Anyone Else Hate Ron Paul?

Im 35, newly married, working for a major bank and I wish I never found Ron Paul or any of you fantastic people! Now...

TV sucks....

Talk radio sucks...

My "asleep" friends suck..

And my family wants to give me a "Ron Paul Intervention...?"

Can I please just go back to sleep?

I was happy and I wasn't wearing a Ron Paul cap all the time...

Does anyone else feel my pain?!?!

I've been that way since 1980 --

yes, and it only gets better if you learn to ask questions and talk about THEM ....

...... and never EVER even so slightly mention Ron Paul, James Bovard, Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Journal of libertarian studies, Tom Woods, Ludwig Von Mises, Jacob Hornberger, essays on fff.org, news-stories found at antiwar.com, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson, John Locke, Justin Raimondo, Fredrick Hayek, and Judge Andrew Napolitano

But in 2013, go ahead and put a sign in your front yard that reads ....

"Napolitano For President 2016"

(This way I won't be the only one)

LOL YES

My friends are in COMA! I have converted at least 6 of them though, you just gotta educate them on the new world order and how serious $h!t really is.

i hate ron paul because

he's not related to me. :P

It's not hate you feel.

You like (or love) Ron Paul. You don't hate him, you are just not sure you can ever forgive him for not leaving "well enough" alone. Once you realize that "well enough" was in fact, not, you will also realize there is nothing to forgive.

Some times I feel the exact

Some times I feel the exact same... especially when I try to 'convert' people.

I think that

TV sucks....

Talk radio sucks...

And my family wants to give me a "Ron Paul Intervention...?"

Can I please just go back to sleep?

Don't worry, the initial

Don't worry, the initial shock and disgust smooths out over time. I find it's much easier to talk to a neocon now than it was 4 years ago, I still feel like putting my foot through the television every-so-often, some neocons too now that I think about it... The important thing to remember is that this a long term effort, completely dependent upon our diligence.

You are in the wilderness...but have faith, it gets better

I totally understand your feelings. I, and most, had them when our apathy was cured. Almost everything I thought I knew about the government was flipped upside down.

I use two stories to illustrate what is happening and will happen to you.

One is Israelites leaving the slave mentality and Egypt only to languish in the wilderness. But eventually, things got better. Read/watch Moses to see how important faith is during the time in the wilderness.

Also, watch the Matrix. Right now, you are like Neo first awakened, woozy, confused, and in partial denial of the real reality.

But like Neo, you will adjust to the new reality.

Concerning going back to sleep, sorry, there is no going back the matrix...no Cypher escape.

Ignorance is bliss. Our truth bombs treaten people's ignorance

thus we threaten people's bliss. I believe that is a major why people resist Ron Paul.

People think they can't handle the truth.

Yeah - I'm a different person (better) than 4 years ago...

...when I discovered this great statesman.

Now I find myself constantly teaching, philosophizing, arguing and just generally espousing the things I've learned by following Dr. Paul for 4 years.

Can't agree that I hate Ron Paul - on the contrary, he is a HERO of mine now.

Although I understand how you mean the term "hate" in this instance.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

don't worry. the pain will pass.

assuming your family and friends are reasonable people, with your continuing help, it's only a matter of time until their previously brainwashed minds wake up and they will see the truth as clearly as you now do. for most people, it takes times to accept that things are not as you have always been lead to believe. in time, they will be extremely grateful to you for getting them started in their journey to find the truth.

Red or Blue ?

Well, didn't the Morpheus tell you that there is no way you can turn back !?

It's not easy I know the "food" sucks, and many people are still sleeping, but you know what, at least you live your own life !

But doesn't it feel

good to have a clear conscience?

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

Cancel your cable :-D

Life is so much more peaceful without the tv blaring all the time, telling you what to think. Netflix is soooo much cheaper!

I was a soldier in the Army when I woke up, we were almost 5 years into Iraq, and I had given up. The first thing I felt after finding Ron Paul was hope, and then peace.

Last time around was tough. We just didn't have the numbers. This time, we do. The math says that we are going to win.

So don't worry about the neo-cons. Talk to them or don't talk to them. It doesn't matter, and often it's not worth your time or energy. We will win without them, because they will vote for him if they have to.

Enjoy your hat! It will be a collector's item soon! :-D

RON PAUL 2012

So many posts to respond to

So many posts to respond to so little time...I am so glad I AM NOT ALONE...the Red Pill has been a rough ride.

I am so grateful to all of you.

Lol, but no

I'm chuckling out loud, but I don't feel pain, only sadness when I encounter the inevitable deniers of their own freedoms.
It's a heart rending sadness, one welling from deep within my spirit, I can't properly explain the "feeling". It seems to transcend the empathy towards the individual and grows in scope to encompass the entirety of an republic in crisis and peril.
Frustratingly difficult, uncommonly important, focused and prevalent.
But I could no more hate Ron Paul, who is but another messenger BTW, than I could hate myself.
I might dislike the "uncomfortable" nature of having to fight this fight that never should have needed to be fought. I might "fear" the out come(s), not the hope in victory, but rather the despair of failure, and the myriad of foul faces that portends. I might "loath" the conversations with the entrenched "tools" of various forms of self bondage. But I do not, can not, even in jest say I've ever hated Ron Paul.

