Big Money for Ron Paul in San Francisco

And Jeff Ready for the report from San Francisco, which appears on his blog.
Hi All -
I wanted to give this report from a friend of mine in California. He paid $500 to have lunch with Ron Paul in San Francisco today. He reports that there were 70 people at the lunch, so Ron Paul made $35,000 right there. At the event the staffers told him there were even more people at the breakfast fundraiser, plus there are more expensive fundraisers taking place at dinner and at an after dinner reception tonight.
In addition, he reports over 100 people marching for Ron Paul and greeting him in the streets of San Francisco.
It's very likely that Dr. Paul made over $100,000 just today from his live appearances alone. Remember that this month marks the end of third quarter fundraising, and it's critical that the Ron Paul campaign report great numbers in order to (1) have dollars to buy advertising for the early primaries and (2) show legitimacy to the main stream media. Whatever the bias against Ron Paul is, you can't hide from cold hard cash.
So, please join me in sending a couple extra bucks to Ron Paul tonight -- perhaps you can brown bag your lunch tomorrow, and kick $10 his way, or maybe you can dig a little deeper.
I'm sending my lunch money and a little bit extra right now.
All the best -
Jeff Ready

great start
concerning the media, i think zenpiper is right on, big media is totally sold out and for now, Dr P should probably avoid them and stick to events like USC and SanFran...this is a campaign that is pumpin up people and i love it...
if we can keep up this momentum and build each day, this is a winnable race...
take care and God bless...
Good feeling, great event
.
I wish the parade had gone all around San Francisco, over to Oakland and everywhere in the Bay Area. He's the perfect candidate for the freedom-lovers out there.
It was also great to see people in suits marching, along with the T-shirt crowd. Great sign at the end.
The only tiny thing I disagree with was when Jeff wrote, "(2) show legitimacy to the main stream media."
As one who worked in the mainstream media for 15 years, I will say this - don't waste your time. The media are bought and paid for by the Council on Foreign Relations, Big Government and an unswerving allegiance to the President and the Administration. To them, if Paul does well, it's a fluke; if he fails it's because he is expected to. You cannot win with the big media. You may get a sympathetic story or clip from time to time, but that is only to give the impression of fairness, and not the real thing. This applies to Tucker Carlson, Lou Dobbs and Keith Oberman. They all like Dr. Paul but do very infrequent pieces.
It would be very sensible to just forget about the media and concentrate on the net, the fundraisers, the meetup groups and the lovely home-made videos that pop up everywhere. The debates are fine, and people watch. Dr. Paul can hold his own very well. I am praying he doesn't go forward with the 60 Minutes piece. They will crucify him. They are CFR to the core and cannot stand the idea of Dr. Paul doing well.
.
Ron Paul Needs the mass media?
Really agree with zenpiper's comments about the media being bought and paid for by the Council on Foreign Relations. Also afraid of Ron Paul stepping into a hornet's nest - 60 Minutes piece.
However if there were a way that many of the fine Ron Paul videos already produced, and those to come, could some how be marketed to the public-even making a small profit for the campaign - well that could be the answer in ignoring the mass media and yet getting Ron Paul elected our next president . How awesome that would be!! I throw the idea out there but have no background in marketing - just hoping that someone(s) can make it happen. Thank-you.
