My Idea if Dr. Paul isn't the Nominee

That Jack Welch interview really made me think and today I made a decision. Please read on with an open mind.

If Dr. Paul is not the Republican nominee, I am voting for Obama and I suggestion everyone else do the same.

My reasoning: The party needs to be destroyed and rebuild in Rand Paul's image for 2016. Look at the numbers! Look how they have grown since 2008. If we compromise then we jeopardize everything! A compromise at this point is lose-lose situation: We lose and Dr. Paul's message loses. Compromise might be good for a husband and wife, but it isn't good for liberty and freedom!!!

The GOP and the Republic are broken, so we must destroy it and build it better and stronger again.

The old Republican guard is getting old, look at Welch, we must retire them with an Obama vote in 2012 and kick them to the curb.

It's our future, not theirs!!!

P.S. - An America under Obama, Newt, and Mitt will look the same... I know it hurts, but a vote for Obama is the only way to take back the GOP!

If Ron Paul is no the nominee i doens't matter WHO is elected

the policies will be the same.

Obama IS George Bush (Gitmo, continuing wars of aggression, Patriot Act, bail outs) and people are fed up. If he stays in office another four years people will only be MORE fed up and the NeoCon Republican movement will get MORE support as a perceived alternative.

IF Romney or Gingrich win, these people will also carry on the same policies and there will be a call to replace them before a second term.

Either way this country is cooked.

A third party vote does nothing but show discontent with EITHER of the two offerings but thats all we can do.

Thanks for all the comments,

Thanks for all the comments, but the reality is, a 3rd person vote is a waste of time and if Ron isn't the nominee then we have to HELP RAND 2016!

An Obama vote is the only safe way to get what we want... a compromise will just allow the GOP to defraud us!!!

Besides, the GOP establisment and FOX news have screwed us every which way they could! We are the future, not Murdoch and people like Welch... $£CK THEM!!!

Don't be a quitter

That's what some in the Republican party want, they would rather Obama get re-elected than see Paul the nominee. I get the feeling the Republicans are like King Henry II screaming from the palace "will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?" I am sure the insiders are now looking at the 2014 midterms. They figure if Obama gets reelected and the economy tanks, they get to pick up governorships, Senate and house seats, then they inherit the feds checkbook. I don't think so! We may be treated like the red haired bastard child that shows up for the reading of the will, but I for one think we should stick together and take our direction from Dr Paul.

We either hang together or most assuredly we will hang separately.

I thought the same thing

I thought the same thing because I figured I would get back at the republicans for not taking their one chance to win.
After talking with a few supporters it is much better to write him in so they can see why they lost and which direction they must go in the future. If you vote for Obama they will not know what the true power of our movement is.Don't worry though,we will never get to that point because Dr.Paul is going to win.

these are my thoughts as

these are my thoughts as well....if your state allows Dr. Paul write in, that's what I'd do...or vote the libertarian ticket...likely Gary Johnson.

Third Party

If Dr. Paul does not win I will vote 3rd party and hope that will be Dr. Paul. But never never vote Obama. Four more years and our country will never be able to recover. IMO

No Way

The only way for this country to change leadership is for people to start voting their conscience and to stop accepting compromise candidates. We must practice what we preach. This would alienate the people we are trying to convince. Everyone would see us as hypocrites! Really, it would be bad. I hope that we don't start seeing a new version of this question posted everyday.

If you vote for Obama you're

If you vote for Obama you're everything that's wrong with our one-party system. Don't be part of that. It's very simple: If Paul loses, (which is not necessarily looking any more likely than before Iowa, so let's keep our heads in check) we all AGREE on who to switch to. If we all agreed to vote for Chuck Baldwin instead of writing in Paul's name, Baldwin would've gotten a few more percentage points.

This time I think we can do better or even win, considering the uniqueness of the race. Whoever Ron endorses, we should vote for, instead of voting for Romney and Obama, and that would be equivalent of a third-party Paul race. I think Gary Johnson or RJ Harris would have a legitimate shot at doing damage, maybe getting into the debates, as long as we come together.

Washington, DC NW

COMPLETELY DISAGREE

All that a vote for Obama will accomplish is the furthering of the idea that his "leadership" is accepted.

SURE he will continue to blunder in a second term - take us further, through his uncompetance, toward a police state - much like the Republican nonPaul nominee would do. And neoCons will simply be further agitated and encouraged in the NEXT election than they are now.

IF the good doctor doesn't win the nomination we have to vote third party to let people know how disenfranchised we are.

dood.

I won't vote for Obama or the Republican candidate if Ron Paul doesn't win.

I vote my conscience

and it will not allow me to vote for Obama.

Respectfully,

NO!

Turning out for Obama would discredit Ron and Rand with most assuredly.. 'blowback' from the gop voters in 2016.

Remember; Ron Paul called for voters to support third party candidates in 2008 to end the duopoly, not continue it.

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!

I'm not sure about that

obama is guaranteed a victory if ron paul is not the nominee anyway. so I think it could be very empowering to see how many people write in ron paul or vote for him if hes on the third party ballot. plus we get in idea how many dems came over. everything would be mixed up otherwise.

Besides?

I'm not sure but I think in some states if you vote Republican in the primary you can't change parties for the general?

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

you can vote for whoever you

you can vote for whoever you want in the general regardless of party affliation

Voting for Obama ain't the way.

Write in RP, or vote 3rd Party run.
YOu don't have to vote for Obama to rebuild the GOP for Rand in 2016. The GOP will lose without our votes, and our votes don't have to go to Obama to have this effect.
Voting for the enemy is never good, and shows you have zero principles.

Besides RP is going to win.

tar & feathers

pitchforks & torches

and here's MY idea

Stop focusing on LOSING and get back to work on WINNING.

Downvoted.

I'm in. Scorched earth baby. Burn this mother$%#@er to the ground.

EXACTLY!

EXACTLY!

maybe.

my only argument is what if we could talk some sort of deal with the nom. for a sec of treasury or state or even a VP. These could be very worthwhile positions because they are positions where Dr. Paul could actually make a difference first hand. If not, Obama for 4 more years and we try Rand next time around.

The problem with being treasury secretary of Fed Chairman.

The problem with those roles is he still doesn't get to control the budget. The spending is the problem. Once the money is budgeted it really doesn't matter if it's taxes, borrowed, or inflated. It all reduces the standard of living.

Isn't it illegal?

isn't it illegal to offer someone a place in govt for an endorsement?
