Dr. Funny Bone: A "King Killer;" GOP should "Laugh at him, at their own peril" - 1/29/12 MSNBC Video

MSNBC's 'Now w/Alex Wagner' featured a small piece that focused on Ron Paul, calling him "Dr. Funny Bone" and "The King of the One-Liner," due to all his great humor in the last debate.

Surprisingly, they actually praised Paul, with one saying "He's gonna be in this race for the long haul", followed by a commentator saying "the longer he can use his momentum and the spotlight to get his ideas out there, all the better.. As long as the liberal media stops making fun of him so much". - MSNBC bashing FOX, and themselves, kind of funny.

Another then saying that "He is the most principled candidate in the race, in either party" - found this one very surprising that this was admitted.

Finally they go on to say, the GOP are "ignoring him and laugh at him at their own peril", he has "enormous amounts of power" and could be a "King-Killer".

All pretty interesting that they are starting to truly admit to who Ron Paul is.

NOTE: You Just Witnessed a Divinely Inspired Word

I believe God Himslef put the words "King Killer" in the "ass's" mouth.

Not the first time.

Just like the ass, the speaker had not even known where the words came from.

America was only the second nation in history to be founded without a king. Israel was the first.

I'm sure God's will is that America be restored to a "king-less' country.

Maybe we will see 'one nation under God' again in our lifetime.

I don't like them calling Dr.

I don't like them calling Dr. Paul the "King of the 1-liner". He is the king of giving long well-informed answers that many of the sheep at home staring into their television sets don't really grasp. I feel like this is an attempt to make said sheep take Ron less seriously.

Ridiculous

The media immedidately started labeling him funny as soon as the debate was over(anderson cooper 360), now Dr. Paul is a funny guy ? , and the media knows that putting this new adjective on him will make the general MSM brainwashed public look at him in a lighter stance and not take anything he says serious. WHAT IS NOT SERIOUS ABOUT GENERALLY WANTING TO SAVE AMERICA ? those other bozos up there will pillage america to its core just like obama is doing.

"He's this eccentric Ghandi-Like figure that you cant touch with the normal bribes that people respond to."
the man Doug Wead on DR. RON PAUL

They are also saying he's right and to pay attention.

Listen again to the shows where they make these comments. In all the ones I've seen they are saying, not just that he's funny, but that he's perceptive and exposing truth. They're giving him respect, not ridicule.

(Maybe they were ordered to use it to try to marginalize him. But if so it's giving them an excuse to both break silence and talk about him in a favorable way. B-) )

"Ha ha but seriously ..." has a FINE tradition, both in political satire and debate. The politician who pulls it off can grab the audience's attention and respect, and get them to consider and REMEMBER his ideas.

Further: When a "gotcha" question comes up any straightforward answer will be long and only marginally effective, while a one-liner puts a spike in it RIGHT NOW.

So I don't think characterizing Ron as "a funny guy" is hurting him at all.

Humor Sells an Idea!

All the political bickering and smearing is really wearing on people's nerves. Ron Paul's approach was refreshing. It caught the audience's interest and It made them laugh. When you can make people laugh and feel good about something, they are more apt to listen and remember what you have said.

I hope Ron Paul does more of this.

Just can't help themselves.

They like him. It's a hard secret to keep. :)

I think Michael Hastings is a RP supporter

He wrote the Rolling Stone article that resulted in McChrystal getting fired. He knows RP is right about foreign policy and has made many supportive comments.

His wife, former National Security Council employee Elise Jordan, has also been very supportive of RP on MSNBC.

The cure for your crazy grandpa/uncle

These guys may or may not mean it. But it's hard for even those that hate his guts to not see the hypocrisy and absurdity of the other two candidates on the stage.[1]

And for the portions of the public that are not hardened in their positions against liberty his humor has a great ability to melt their hearts a little. At the very least it runs contra the Crazy Uncle horse the media has beat to death.

For those not old enough to remember, it was a single one liner that rang so true that won the debate and helped swing the election for another Ron.

Hoping for more of the same down the road from the prince of Liberty.

[1] Santy Froths isn't a candidate. He's a distraction.

"A King Killer." How nice.

When did we get a monarchy? I mean, an admitted one? Anyway, odd how exposing hypocrisy in a candidate is called "killing" a "king."
This is classic reverse-psychology smear. Now those who liked Candidate X but he dropped out will have a grudge against the guy who "killed" his "king." But, there is no such thing as bad publicity. And, I think they are overplaying their hand, terribly. Even the sheep are looking for a shepherd, not a king.

Whatever else I said a minute ago, the last word I want to get in is
LOVE!

Playing off the word, "kingmaker", doesn't quite fit either way

king·mak·er [king-mey-ker] noun

a person who has great power and influence in the choice of a ruler, candidate for public office, business leader, or the like. - Dictionary.com

This panel of commentators was more positive for Dr. Paul than most I've seen, but the lady who called Paul's influence, a "king-killer", implied that; rather than gaining the office himself, he is only powerful enough to dissuade voters for choosing any of the wanna-be-king candidates.

Ron Paul does have great power and influence; but it's not to promote any candidate who won't honor their oath of office, nor business leaders who would deal falsely. The good doctor has attracted that influence by being a real man in every sphere of life. If that "kills" the other candidates who don't compare well with him, then didn't they do that to themselves?

For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst and provide for it. - Patrick Henry

Their ratings must be low

:D

yup, of all the idiot talkingheads at MSDNC

Alex Wagner, who has been virulently against the Doc until recently, has ZERO qualification.

Even the hypocritically obnoxious Larry O'Donnell the failed WestWing TV scribe and self-proclaimed socialist who laughably works for the world's biggest military industrial complex contractor, as well as simply being the world's largest corp: GE/MSDNC, at least has SOME academic as well as a professional credentials. Even the murderous academic fund financed by the one time blood-diamond trader, concentration camp builder, slave owner one Cecil Rhodes financed Rhodes Scholarship adorning Rachel Maddow even has some academic credentials as well as her short stint kissing ass at the failing AirAmericaRadio network as well as kissing Olbermann's ass to get her own TV show, has something to show for it.

But seriously, WTF makes Alex Wagner thinks she's qualified to be talking politics with any authority, when I've come across far more intelligent geopolitical analyses on 'non-professional' bloggers? Hell, I've seen more Tweets more intelligent than one Alex Wagener, that rabidly anti-2nd Amendment, "kook, craky grandpa" name calling biatch.

For the life of me, I still have no clue why they hired this idiot. It's not as if she had a tremendous following online, before this job. Hell, even the founder of the most virulently anti-Paul 'satire' site Wonkette.com, Anna Marie Cox, who now writes for Guardian UK, is even more qualified for Wagner's job. At least Cox HAD a following online, which would instantly add to a new TV show's ratings. So what gives?

Is she like some producer's daughter? Is she an outright whore like Calista Grinch? Every time I see her, I shake my head: like who in their right mind hired this idiot??

I hate it when MSM gives brunette women a bad image. lol

Let's see ...we've had "...at an undisclosed location"

"So we don't have to fight them here", "Don't taze me bro" etc etc...at the rate we're going, 2012 will be the year of "...at your own peril." Come to think of it,that's prolly what the Mayans were on about.

Some Boondocks Humor?

All I can think of is grandpa in 'The Boondocks' sayin 'Don't Taze me Bro, Don't Taze Me!' - and could you imagine all the freedom fighters calling up and asking for tickets to the inauguration ball for fighting the cause. hahah. Wonder if Huey would join the cause even though it's not his normal schtick. haha.

This is one hell of an interesting year though.