"there shall come after us men whom shall garner great wealth using our system, and having done so shall seek to slam the door of prosperity behind them." George Washington

So funny!

I was never a big TV or radio person, but this IS hard:

My "asleep" friends suck

I've got some neocon friends who love Glenn Beck and Hannity basically "channel" them in conversations about Ron Paul.

I just have to spend more time with these people and I know they will be converted.

They aren't stupid, they've just put their brains on autopilot and let neocon talking heads do the steering.

Ha ha

I sort of know what you mean.

Here's the thing. I have never fully understood the government, politics, history, economics, the constitution, etc. until I started listening to Ron Paul.

I am the kind of guy that always wants to know why we are doing something and if you can't give me a good answer then we should re-consider doing it.
I've always been reluctant to embrace the political scene because it can be so divisive and because I never full felt that either party was on the right path.

Now I find myself understanding policies and rating candidates based on their positions and how they have historically stood for constitutional principles. What Ron Paul is doing is calling America to hold their government accountable to the founding father's vision and the Constitution. I feel more free and empowered, like it was supposed to be "We the people."

My wife thinks I've gone crazy but I think secretly she likes that I look up to a man like Ron Paul. Heck, I am even considering taking Economics classes at my local community college (I have seen the curriculum though and they teach Keynesian econ).

My point is Ron Paul has done wonders for this country and for me personally. This is someone I can tell my son to look up to and someone who makes me want to be a better man.

"Once you become knowledgeable, you have an obligation to do something about it."- Ron Paul

You could try to think like a socialist

In order to go back to sleep you'll have to pretend lies are truth and that prosperity can be printed on a printing press and that hard working smart chinese people will give America a free ride...they'll say:
"Just forget the 10 trillion, no biggie..want a cookie?".
You'll have to imagine people around us will pay our way forever!
(I don't think you will be able to go back to sleep)

Yes, it sucks at first, then

Yes, it sucks at first, then you come to love it. Now get to work and recruit 10 more people into The Ron Paul Army!

NOPE!

:-)

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

i've been THERE

for almost five years.

may 18th, 2007.

you always hear about "life-changing" events or words or people or places or, as RP says, WHATEVER.....

but that day bled into may 19th without sleep, and then into may 20th. i think i got some sleep that night, maybe. i can't remember.

but yes.....the personal sacrifice for all of us is just exactly like you describe. most people are NOT up for it.
sounds like you are up for it.

but, though it's not going to get easier for us any time soon, as people will be slow in catching up, you WILL find people who are not asleep - and they will make all the difference in the world.

please! cheer up, or THEY have already won.
and god knows, if i can do it, then so can you.

btw, a friend since 2nd grade is now watching the debates and is saying things that mean he is leaning toward ron. this is a BIG, BIG, BIG deal. i won't go into it. but just trust me.

The truth will make you free

but will also make you miserable.

No more comfort in false dichotomies in your mind that held off the cold realities you knew deep down where there, but didn't want to deal with.

No more part of the society of sheeple who don't think past the next ball game or soap opera drama on the tube.

Standing alone as the oddball.

Nope, it's not easy. But it will pay off when the day comes, and you are mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared when everyone else is standing dumbfounded and shocked at what has come to pass. Noah did not build an ark when it was raining.

Or better yet, you become part of the positive change to prevent it, and become a hero to your children and their children's children for saving the future of liberty for them to enjoy.

good point about Noah . . .

Semperfi; I tell myself that quite a bit.

I tell myself that *I* must remain strong so I can help my "friends" (and family and co-workers and fellow church-goers) when their eyes are opened.

It can be devastating. It goes beyond typical culture shock--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Hammer, meet Nail.. :)

Well stated SemperFi !!!

no . . . I was awake for over 10 years before . . .

I became aware of Dr. Paul. It was harder to be awake with nobody else being awake alongside--

So, no.

It's easier having others awake, too--

I can imagine it would be hard for those of *you* who are just recently awake--

my heart goes out to you--

spouse woke up about 1 year before I did, but only partially--

then I WOKE UP, and it startled spouse who wanted to go back to sleep--

then spouse woke up, and I wanted to sleep again--

when I woke up, finally . . . I was more awake than spouse--

who then woke up entirely . . . about 8 years ago--

what a journey; I guess we've had sleep disorders!!!

:)

We never, ever, EVER went back to a partisan political paradigm or any particular public persona--

we were not enthused about any candidates (except Dr. Paul)--

we just got weary, at times, taking turns, of knowing SO much--

and either not being able to talk to others or being the center of controversial conversations--

Some advice:

stay away from MSM or you will go back to sleep--

I flirted with WSJ for years, and it nearly put me back to sleep; spouse flirted with NPR--

didn't have television, but those flirtations just about sent us back to sleep--

one of us was always awake, though--

this is a VERY strangely-worded post!!!

Sleep disorders--

HA!

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

The Monroe County Republican Party....

...in southeast Michigan hates/hated what he stands for....that's why I had to run THIRD PARTY in 2008.

Pretty sure this(my views) cost me my job! I was fired without cause 11 days after our debate at the local Community College!
