed and the banks). We will end up suffering longer before the big moment comes... Just look at what's happening in Greece at the moment...
Anyway, those are kinda my thoughts... Let me know what you think...

FYI... Fight Club is another favourite of mine...

If you think the people in the Republican Party

If you think the people in the Republican Party don't get this, look again at the Welch interview. First, the fact that they even put the Welch interview on TV demonstrates that they are worried. Second, the fact that Romney has given the "nod" to Ron Paul on stage several times indicates that they are worried but they don't fully understand that the people who are behind Ron Paul are non-negotiable. Even the new converts, become non-negotiable quickly. Third, there are many non-committed people who could quickly become committed if the foreign policy hurdles could be surmounted.

When Jim DeMint is willing to say Ron Paul has been right on the easier hurdles and continues to champion the foreign policy delusions, that is the signal that if we overcome the foreign policy hurdle we can win the game. If you direct the foreign policy message to the heart of a neo-con, that neo-con will become a flip-flopper. When his neighbors become flip-floppers, they will begin to dig deeper. When they reach consensus -- TOUCHDOWN!

I ran across this quote, maybe here!

“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.” — John Quincy Adams

No Way In Hell

There's nothing any of the other candidates that could sway my Ron Paul vote. I'llbe writing him in if I must. Vote for who you believe is right, not who they say you can vote for. If Newt or Romney try to convince Dr Paul to run as their VP I still wont vote for them as president. VP are powerless. Ron Paul with or without the nomination!

If moderates want anyone but Obama, fiscal-conservatives want Paul, libertarians want Paul, independents want Paul, and disenchanted-democrats want Paul; Ron Paul is the best choice to beat the incumbent.

Either you get that the neocons and liberals are the same

or you don't.

Most neocon followers just don't get it. Most still believe Rush, Hannity, etc. saying that Romney and Obama are very different.

They aren't different. They are the same.

Frankly, we are asking people to swallow a hard truth. If the two-party system is an illusion, then, via domino effect, most things they believed about the government would be on the chopping block. That is very scary to some.

In Matrix terms, there are a lot more Cyphers than Neos...more people would rather believe in the illusion since it is more comfortable.

Ignorance is bliss...and people will fight you to stay ignorant.

Would you stand behind Mitt?

I like what I heard one young Ron Paul supporter say in a recent interview when he was asked if he would stand behind whoever gets the republican nomination, whether it be Paul or not. His answer (paraphrasing), "My vote doesn't belong to the republicans, and my vote doesn't belong to the democrats, my vote belongs to ME and i'm voting for Ron Paul.

Also, there's the people who are really just trying to make Paul and us out as being disloyal to the Republican party by saying things like, "Would you stand behind Mitt if he gets the republican nomination?" I say just turn it around and say, "if Ron Paul won the nomination, would you stand behind and support him?"

No one can find a safe way out if society is sweeping towards destruction. Everyone,in his own interests, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle. None can stand aside with unconcern; the interests of everyone hang on the result. - LvM

I like this response.

The message "my vote belongs to ME not a political party" is a very powerful message. When it is followed up with the message "I freely give my vote to Ron Paul because I can trust him!" It is VERY, VERY POWERFUL. MY HAPPINESS DRIVES ME TO VOTE FOR A MAN I CAN TRUST! RON PAUL IS THAT MAN! Yay!!!

That is a big difference from "I will vote for doodah if I have to..." Its like "Will you marry me?" "Well, if I have to." How fun is that?

Response to the comment,

Response to the comment, "Whether it is Newt or Romney, we got to get behind whoever the winner is."

Response:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, because it’s good to know that you are going to be all out 100% behind Dr. Ron Paul when he wins.

As for me, I only vote for principled conservative values that promote and protect liberty and freedom. Anything else will not get my vote no matter what party label is slapped on it.

Let it not be said that we did nothing.-Ron Paul
Stand up for what you believe in, even if you stand alone.-Sophia Magdalena Scholl

perfect indeed!

That is a fun one. No argument, just a slap in the face. But, it probably wouldn't garner the vote that we need. It would however make the guy feel bad when he votes for the media illusion.
