1,000,000 Signatures - Petition RNC: Support Ron Paul as the 2012 Republican Party Nominee
Submitted by MarximusMG on Sun, 01/29/2012 - 23:53I've recently started a petition on change.org that I believe could really have a monumental impact on the public's perception of this race. I strongly believe that our numbers as well as seriousness are often underestimated by those who aren't with us. I'd like for us to change that misperception.
Now. Not later. Not when this race has already progressed too far and it's too late. Let's make this statement NOW.
How do we do this? It's simple. Just follow the link below and sign the petition. Once you sign it, an email will immediately be sent to Reince Priebus, Chairmain of the RNC as well as Sharon Day, Co-Chariman of the RNC. The content of the email can be viewed on the petition page. It clearly and succinctly states that the only path to the White House is via Ron Paul, no one else. If not Ron Paul, then Obama will be reelected.
We need to send a clear message that we're not behind Ron Paul just so that he can make a speech at the convention and then step aside for an establishment politician to lead the country. We are behind Ron Paul because we know that HE. CAN. WIN.
We are known for having seemingly impossible organization and an insane ability to make things go viral. Let's make sure this spreads to every single corner of the internet.

Perceptions
It's important for us as followers and supporters of Ron Paul to get involved in a variety of different ways to help his campaign. Our main priority is spreading the news of Dr. Paul's message to as many people as possible by making phone calls, going door-to-door, donating money, etc.
I agree it's also important for the RNC (or any organization) to acknowledge the size of Ron Paul's following and the impact it has in this election. I'm sure we all understand this is the intent of the petition. My concern is how this action is perceived by the public in general. Maybe it's just me, but has this in any way made Dr. Paul's campaign appear desperate?
I have no problem signing the petition, but I already plan to write in Dr. Paul's name if he doesn't win the nomination (for whatever reason - legal or otherwise). I can't in good conscience vote for one of the others - even if it is to help prevent an Obama 2nd term. I've read many posts (not just in Ron Paul websites) by people who won't vote for the lesser of two evils and plan to do the same.
When you consider the other "status quo" candidates, what difference will it make whether or Obama is defeated? I believe the country is in big trouble if anyone other than Ron Paul is president. I certainly don't want to cast my vote for someone who will keep America involved in stupid wars that risk the lives of our brave military men and women and killing thousands of innocent people for the sole purpose of making the corrupt establishment more wealthy.

needs to be refined a bit. It sounds as a threat, it's not, make it a STATEMENT of incorruptible conviction, just as our role model and candidate.
