Volunteer for Newt in Nevada - You know what to do!
Submitted by ausscyn on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 00:01I got this invite from Newt, and sure enough, I signed up to speak for him. I welcome the opp'ty to say what I want about Newt. How about you? How about getting EVERY precinct in Nevada covered for ole Newty?
Also, for an FYI, you can see the speech he has prepared for all his "speakers" and make some comparisons if you sign-up to speak. I'm all for research & this is time well spent.

Please pass this link on to everyone you know! It is important that we have a detailed list of our supporters to determine the exact coverage for the caucus this Saturday. This link is separate and unrelated to the Clark County Caucus Registration site. By following this link to register online the information you provide will go directly to the Newt Gingrich campaign with the precinct and corresponding corresponding caucus location of their supporters. If you do not know you precinct or caucus location please follow the provided link to determine this information.
In addition, each precinct meeting provides an opportunity for a Newt Gingrich supporter to give their opinion on why they are supporting Newt in the primary. When you register online, you will be immediately sent talking points to take to your precinct meeting at the caucus. (I have included the talking points to the body of this email. See Below.)

I see a lot of familiar faces here today and most of you know that I have been a strong supporter of Newt Gingrich through this process. He has a proven record of fixing Washington – including balancing the budget. If there was ever a time we need that done again it is now. I believe Newt is the only candidate who can really fix the way Washington works and thus fix our country. All the rest will just tinker around the edges. As your friend and your neighbor, I ask you to please join me today in supporting Newt Gingrich for President. I have here a letter that I would like to share with you from Mr. Gingrich...
First I want to thank you for participating in this remarkable process of self-government. Caucusing is an intense act of commitment and the dedication of the people of Iowa is why this state earns its first in the nation status every four years.
I am asking for your vote for a simple reason. America has big problems. And big problems not only require big solutions, but also an experienced hand to make those solutions a reality.
I believe I can humbly offer both.
On big solutions, my Jobs and Growth plan will give every American the option of a 15% flat tax that can be filed on a postcard. And for businesses, my plan would lower the tax rate to 12.5%, making us competitive with every major manufacturing country in the world.
This means more jobs and more take home pay for every single American. That’s why I have been endorsed by the architect of Ronald Reagan’s economic plan, who says my Jobs and Growth plan would create more jobs than any other candidate.

Bring Photo ID with you to register.

Mingle and talk with people beforehand and talk about your support for Newt and ask them to vote for him.
Identify the Caucus Site Manager and introduce yourself as a designated speaker on Newt Gingrich’s behalf.

It would be wrong to do this, so take the position, and then give a 5 minute advance warning that you have changed your mind and no longer support Newt. That way you fill the slot and keep anyone else from filling it, but then you don't give a speech for him!

Discussing strategy in public fora exposes that there either isn't any real strategy or that it's at best foolhardy.
It's like a person busted for weed going on a public chat and asking for legal help with their problem:

They have done every dirty trick including changing caucus dates, lying about vote counts, black-balling, out right paying for votes. I knew I great New York cop that said you can't catch the bad guys by always being good. I am not advocating this, just offering a different perspective.

I'm not sure whether state law would prohibit you from doing so, but it would definitely be frowned upon. Take the high road and give a passionate speech in favor of Ron Paul!

Absolutely, even if there is no specific prohibition in any relevant law there's certainly an implicit prohibition.
Since it's a caucus, perhaps a court would stay out of it, however, even by the GOP rules which do apply it's gonna be "frowned upon".

This will have BLOWBACK. Remember what happened to RP's books on Amazon when people here decide to do a 1 star bomb on Levin's book. What happened? Levin's supporters 1 star bombed RP's books.
Best you can do is make sure that you are a delegate but don't badmouth Newt during the speeches, this will have disastrous blowback on RP.

Just do a non-committal speech, maybe phrase the pro-newt arguments in such a way that it looks like you are a supporter but unsure of how to defend the guy (that WOULD be a hell of a task).
Something like: I think Newt's big ideas like a colony on the moon are way more important than the things the other candidates are discussing. He is talking about american exceptionalism, something we need to focus on.
The fact he was kicked out of congress speakership and fined $300,000.00 and only paid it in exchange for having the record sealed off doesn't matter anymore. He has political experience. He knows the problems with the housing crisis - he lobbied for Freddie Mac and made 1.6 million dollars! If anyone would know how to fix the problem it would be the one who worked inside of the system and used it to his advantage whenever he could.
And the fact he left his wife while she was sick? That is what we NEED right now. America is sick. We need Newt Gingrich to help us divorce the old America and marry the New America so that we can get the ship righted.
Newt may have written about how he thinks the constitution needs to be abolished. He might want to throw judges in jail if he doesn't like their decisions. But let's face it: Newt is a genius. He's a HISTORIAN. He was a historian for Freddie Mac. With a guy as smart as him in charge, we can just hand him everything and give all of the power to the executive branch like he wants, and everything will be okay!
