Yahoo news first reported that Mr. Dillard was there first, however, in the 2nd article (update)...they completely ignored this and made it look like Mr. Dillard was behind Newt waving his placard. Regardless, Newt violated Mr. Dillard's First Amendment Rights and this should be the focus of the lamestream media, but I don't expect we will see anything like that...If it was the other way around, this story would be all over the News. I hope Mr. Dillard seeks justice for violation of his first amendment rights, as well as pressing charges and seeking damages for his pain and suffering. Good Job Mr. Dillard.

I'm pretty sure that is Daniel Webster and I am also pretty sure that just happened to be Daniel Websters church. But as his constituent I would demand MY congressman step up and represent.

The original Yahoo article actually described the intentional attack. This article makes it sound like somebody accidentally stepped on while being cordial. It appears to me like media distortion (IMHO).

If the press can hound Dr. Paul about 20-year-old articles written under his name, if they can demand an apology and suggest he "give the money back," it would seem to follow that Gingrich would be held responsible for an assault committed in his name, that he denounce the action, and that he give back the money he made off it.

You have the law on your side, and witnesses.

It would have been bad enough if the Gingrich Goons had just stepped on your toes, as they were encouraging one another to do. However, you have the Yahoo reporter's testimony that it looked like the main thug was grinding his heel into your foot, as if stamping out a cigarette. That right there makes this a certifiably vicious act -- and worthy of an assault charge, plus compensation to the max. Punitive damages need to be heaped on top of any medical compensation you get out of this.

.....well you don't have to be explicitly "involved" when you have hired thugs.... This is part and parcel of how the Republican machine does business... Now the Rep. Party has excluded Ron Paul from CPAC apparently....because he may embarrass them by WINNING the straw poll AGAIN as he did in 2010 & 2011. Wow....yup...they are a "Grand Old Party" alright...just like the mafia....no...the mafia has more ethics...hahahaha

Thank you for your efforts on behalf of the Ron Paul campaign.

I'm sorry to learn of the fracture in one or more bones in your foot.

I hope you are adequately compensated for your injuries and what is a serious deprivation of your rights.

Most of all I hope you quickly recover to full health.

I hope that he filed a report and has witnesses. You know that the Gingrich team will play dumb with this..I know any of the rallies I go to from now on I will be prepared for this kind of Nonsense.
