Ron Paul to be the #2 Candidate by mid-February

Bottom Line: Paul will get more delegates than Santorum or Gingrich over the next two weeks.

and people starting to recognize him as the only sane person in the room on foreign policy:

sarah

again..i do not know why ron would embrace any endorsement from her. her constiuency surely is made up of da's that couldn't understand 1/4 of his views and then when they get frustrated would be an easy target for others...we really need people to support ron who know what they would be supporting at any cost. i can not endorse a movement if palin supporters

Uh, maybe he'd embrace it because her endorsement of Rand

was one of the key reasons that Rand is now the junior senator from Kentucky.

Just sayin.

A Very Good Article By The CS Monitor Until The Last Paragraph

Paul, in contrast, already has a core of committed supporters and enough money to keep going to the convention in Tampa. He’s not trying to win the presidency as much as he is trying to maximize his ability to spread his libertarian message.

The article is suggesting that despite the strategy to get delegates for the convention than blow all of the money in a winner take all state then he is not in it to win. Let me tell you that Ron Paul IS IN IT TO WIN! We are in it to win! We are not here playing tiddlywinks. This is the psychological tactic of the media to say that he can't win so that people who keep hearing this over and over succumb to the idea that he can't win despite doing the 2nd best of the candidates in the caucasus/primaries so far.

Accurate

The last paragraph accurately summarizes Paul's answer to the question whenever he's been asked.

Basically, he points out that he's got alot of support, growing support, and that he knows it's an uphill climb.

Sure, he's realistic AND in it to win it!

Really looking forward to

Really looking forward to when this happens. Yes, Newt and Santorum split the warmongering vote, but I feel that when it's down to Romney and Paul it's going to be beneficial for the very sake of simplifying the options for those who are not as involved in politics as some.

Not so fast

PKnuckle101,

I wish I'd found your post in the similar subject search...I also posted http://www.dailypaul.com/209781/will-ron-paul-win-more-deleg...

There is no awarding of delegates from the caucuses in February. And even Iowa hasn't awarded delegates (I think it probable that Ron Paul will send more Iowans to the June state convention than any other candidate---he's publicly noted how well he did compared to the others).

So no, it won't be clear in February. The media keeps saying so but they aren't telling the story correctly.

I will feel so much better

when Santorum finally drops and Newt is teetering. We are almost at that point, aren't we?

NOT if we don't start counting the vote.

The establishment will be in full vote fraud by Super Tuesday if we don't start challenging these results. They will have RP under %10 if we don't act NOW!

Divide and Conquer BLOWBACK!

The Republicans shot themselves in the foot by crafting the Newt vs. Romney fighting in a sandbox script!

Ron Paul, all Statesman-like, was pushed off to the side; out of the view of the center-pointed camera - and when asked to speak he said: "I am not interested in what those guys are talking about over there!" - which sums it up for MOST Americans!

Right-wing talk radio also, while hyping more war with Iran, and saying STUPID things like "radical Islam is a bigger threat to our national security than our debt"(Dennis Miller last week Friday to Greg in Chicago) - was also saying Ron Paul needs to get behind the nominee and keep pushing his fiscal conservatism!

The bottom line is Ron Paul will gain enough delegates to be a MAJOR problem for the establishment GOP that claims bouncing Obama from the White House is their #1 priority - but - in Hitlarian Nationalistic fashion; Obama declared(just like a neo-con) that "all options on the table" to prevent Iran from selling their oil in any other commodity than the US Dollar(I mean, from getting a nuclear weapon)...

They are SCREWED; Romney is a sleezy white billionaire with money oversees, nobody is gonna vote for that - so....how do the Republicans plan on defeating Obama WITHOUT Ron Paul supporters? They don't!!!

You showed us your cards...GOTCHA!!!

The deliberate Marxist tanking of this economy through political cronyism and moral compromise, in pursuit of the love of money carrot-and-stick approach(Federal Reserve bubble)cost me and my family a successful budding career that I loved! Ron Paul 2012

Abandon the Current Foreign Policy Stance

If Congressman Ron Paul wants to win the 2012 Republican Nomination he has to abdanon the Current Foreign Policy stance. Our strategy needs to focus on the top ten most useless foreign bases versus closure of over 900 in eight years. A more sensible and rational stance will gain enough votes to win the nomination.

So, you think keeping 890 of

So, you think keeping 890 of the bases is perfectly rational? I don't think the overseas bases are the issue. Most people agree that we don't need all those bases.

I think most people who disagree with Ron Paul's foreign policy do not understand it. They think he wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon. They think he is soft on defense when he wants to enhance our defense and eliminate the militarism and waste.

change his policy? Not a chance...but

Like most things in America, the idea is to scale back gradually, but keep those programs for which many are dependent.

So, ask yourself, are American's dependent on overseas wars? Are they dependent on soldiers dying for nation building?

We look to RP as a leader simply because he doesn't do what you just suggested.

Thanks for suggesting though.

I agree

He is offering incrementalism in all areas except foreign policy. That would make a huge difference in perceptions. He needs to go from a rhetorical candidate to a realistic candidate. The timeframes should be workable.

Sarah Palin is very close in my opinion to being able to endorse Paul (See Freedom Watch interview from 013012). If Ron could be more nuanced regarding foreign policy he might be able to bring Sarah along. Reagan republicans' support for foreign wars and the MIC is starting to erode. We can bring them along.

Interesting thought.

Give a time frame. oh wait, he did that already.

No more soldier blood shed. Not another mother need grieve.

Scale Back Foreign Policy Statement

We need to reassess his foreign policy rhetoric. Yes, scale back on the foreign bases closures.

Hope true. There are a LOT of people still to work on. The MSM has really hurt us. People think all sorts of wrong things about Ron, yet.

PKnuckle101's picture

so true

The MSM has built a multi-layered defense against a Ron Paul presidency. In debating with my dad and father-in-law i encountered (in this order): hes racist, hes anti-israel, he's anti-military, he's unelectable.... Looking forward to what arguments i can defeat after i establish his electability with them.
