"Ron Paul will sign executive orders"

As you have probably seen there are ads on the Daily Paul for a Ron Paul talking action figure by the Revolution Pac. On the back of the box though, it states that Ron Paul will sign executive orders. I find this rather strange as Ron Paul has spoken against the blatant misuse of executive orders. It seems he only would use them to repeal previous orders and carry out the limited power of the president as delegated in the Constitution.

The EO was built on the

The EO was built on the constitutional idea that the executive has the authority to "faithfully" carry out the wishes of the legislator and the constitution. In this way, EOs can't be made up new laws, but they can be an order that exists as an association with a law.

Thus, Paul can make EOs in order to go against any law the legislator has created that is deemed unconstitutional.

Just my thought. Wikipedia the EO

Yeah he will

sign them IF they are constitutional for starters.
Otherwise forget it.

Unlike what we have now.

Keepin' it real.

Yeah

I mean he would technically have to in order to undo all the unconstitutional uses of the Executive Order in the past. There wouldn't really be any way to do it working with our current Congress.

I think he would...

...author one EO, and one only. That which is to repeal all others.

From the horse's mouth:

Paul addresses this matter in his "My Plan for a Freeom President" as such -

"And another important step he can take toward restoring the balance of powers the Founders intended is repealing unconstitutional executive orders issued by his predecessors.

Executive orders are a useful management tool for the president, who must exercise control over the enormous federal bureaucracy. However, in recent years executive orders have been used by presidents to create new federal laws without the consent of Congress. As President Clinton’s adviser Paul Begala infamously said, “stoke of the pen, law of the land, pretty cool.” No, it is not “pretty cool,” and a conscientious president could go a long way toward getting us back to the Constitution’s division of powers by ordering his counsel or attorney general to comb through recent executive orders so the president can annul those that exceed the authority of his office. If the President believed a particular Executive Order made a valid change in the law, then he should work with Congress to pass legislation making that change."

Paul has no problem with executive orders, as long as they are used within their proper role and limitations.

Thank you for confirming my faith in the good Dr. Paul

holding to his principles.

Yes there is a legitimate function

in managing the departments and bureaucracies, not in legislating by executive order. For instance the federal war on MMJ could be ended by executive order as simple as ordering the DEA to reschedule as it's own administrative law judge ruled it should many years ago. The M1 carbines Obama's blocking from being returned from Korea another case.

Thanks Praetorius

I have a video of him saying it, your post makes it clear.

He has stated this, to remove all previous executive orders

Last run around.

I am not sure of the specifics but he did state it.

I can dig it up for ya if ya want.

I made a post requesting this. To remove all the unconstitutional executive orders, I think it is a good idea myself.

After Ron and Rand as Presidents, We Don't Know Who We Will Get

and we do not need anyone else abusing this power of executive order in the future.

It's okay

I've already seen youtube videos of him talking about executive orders.
