Vice President Ideas
Submitted by sovereignjanice on Tue, 01/31/2012 - 05:02I think someone known for their tea party roots might help sway those hung up on Paul's foreign policy. Do you think DeMint would be good? I think he has a lot of traditional conservative pull. I'd go so far as to say Michael Scheuer because I think strategically it would be a good move to quell some of these "isolationist" rants that come from the uninformed. Former CIA head of the Bin Laden Unit may get others to think twice. Of course I think he's better suited for head of the CIA. The Judge could be a good one. Lord knows there won't be any violations of the constitution with both of them. Still, the Judge may be better suited for head of the DOJ or appointment to the supreme court.
There's so many choices. We could get the economics vote with someone like Peter Schiff or the black vote and possibly economics with Iris Mack (that girl's a friggin genius). Walter Block knows his stuff too.
Karen Kwiatkowski could help with the female vote and the military vote. She did pretty well for herself and again it helps us with that pesky isolationist bull.
(a little less serious, but interesting none the less)...
If we want to go with the intimidating factor, I'd go with Tony Pashos. No foreign countries will question whether or not America means business with that bear standing over you.
Julie Newmar might confuse everyone so much their heads would explode and us Paulbots could flood the poles. I mean really, who would expect Catwoman to be vice.
But if we really want to give a big FU to the GOP, we should give John Garver, Santorum's nephew, the job. That's one giant middle finger if you ask me.

No more VP threads, please
Aren't 36,000 references for VP enough?
Do we really need another thread?

I think
Chuck Hagle would be a good choice...
Do we need more dems or repubs?
We don't want to take any repubs out of the senate. We want someone who seems very 'competent' on foreign policy.
We need someone that is pro-peace, but also sufficiently anti-fed - if not necessarily libertarian (RP won't be 'offed' over gay marriage).
Is there a Dem senator we could nab? Ah, whatever. Nevermind.
Jim DeMint is a logical choice, as he does not plan to run for Senate reelection in 2016.
Actually, he might be great. He could - gasp - act in his Constitutional role as PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE. He would use his connections there to help pull them in line with repealing Obamacare and the income tax and so forth.
That is, DeMint would be President Paul's 'go-to-guy' for getting things done in the Senate - gasp - AS Vice-President.
Too perfect to be true, but alas.
It would calm the Tea Party Limbaugh dudes if DeMint was on board - and he probably would be if Paul squeaked away a nomination.
And think! If we conducted our foreign policy as directed through the constitution - via the Senate - then a constitutional VP would be THE foreign policy guy. This would be a GREAT way to get RP's ideas in place while appeasing the Hannitoids.
Could we maybe
win a dog gone primary/caucus before speculating on a VP?

Rand Paul...
...or none at all.
RON PAUL 2012 AND BEYOND - http://www.ronpaul2012.com/
I think Dr.Paul is smart enough not to pick a VP
just yet and so many of us would do a shitty job at it.
I've seen a lot of neocons, democrats yada yada that have been thrown out so it's clear people aren't either really paying attention to the details of their picks or are just plain hoping to disrupt the push for liberty.
As for De.Mint? Fuck that bitch. If his sorry ass can't come out and stand like a man, he can slither his nasty right back into the slime he crawled out of.
I suppose to some it's fun to guess but I trust Dr.Paul to make the best choice with the Constitution in mind.

NO JUDGE!?!
I wondered why the 'fuck off' comment before seeing the 'poll'.
Now I know.
Of that PITIFUL list, there was only ONE name I could even consider, which was my second choice behind "none or other" - that is Karen Kwiatkowski.
My first choice is the ONLY person (Rand included - I hope that doesn't bring on 'the haters') I could TRUST as VP under the Good Doctor:
JUDGE ANDREW NAPOLITANO
I am encouraged by the fact that, out of all the RP videos I've seen (which is a bunch) there's only one where, when asked for a VP choice, he actually named a name. He said "well, I like that Judge Napolitano..."
YESSSS!
BTW - 'other' went all the way to the last round, where it lost to Ralph Nader of all people! And that was with a lousy SIX votes.

Rights are like muscles; you must exercise them to keep them fit, or they will atrophy and die.
The only elected ones
...are the POTUS and VEEP. If any of Obamas electors had known whom he was putting in his cabinet, who'd they have still voted for him?
I'd like to know who Dr Paul is considering for key cabinet positions, although it is early yet.
Thanx,
Jason
You can't get clean in a dirty bathtub.
Hugely good idea
Jason, You are spot on here. Ron Paul ought o form his cabinet now and i would also suggest that it be a coalition cabinet starting with a vp pick like Dennis Kucinich.
